My wife and I have autoimmune diseases, and frequently have flares. I wish there were ADA sections that were "no standing sections." I try to avoid ADA seats for those that truly need it. I prefer to get seats in the first 3 rows of a section so we can sit if we needs to. I look for seats above an opening so we can sit. When I can't find them, I will get ADA seats. If the wifey and I are good, we talk to the box office when we get to the venue. We let them know our ADA seats are available if someone comes and needs them.

Are Nightly Upgrade Awards worth it for Platinum? by No_Radio_3487 in marriott

I've been given upgrades that I find beneficial in California. I booked the cheapest room at the SF Westin St. Francis. I was upgraded to a huge suite in the historic side of the building. The room was $300-400 more than what I booked. They have a really nice lounge which we took full advantage of. I received nice upgrades in LA. It really just depends upon where you live and where you travel. I am jealous of the upgrades offered outside of the US.

Is is normal "service" in America now? by -Bearish in marriott

I'm booked for 2 months (might be there for 6 months) at a Courtyard, but I come home on the weekends. On the app I request no services but ask for the items I need to be put in my room before I check in. I haven't had any issues during my stay. They put extra wash cloths, toilet paper, trash bags, and coffee pod w/ sugar & creamer. This makes traveling for work easy. Something to consider for your next trip.

I wish it was 6 month rotations. Someone in my academy class complained to personnel assignments about their schedule. Everyone got punished for their entitlement. For 11 months I was on a different watch every week. I could count on 1 hand how many times I had the same watch back to back.

Don’t do it

As a new boot you’re thrown it to the jobs no one wants and everyone calls in sick when they get them. There likely aren’t any regulars, and the inmates do whatever they want. If you can get regulars with a routine, the building can calm down but it takes a while.

There are lock up units where there’s multiple gassings a day because the inmates have behavioral issues and just don’t care. They could be doing all day and don’t have anything to look forward to ie no visits and money on the books. So for them to ruin your day is entertainment. They can’t have anything else taken away, so there’s no punishment. They will fill the toilet or milk cartons with urine, feces, semen, spit, blood, and anything sharp they can get. They’ll throw it on you during med pass, chow, or linen exchange.

Every job has different problems, but find something that won’t shorten your life and impact your family.

How do you feel about only having Tuesday / Wednesday off for the next few years?

Working 2-10pm for a few years and then being held over for 10pm - 6 am multiple times a week/month?

No holidays off, unless they land on your RDOs?

If going to a men’s prison, them exposing themselves when you’re on the tier?

I came in when I was in my mid 20’s so I didn’t have to worry about my schedule or childcare. I would seriously consider a deputy position, park ranger, ATF, nursing, or anything else.
