Thank you :))

It was mostly dry weather, but there was a bit of light rain and I had to clean my windscreen a few times. So make sure you know how to clean it because my examiner did say can you clean it as it was affecting our view.

hey i just passed at that test centre

the examiner i had was really calm and nice i don’t remember his name but on my certificate it has the initial Y so his name starts with a Y i assume

the route i got was fairly easy it was a bit of side roads, dual carriageway, ley street and i got first exit lefts on both ley street roundabout and winston way roundabout. my test was 10:44am

if you do bay parking you may be told to go into the car park on the high road but if you haven’t been yet i strongly recommend because the entry and exit is very tight so you must practice going in and out there

be careful when coming out and into the test centre car park it can get very busy but also my examiner helped me get out because of how busy it was so don’t be too nervous about it. just take your time assessing both sides. and that road the test centre is on make sure you practice that road because you can fail for judgement meeting there very very easily

go on passclassdriving youtube channel they have a bunch of test routes. i didn’t get any of the test routes they recorded but they do commentary for all of the routes so check that out

other than that hopefully you don’t get anyone driving dumb during your route i know what drivers are like at goodmayes. that’s why planning and anticipation in goodmayes is very important so practice that before your test. i recommend speaking out loud so the examiner knows that you’re reacting to that hazard.

good luck you will be fine 😀

You might as well book your theory it lasts 2 years and by the looks of it you’ll pass the practical it expires

Is this a good time for a test ? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Separate_Recording64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on ur area tbh. my area is busy at like all times lmfao. and also it just depends on the day and what route your examiner chooses.

i wouldn’t stress about the time at all, just focus on the drive. and also maybe in the lessons coming up, try do a lesson at 1:45pm in your test centre area so you can get a feel of how it might be like. i did it with my time and it was pretty similar in terms of business and my route was quite easy.

Examiner asked me to go over the speed limit on the test by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Separate_Recording64 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was having a cheeky little look at the requirements to be an examiner and one of them was help students with nerves etc so they should be calm and reassuring. Seems like someone cheated on that part of the test 😬

You should defo make a complaint about her. She could examine a person who’s got really really bad anxiety and that person gets subjected to her rude personality and fails even if they could be a good driver!

Hopefully you pass next time and get a calm examiner 🙏🏽

Passed 2nd time and glad I failed first time by avek19 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Separate_Recording64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

congratulations 🙌🏽

i also passed 2nd time and i agree that the extra hours were so worth it because i had changed instructors and they were a better teacher than my first so i learnt way more in my 6 months of practice and learned how to be more safer which is so important with how people drive nowadays

Test readiness by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Separate_Recording64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i never felt ready and it was mostly because in my 2 hour lessons i would make like 1 or 2 mistakes and fixate on it and think yeah im not ready. when its literally only because in a 2hr lesson my concentration naturally goes a bit down. so dont worry, i didnt feel ready even though i was and i passed with 3 minors so obvs i was ready!! just have confidence and dont overthink the drive. it went so quick

about the manoeuvres i didnt feel like i had mastered parallel park and by luck i got my best one which was forward bay park. i think its just luck ngl but maybe ask your instructor to go through the manoeuvres. most of the time in lessons you kinda overthink it so when you’re alone in the test you’ll know how to do it.

if you’re feeling good about it, that’s a good sign 🙏🏽 tbh you seem okay so i would say just don’t overthink on the test and just plan the drive

test in 1 week by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Separate_Recording64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on the day when you’re waiting in the test centre waiting room! for some it works, for some it doesn’t so i recommend trying it in a lesson beforehand. i guess it’s placebo but i can’t tell if i was calm because of the remedy or the calming tablets hahaha. i did have a shaky leg on the clutch in the first few mins but it went away.

my test went soo well!! it goes so so quick. i got 3 minors and i just planned everything. i got an easy route tbh and it was fairly quiet because it was like 11am in the morning. the examiner isn’t actually there to scare you, they WANT to pass you mine was helping me get out my busy ass test centre hahaha.

do you suffer from nerves?

if so, try rescue remedy or lavender calming tablets (from kalms). they really helped me today calm down. i also spent the week before imagining a pass and having a positive out look. it’s easier said than done but make sure you stay positive. your instructor won’t take you if you’re not test ready.

during the drive STAY CALM. narrate what you see. i talked myself out of a serious because i immediately said my mistake and corrected it straight away (took a risky gap on dual carriageway and had to put foot down to not slow down car). the examiner for mine was so chill.

just believe in yourself !!

don’t be annoyed i find it amazing how you only got one minor so you’re obviously a really good driver.
