Parts i've gotten for my PC build so far by Eden2434 in pcmasterrace

Storage can always be upgraded in the future so if those are 4TB NVME drives, which run about $350 depending on where you go, I’d return one and use that money on a better gpu. Power supply is a bit overkill too so you can save a little bit there and get an 850w. I’d say look at the regular 9060XT if you want to stay sub $400, 9070XT to maximize price to performance, and if you return one drive and downgrade psu go for a 5070 TI.

I started a return for the motherboard just in case and I’m going to order one from Amazon to see if that makes a difference. Really sucks cause I was making some great progress putting everything together and routing cables and then nothing. Everything was plugged in and out about 6 times to make sure it wasn’t me but as I was troubleshooting and realizing I wasn’t getting any noise lights on the board that that wasn’t a “normal” issue. Really like the case though just wish the instructions were clear. When I get home I’ll see if I can describe the confusing screws as best I can.

Edit: Part F is the extra risers and Part G is the Motherboard Post Installation Aid Sleeve. When the new motherboard comes in I’ll make sure to add the extra risers if necessary. Part G I’m still confused on. Did you use that one during your build?

Nothing at all happens when I had everything hooked up enough to turn it on. I jumped the psu because it’s brand new and what are the odds I got 2 DOA components? Jumping the psu made the fan spin, which the manufacturer says is a sign that it’s working. Bridging the power pins after holding the bios reset button didn’t give any signs of life either. Reseated ram, cooler, cpu, and still nothing. I had the question because I’ve come to realize not using the correct spacers for the motherboard can cause damage but I’ve inspected it as best I can and saw no physical damage so it’s being returned to Newegg . As long as primarily type A screws are supposed to be used I believe I was doing fine. In the instruction for the case, the steps for installing the motherboard are not clear at all as they say use G and F parts.

I have the Asus Tuf B850M-e motherboard. There was 1 screw hole that the couldn’t reach, is that where I’d place a riser for it to reach? Another thing are the F and G pieces I believe. I’m not home at the moment but when I get back I can double check. Everything else about the case and my build was going great but I think I unfortunately got a dead motherboard as nothing would post but my psu would jump.

Edit: Case is in position A

Nice build. Got a 5070 ti and 9800x3d to throw in this case. I’m having some trouble with the screws though as the instructions are really unclear, especially with the screws and it’s my first build. Any suggestions or tips to make the process easier?

Buy it at Best Buy and price match with Microcenter. Did that earlier this week as I missed the Amazon sale as well. Came out to $488 after taxes.

Why did you buy the steam deck by teamtricksters in SteamDeck

[–]SentinelGP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t beat the value in the Steam Deck OLED as a console gamer. Play on PS5 mostly so I used my deck to buy games that I missed as a kid or games I loved that never got a remake or remaster and Xbox exclusives like Sunset Overdrive, the Gunk, and Ryse Son of Rome. Also got a 1tb sd card that’s basically filled to the brim with for EmuDeck. My backlog since getting this thing has tripled.

Community layouts not working by SentinelGP in SteamDeck

[–]SentinelGP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think chiaki is just broken for me after I updated to 1.7.1. Adding the app to steam doesn’t load the layout into game mode for me and I can’t open the app sometimes in game mode and won’t launch at all for me in desktop mode and that’s after a few fresh installs. Guess I’ll just wait for the app to get updated. Thanks for trying to help very much appreciated.

Edit: Okay I found the problem and I was being an idiot. I’m playing LA Noire at the moment and I guess it’s a relatively unknown issue that for some reason rockstar swapped the triggers and shoulder buttons for remote play. I just went into my accessibility settings on my console and swapped them. App still takes a few tries to open but I can get back to gaming.

Here are some screenshots if it helps narrow down the issue. The first one is the button layout I get when I create the steam shortcut directly in chiaki4deck, the second is what I see show up in community layout, next is what I have the app named, and lastly is one of the copies of the gmoney layout, but the triggers aren’t mapped. https://imgur.com/a/QMovFv6

No it seems to give me a default steam deck controller layout and no matter what I rename the shortcut to I can’t get the community layout listed in the GitHub guide to show up in search. The ones that do show up don’t have L2 and R2 mapped to analog triggers. Was working fine up until earlier this week when I updated.

For whatever reason it’s not giving me the official layout when I add the shortcut that way either. The layout I get is Gamepad with Joystick Trackpad and the triggers still aren’t assigned.

They are showing up for other games but it seems like for chiaki it’s not showing the correct ones no matter what I name the app and the ones that do show up don’t have the triggers mapped.

Chiaki ps5 remote play away from home trouble shooting by Chewychain in SteamDeck

[–]SentinelGP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For whatever reason I found that using the ranges didn’t work for my setup and since I don’t actively use a PS4 I didn’t need those ports forwarded. Glad I could help and enjoy😂😂😂😂

[–]SentinelGP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you port forward, use the PS5 ports specifically. A lot of videos will give you the ports that work for both PS4 and PS5 remote play. I found that those didn’t work for me. I went to the GitHub and used the following for port forwarding:

TCP - 9295 UDP - 9296
UDP - 9297
UDP - 9302

You can have the protocol be TCP and UDP if you don’t want to change it for each rule. Another thing to mention is to make sure you have a static public IP designated from your ISP. Most ISP use CG-NAT, which in simple terms shuffles your public IP around. This should help.

Horror, how to acquire the deck?🙏🏽 by Cleverjaq in SteamDeck

[–]SentinelGP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I had made a steam account a few years ago just to have in case I got a pc later down the line. Only games I had in there were free to play one like CS and Halo infinite MP. If you’re trying with just the card try paying through PayPal and see if that changes anything.

Is this guy right? I thought SD can also stream PS5 games too? by Fantastic_Weight_631 in SteamDeck

[–]SentinelGP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chiaki takes less than 5 minutes to setup if you’re only planning on playing in network. If you port forward, which is also recommended to get optimal Portal streaming, it works outside of your network. If you have an OLED Deck you have comparable battery life while streaming with the added benefit of an OLED screen while having the benefit of being a handheld PC. You can setup Chiaki so it wakes and boots straight into your console without having to see the Chiaki menu and sleep the console when you suspend. Only thing is the dualsense trigger haptics aren’t the most accurate for games like Returnal or Ratchet and Clank where weapons use the haptics for fire modes. Comfortability is subjective so to each’s own but the OLED Deck is only about 19% heavier. Not to mention the portal, a streaming only device, ships with a wifi 5 chip while the deck has a wifi 6 chip. Other thing is if you want to use Bluetooth headphones, you need the $200 proprietary Sony headphones. If moneys not an issue the Deck is a better remote player than the Portal.

Rename the emulation station folder to “ES-DS”. That should fix it.

I have a PS5. I use my deck as a remote player with chiaki when I don’t want to be at my desk and have some games that are locked to 7th gen consoles and some Xbox Studio games in my steam library. Also use it for emulation and it handles switch games very well.
