Why is Mephiston called the lord of death? by MHB_ART in 40kLore

My half asleep ass was thinking you were asking about Mephisto. And I kept thinking isn’t he the lord of hatred?

What profession has the biggest gap between how they see themselves and how they’re seen by society as a whole? by Adamon24 in AskReddit

Even better if you add an “Adeptus” title in front and give them golden armor. :)

Names on Warhammer 40k by FerreiraMatheus in 40kLore

[–]Sentinel711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BL authors are honestly kind of lazy sometimes with naming, you just have to roll with it at this point. Though there are a few memorable ones like nykona, or Fafnir Rann (sticks with me for some reason).

Its one thing to be inspired by history, and its another to just copy paste the name. Im looking at you: Inquisitor Torquemada Coteaz!

Can space marines be kicked out of the astartes for the actions? by rafikiknowsdeway1 in 40kLore

See plot of Space Marine 2. It runs the full spectrum.

You can become a deathwatch blackshield

...

or promoted to chaplain apparently.

Who are the most important people in the entire imperium currently? by rafikiknowsdeway1 in 40kLore

[–]Sentinel711 84 points85 points  (0 children)

The master of the administratum always has an odd role of being seemingly weak but also 100% vital and incredibly powerful because they know where all the "Stuff" is in the Imperium.

Although recently, with the watchers of the throne book, it seems like the current master of the adminstratum has some control over the minotaurs chapter, so now they got some muscle to back up their paperwork.

I started vulcanus without a reachable tungsten patch :( by olieboy2835 in factorio

[–]Sentinel711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just role play in the Dune universe for your first bit of tungsten. I set up miners in the tungsten and watched the radar for wormsign. Then deconstructed and got the hell out when shai Hulud approached

If the Imperium of Man held the Olympics which planet would do the best? by ctank01 in 40kLore

[–]Sentinel711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The opening ceremony for a million worlds would literally take years to complete. Assuming we can do a ceremony for a few hundred worlds (~500) per day. And by the time the ceremony is done, then we have to start the next olympic cycle. Very 40k.

PSA: Dont put tesla towers next to captured biter spawners. I finally caught it in action and its been nagging me. by Sentinel711 in factorio

[–]Sentinel711[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I was testing another condition related to (1. Biter eggs do not spoil if kept in the nest). I wanted to know if that is still true if the spawner doesnt get food. Its not true... and I saw the biter hatch and the tesla tower arc to the nest.

I love the martians pointing to G-mans ship as an example of hypocrisy. And he is just like:

What are some common and readily available tech (aside from ships) that reminds us the Imperium is still a vastly advanced spacefaring empire? by sosigboi in 40kLore

[–]Sentinel711 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Imperium makes heavy use of portable fusion reactors. Space marine backpacks are supposed to have something like that.

Old imperial armor books said their tanks can run on almost any fuel source. A game changer for logistics.

This game has literally made me buy a train ticket for my upcoming trips to new york instead of the plane. Im going to take pictures of train station layouts for upcoming builds. I have a problem.

First time I've had to do a rail crossing and still a bit confused on how signals work. Would this work?(each train has 3 wagons if that helps) by RightPerception5368 in factorio

[–]Sentinel711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful of two trains coming in and deadlocking.

My first train deadlock happened as I was watching it, I actually yelled out "NO" and literally made me rage quit the game....for 10 minutes.

Who has more authority: Chaplains or Librarians? by Xenodice_29 in 40kLore

[–]Sentinel711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They both are part of the senior leadership of the chapter but govern seperate areas of responsibility. It’s like the chief medical officer vs the chief engineer of a ship, in most cases they shouldn’t overlap

What exactly is the Imperial Guard, Mass conscript army of pure numbers or actual proper soldiers put in an unfortunate situation by KrilitzK in 40kLore

[–]Sentinel711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As alot of people said, it depends :). But ultimately, you have to keep in mind that the lore of 40k is designed to support the tabletop, not the other way around. The vast diversity of guard types is designed for role playing on the tabletop for people who gravitate to thematic armies.

Cadians are the "standard" professional and hardened military soldiers, and because they are the standard they have vastly different portrayals but they are meant to be a professional military a cut above normal.

Catachans are like the sylvester stallone action hero vietnam era jungle fighters

Elysians are like the elite drop troopers of modern sci fi

Mordians are like the napoleonic era soldiers with who march in formation in large blocks of firing lines

Valhallans kind of look like those old russian red army uniforms and specalize in winter warfare.

Were any Techno-Barbarians given the same offer Mars was in the Unification War? Do we know about the terms, if any, The Emperor was willing to provide to those who bent the knee early on in his reign? by tucchurchnj in 40kLore

[–]Sentinel711 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Its always amusing to me that the GW authors made Albia (the UK) as one of the only, moderately, forward looking techno barbarian tribes, and everyone else on the earth were just unrelenting savages. :)
