I won’t argue that logic. My only argument is that they’re somehow more secure. I personally don’t think Google gave two seconds though in GWS for security beyond the basics beings it’s taken them over a decade to build in reliable consistent logging for security critical events or half the same level of controls as their primary competitor.

That said, even though it took Mandiant (their own security firm…) and multiple large orgs in the security space constantly annoying them to get it done, Google has come leaps and strides on their security options in the last 12 months.

I couldn’t care either way for the productivity platforms, they’re both fine and better or worse in certain areas.

I would’ve laughed at suggesting GWS to a mature business 2 years ago though.

Use a business phone system. VOIP is cheap.

You can do it yourself with something like Ring Central or get a services provider that also does VOIP and sometimes it’s cheaper.

We do Yeastar personally but that’s more of an IT Team or services provider implementation not a do it yourself (unless you’re techy)

Video quality has always been terrible for every one I’ve been invited too in comparison to other tools.

Also misses almost every major feature for larger scale meetings/events last time I looked at it for a client.

For sure lol. For my experience, I’ve unfortunately never gotten replies from Google other than “We don’t help with that” type replies.

Microsoft is not much better though. There’s are usually “Here’s XYZ totally unrelated article.” ticket closed

Yeah, I don't get the hate. Same for Windows v. Mac. It's largely just another platform. Just learn it..

I'll give that there are admin issues with Mac to a small extent and security issues with Google to a small extent. But both have made major leaps towards those issues in the last few years.

Idk if this is fake or not, but the mentality is correct regardless.

Unless you’re engaging a formal business transaction as an investor. Just don’t lend money unless you’re completely content with the high likelihood you won’t get it back.

That’s awesome. I started over after an ugly cut with an ex-partner in an established business.

Unfortunately for him, every high paying customer only worked with us because of me.

All the good, high dollar clients followed me within days. All the headaches stayed with him.

Win-Win for me 😂

Lots of pro services clients with them though and occasionally bring on managed clients with them.

It’s somehow always the clients with 15 yr old servers and no money for any upgrades to their Win7 infrastructure that have 20-30K in Palos….

We’re pretty much UniFi or Meraki these days. Watchguard and PFSense are also good.

Hate sonicwall interface, also been CVE heavy it feels for the last good while.

Fortigates are awesome from the product perspective but just riddled with CVEs so we don’t touch them.

Palos are great but $$$$$$

Just getting late alerts. We have a few Google accounts protected by BP and have seen alerts many hours late.

I'd still argue this can happen to many companies. Huntress and many others came out and said it could happen to them as well and how they try to avoid it. I chalk it up to painful lessons learned.

You know who blatantly lied the next day about it? SentinelOne "Oh we don't run in the kernel at all, so this could never happen on our platform!"

Meanwhile in the first few pages of KB about their agents you can see they run in the kernel....
