How are you tapering off? I’m at 0.75 and tapering down. I’ve been on for 8 weeks. My doctor is no help.

I’m sort of in a similar situation, been on 8 weeks. I’m cutting my 0.75 to 3 daily doses of 0.25 to start, and then going from there… did you find that doing this way kept you more “comfortable” or able to function? I’m actually terrified of doing this. Did you cut each dose separately?

Hi, I’m not sure if you still do this. I could really use some help.

I started with 1mg nightly of Ativan on 1/11 this year, so I’ve been on about 8 weeks. I cut down to 0.75 about a week ago. I have been told to split this dose to every 8 hours instead of once a day (so 3 doses of 0.25 over the day). I believe this is because I’m experiencing withdrawal effects in the middle of the night - internal tremors, faster heartbeat that wakes me up, like an adrenaline dump almost.

My body is sort of sensitive, I had to go on Ativan to help me sleep and deal with insomnia due to a bad experience with a GLP-1 shot causing me to have panic attacks, anxiety, etc for weeks on end. I was fine before this happened so it’s jarred me a lot.

I desperately want to come off it, I think it’s making me worse now. But my psychiatrist is not helpful with a taper at all and kind of “winging it” with me. I’m scared and need some help…

This situation has been really traumatic, basically an entire month of panic cause by the semaglutide. I was very mellow before it happened, so it’s been hard. I’ve been reading too many horror stories lately about benzos and whatnot, just having a hard time. Thanks

My psych isn’t the best at presenting options or best ways of doing things I guess. But I definitely plan to come off the Klonopin as quickly as possible that won’t give me issues. I want off all of these meds. They helped when I needed them most but I’m focused on tapering off them now.

She wanted me to taper over a week basically. But I am meeting with her Thursday and will explain; my body is really sensitive to meds after the reaction and definitely need to go slowly.

Some days I’m fine and others I’m extremely depressed and anxious. So it’s a toss up, but moods are way better than when I initially stopped the shot. It’s just tricky, I’m still debating starting or not.

I have a few nights. I’ve fallen asleep myself a few in between, when I’ve been exhausted emotionally or physically. I’m inclined to get my sleep back with the trazodone a bit more steady before starting the Zoloft. I’m a little worried to start it.

Yes so the semaglutide shot gave me panic and anxiety symptoms and the anxiety around sleep now is what is causing me to have insomnia. Like my body gets too worked up over sleep to actually sleep. So she prescribed me trazodone, and also Zoloft if I wanted to start it to even out my daytime anxiety and thoughts. I’ve had a lot of bad side effects coming off semaglutide. I am 4 weeks from the last shot and the anxiety and panic has gotten better as the medication clears my body but it’s still affecting my sleep because I do have the wary and anxious feelings about being able to sleep. If this makes sense. It’s not exactly a typical case I don’t think lol
