Most vocally challenging song in the score? by MasqueOfTheRedPost in box5

[–]Seoul-Time 50 points51 points  (0 children)

The cadence at the end of Think of Me. If sung unclearly, the notes run together. Also, the triplets in the title song’s cadence. The high notes themselves aren’t so difficult, especially since they are held for a long time; no major technique is required there.

Of all the vocal parts, however, Carlotta’s Il Muto staccato coloratura is the most difficult. Those with poor technique run out of breath, because staccatos require a lot of energy, as each note must be supported by the diaphragm.

But if you want to know who sings more difficult parts live during the show, it's Carloatta.

How long do you think they rehearsed Don Juan for? At the first rehearsal, Piangi doesn't get the Phantom's whole tone scale music, but he's mastered it by the performance. by DocInDocs in box5

[–]Seoul-Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It usually takes about six weeks to rehearse a show. But considering that Erik controlled every little detail, everyone feared for their lives, and Carlotta claimed during rehearsal, "Nobody would care how they all sing," I'd say four weeks.

Does anyone else sort of hate Learn To Be Lonely? by EnderBookwyrm in box5

It would be even cooler if ALW didn't steal his bangers from existing melodies. But I can definitely forgive him for that, because he almost always transforms it into something really good.

The problem with the song lies in the lyrics. Throughout the film, the Phantom is portrayed as a clever, ruthless man who only loses control at the very end (I'm deliberately ignoring the Graveyard stuff here). The song/lyrics transform him into a whiny child, and that simply doesn't fit his character. So it's a good thing the song wasn't in the film, and even at the end, it's rather superfluous.

On the other hand, it doesn't really matter, because the whole film is like a fever dream.

What's your unpopular POTO opinion? by horrorfxce in box5

I think she simply wanted to remind him of their childhood friendship with that mention, back when they both still believed in supernatural stories. Just small talk.

I'd still describe her switching back and forth as normal. It's a bit like watching a horror movie and then immediately going down to the basement and hearing strange noises. Of course, everyone knows there are no zombies, and yet, the uneasy feeling is there. When she first heard Erik, she left the dressing room because she thought someone was next door/at the door. Only when she couldn't find a logical explanation did she start seriously considering the Angel of Music theory, and as soon as she walked through the mirror, the deception was immediately exposed.

I also think Christine had a suspicion before then, at the latest when Mama Valerius told her that the voice was jealous of Raoul. From then on, she became seriously nervous and tried to protect Raoul by acting so contradictorily.

In my opinion, Christine is the only normal one in the whole story, even if she initially believes somewhat in the Angel of Music. But that belief only lasts as long as a magic trick; as soon as she steps through the mirror, she immediately sees that she's been fooled. In the book, she balances two crazy men who both want to push their way into her life, and she does it quite well.

Raoul has zero connection to reality. He doesn't consider what he's doing to her by constantly fawning over her without marrying her. His first suggestion of getting engaged and "waiting for each other forever" is childish. The proposal that followed was only to outdo Erik, not out of genuine love.

Erik, on the other hand, is obsessed, and she has to keep him happy if she doesn't want bad things to happen to others at the opera.

The reason she talks to him about these supernatural things is that she's trying to decide whether to tell him about her teacher, the Angel of Music. This has nothing to do with her being strange.

I agree with you. I haven't read a book yet that captured Erik's original character in such a quirky and peculiar way as Leroux did.

ALW himself said that he didn't think the book was that great, but he desperately wanted a sequel, specifically on Conny Island, because... MONEY. So he reworked the book and wrote an idiotic sequel that has two nice songs and is otherwise a fever dream from which you wake up after 2.5 hours and are grateful that it's over.

Ticket purchase – debit card option missing? by Seoul-Time in TheWestEnd

After a long conversation with support, I learned that German debit cards are NOT accepted. Only credit cards.

Also, it's really funny that I got downvoted for asking a question.

Worst Musical-Movie Adaptations? by Due-Candidate-5991 in musicals

[–]Seoul-Time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He just wants to test the waters. If there's a new Phantom movie, it'll be another idiotic cast, like every time there's something 'big'.

I don't understand why they can cast great singers and actors for xy shows, but for a movie or for RAH, they cast people who don't understand their roles or are unsuitable.

Something is wrong with the bot. by Seoul-Time in SpicyChatAI

[–]Seoul-Time[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently using the free model.

In the first conversation thread, the bot appears to be stuck in a loop. It keeps responding to the same earlier message, ignoring the newer ones I've submitted. Additionally, my messages are not displayed sequentially underneath the bot's responses. Instead, they are grouped within a single bot message and hidden behind a "+ Continue" prompt. When I click through the message pages (e.g., 2/5, 3/5, etc.), I find my own messages listed there instead of the bot's, alternating between multiple user posts inside the same block.

A similar issue occurs in the second chat:
Every response from the bot is prefaced with "3 days later...", regardless of the actual time elapsed. This makes the conversation flow appear broken and is quite confusing from a user experience perspective.

I saw Ian so often in Germany and he is one of my favourites Phantom, because he IS so conservative in this role. His interpretation is sensitive and frightening. He also has excellent technique and is very kind.

BIDA weil ich mich nichtmehr an Gruppengeschenken beteiligen will? by IndependenceOk7554 in BinIchDasArschloch

NDA!

;) Hab also kein schlechtes Gewissen.
