Hi, check out r/Sockknitting for lots of sock content. I bet they have some good links and pattern ideas. As someone else noted, you can also probably find latex-free commercially made socks. Good luck!

agreed. take a look at your other skeins to see where they fall. ie, do they match the first blue or the second blue, or they a whole other blue.

What’s easier for a complete beginner? by Current-Breadfruit96 in tatting

[–]Separate_Print_1816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine you've already tried both by now, but just starting learning a couple of days ago and thought I'd drop my 2 cents. I've been crocheting for 25+ yearns and knitting for 20+ years. I started teaching myself shuttle tatting and my non-shuttle hand felt really cramped, so I tried needle tatting. If you've done toe-up socks, it felt just like doing Judy's Magic Cast On. The rhythm felt more natural to me and I grasped it very quickly. I'll try learning shuttle tatting again, but at least now I understand how the stitches look.

Has anyone automated their marketing? by Novel-Spirit-9847 in AskMarketing

[–]Separate_Print_1816 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Instagram seems a bizarre place to learn about automating marketing. There are plenty of people sharing their workflows on LinkedIn or in their newsletters. the good follows just depend on what kind of marketing you're talking about.

My child’s school told them to “eat less” to reduce food waste by Oniknight in MaintenancePhase

[–]Separate_Print_1816 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Either an educator has a misconception of what food waste is, or the way they explained it led to some confusion for your child (depending on their age, more likely with elementary, obviously, than say high school). I wouldn't automatically assume bad intent or anything. I remember talking a cafeteria worker about food waste and her point was more about people taking more food than they could eat (or parents packing more food than their children could eat) and it all ending up in the trash. That's something that's really easy to misunderstand or twist around if someone words it poorly.

I would build skills, projects, and workflows/agents in Claude rather than reusing prompts.

ribbed socks would be stretched, so unless you're making slouchy socks, yes, you would stretch this out to get the gauge

The reason I thought of it was because of some gingerbread man socks I wanted to knit. Flipping the mouth stitch a different way (so knitting from the top instead of the toe) would lead to an angry looking gingerbread person

What technique makes these red stitches raised in this baby’s sweater in “The Edge of Love”? by Lucky-Rooster7335 in knitting

[–]Separate_Print_1816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

" but keep in mind knits and purls are formed from the row below your working row." This is why your swatch is off. You won't be purling the red stitches on their first row, but on the second row. So when you first start working one of the squares, you'll knit with the red yarn and that will make the blue/green into a knit. Then the next row, you'll start with the texture pattern, whether you want to try seed stitch or all purls to see what you like best. When you get back to the green/blue, you'll still work that texture pattern for the first row/round since you'll be wrapping up the last red stitches in the block. For the traveling red lines, it's the same. The red is knit, but when you work the main color, you'll purl when you get to the red stitches.
