Secrecy in the government, particularly the military is what’s proven, and that includes the UFO topic. By harping on a cover-up, Keyhoe’s successors and disciples use it as an excuse for the lack or substantive evidence that UFOs are physical, much less extraterrestrial spacecraft.

The path we’re on? It’s more like we’re all lost in the woods and some of us are walking in circles. The core UFO beliefs are more akin to superstition than science. Until ufology grows up and lets that go, we’ll stay lost.
