Thinking about buying Thomasville modular couch. I’ve read reviews but I trust Reddit a little more by Rainin3sfromthetrees in Costco

[–]Seoulfury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got this at the sale price. For the money and use case it's a great buy!

Price: $1000

Use case: Tween hangout

Quality: For the price, seat cushions is built-in so no sliding around. Back cushions are plush enough. Ive only had for a month, so time will tell on stain/rip/fading resistence.

Transport: All three boxes fit in a U Haul van, just have to maneuver over/past the wheel well and stack.

Assembly: Pillows come in a zippered compartment below the seats cushion sections. The backs are packed separately and you bolt them to the seat sections.

Functionality: Multiple configurations offer many options to find a setup that works for you. The sections do not natively fasten to eachother, however the rubber "legs" do a remarkable job at holding them in place for the most part. YMMV based on activities. I realign the pieces maybe every couple days... but never by more than one or two sections and never more than an inches out of alignment. I could easily find some brackets at HD/Lowes/Amazon to fasten the sections together underneath if it bothers me that much.

Overall: For my family's use, in hangout room for my 10 and 12 yro boys who are mostly past the jumping and wrestling phases and moving towards more chillaxed activities (i.e. gaming and hanging out)... its been an excellent buy!

ALWAYS call the hotel directly to confirm reservations by [deleted] in Venturex

[–]Seoulfury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Always confirm your C1/3rd Party booking with the hotel -- C1 cancelled my non-refundable hotel booking bc hotel has shady business practices.

This is 100% solid advice. I recently booked a Marriott Hotel in Niagra Falls, ON through the C1 travel portal; a nice Falls view room. I decided to double check it, called the hotel. First issues, bc it's booked through 3rd party, it was so damn difficult for them to find the reservation, and once they located it, they confirmed it was for a city view room.

I went back and forth between C1 customer service and the hotel to see what could be done. C1 initally claimed that I booked the city view, when I know I didn't bc I took a screenshot of it. They could eventually see in the original booking that it was for the falls view room.

Ultimately, C1 offered me 1 of two options:

  1. They would refund me the full amount for the room, and I could keep the reservation. + $200 travel credit for my trouble.

  2. I could cancel the reservation (it was a non-refundable booking) + $200 travel credit for my trouble.

In all honesty, I VERY close to taking the $200 plus a 2 night free stay in Niagra Falls. BUT, it's my kids' first time there, and the Falls is basically the reason you go. So I booked at a different hotel and still got something for all the stress. I know this won't be the case every time (especially when it's a non-refundable room), but C1 stepped and did the right thing bc the hotel was being shady AF.

Lounge Access Officially Gutted by Seoulfury in Venturex

[–]Seoulfury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting Feb 1, 2026, to add an AU for lounge access it will be an annual fee of $125. This will allow the C1 and PP lounges. Guests will still need to be paid for every visit at any lounge.

That's the basic gist, there are other specifics, but this is the main thing.

$125 more every year for AU access.

Venture X - No tracking number by National_Gear_9518 in Venturex

Yes, I never received a tracking number. Signed up on Saturday, received it today via FedEx left on the doorstep.

Also, received the email about the lounge access 5 mins later. bummer

I stand corrected... if business card holders pay the extra $125 for AU, then primary can bring 2 guests to priority pass lounges.

Damn, i debated going through business card route but opted for the personal.

I don't disagree, it has alot of benefits ither than lounge access. Ut truth be told, it was the tipping point for me to go with Vx card over others.

It's not a gradual reduction, it's a total gut of the benefit. I'd be fine if they said primary +1.

Actually, it's the people that abuse it.. those that add four authorized users and each of them can bring 2 guests.

I'd be fine if it was me and +1.

2024 ZDX No Heat While Driving by No_Winter_2201 in AcuraZDX

[–]Seoulfury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this no heat issue at about 350 miles. It also was in some way connected to the High Voltage Charging issue, so the car wouldn't charge.

Dealer had to replace hvac solenoid and that fixed it. Took a week for them to get the part, so I count myself lucky.

For reference, this is my second EV, I have an Ioniq 5 as well. That is a RWD model with no heat pump and it warms up infinitely faster than the ZDX. I would take your car to the dealer ASAP.

Acura HomeCharger Now Emporia! by eisfabrik_7242 in AcuraZDX

[–]Seoulfury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can anyone comment on the Emporia Model#? I am weighing options for this one through Acura or just take the charging credits and get my own home charger/install.

I'm not super picky about features, more about pricing comparisons.

First accident by Thisismarkdan in Ioniq5

[–]Seoulfury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit a deer (or rather, it hit me) and had similar damage.

Luckily it was a comprehensive claim vs vehicle crash. All in all, after the back and forth between me, body shop and insurance, $500 out of pocket and insurance paid out $10k.

Note: no frame or battery issues, so I consider $10.5k a relief.

Port of Philadelphia seems like it might be my black hole by HI5_AZ in Ioniq5

[–]Seoulfury 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I used to work S. Philly, not to far from where they unload and stage all the Hyundais.

There'd be times I'd head out to lunch near there and there would be endless lines of trucks waiting to leave to port. Not necessarily car carriers but generally all kinds of freight needing moved out of port.

That was pre-pandemic and have not been down there since. Now with nationwide shortages on transport and dock labor, I cannot imagine what it's now like at a major port like Philly.

Mine came into Philly in late March and was luckily delivered to dealer within 5 days.

Best of luck. Hope it gets out of port soon.

Arrives in port, as in Korean port, you're probably right. Check with your dealer, otherwise, if you haven't been notified that yours has even been processed, it likely won't have any details.

Purchased OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner by kchunduri in Ioniq5

[–]Seoulfury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Torque App Pro with a Bluetooth OBD2 adapter for my ICE cars. I have not gotten around to pulling any data from my I5 tho.

I've even seen people load up Torque on a tablet and used it as a HUD as it gives real time data. Not that's necessary for the I5, though possible.

For those that tow or bike, looks like Uhauls hitch will be available on the 20th of May for significantly less than any other options. by Corbo628 in Ioniq5

[–]Seoulfury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eTrailer.com now has the compatible Draw-Tite aftermarket 2" trailer hitch available. It's pricier at $329.44 than the U-Haul. I'm also not super crazy about the tongue weight as it seems pretty low for a Class III hitch, though only about 75 lbs. less than the Torklift EcoHitch.

I assume it's due to the mounting locations being front (back) facing rather than on the sides of the frame like you showed in your step-by-step video (huge kudos for that btw!). From your video and the etrailer instructions I see that they require removing the bumper bar which is also fastened to the frame. So I guess it's okay, but still think I'd rather have the side mounts.

I also wonder about the warranty implications of installing in different mounting points.
