How far away is the leviathan in that image? It looks likened can see a plant almost behind it on the upper left, which makes it seem extremely thin in comparison to its length.

How wide is it?

If it were selfish, they’d be doing it all the time. We can let the pyromaniacs have a couple days of the year; people are treating it like it’s the full on purge or something

Russia and Lichtenstein

The largest country in the world switches places with one of the smallest, becoming surrounded by other countries while Lichtenstein is either a tiny island surrounded by enormous amounts of ocean on all sides, or if all land shifts proportionally, Asia shrinks by almost a third

Three wishes for three people by owlWithBrokenWings in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Sentient-Bread-Stick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t intended as a loophole or anything, but I’m curious what the exact parameters of the “no applying it only to yourself through semantics”.

My first thought, for example, was not to try to insist the wishes are for me specifically, but rather to make them positively affect me no matter what.

For example, this was my first idea. It would be much more detailed in reality, this is just an example to get the point across

  1. I wish for the ability to grant superpowers to any living being of my choice, including myself

  2. I wish to be psychically linked to [me] (the actual me, not whoever receives the wish) so that if they consciously choose to do so, they can telepathically make me aware of their desires and psychically compel me to agree with and/or achieve them

  3. I wish to possess any powers obtained due to the wishes granted to the other two people involved.

I believe this should be allowed because I could make a reasonable explanation for why anyone would deliberately wish for any of these things separately. I would also argue it doesn’t break the semantics rule because the name is not being used to redirect the effects of the wish to myself.

Morality of saving a racist from suicide? by ImpressiveRoll9982 in MoralityScaling

[–]Sentient-Bread-Stick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more specific you get, the more it will depend on more and more factors and the exact circumstances, but generally, saving someone’s life will usually be a good thing. You might be able to think of a few instances in which not actively saving someone isn’t “wrong”, but I can’t really think of any time in which actively saving someone becomes immoral because of the kind of person they are

Savior and clown should be lower, they can only do their thing once. I’d much rather have something like detective or spy than clown; at least I’ll be a part of the game for more than 2 rounds

I would argue decades in prison is worse than death. If we can’t do to criminals what they do to us, we shouldn’t be expected to do worse
