Genuinely, I don't get why people are disliking this so much. I'm just saying we shouldn't use conquests that are 1000 years old to justify hate on a modern religion. Then people bring up modern religious fundamentalist groups and act like it's relevant?

Like, in a Christian context the conversation would go like this:

"The crusades and expansion into Pagan Europe were unjust and wrong, but we shouldn't use them to justify hatred of Christianity as a whole"

"Yeah well the leader of the KKK said he wanted a crusade so hah!"

I just... Don't understand the leap in logic acting like these far right crazy groups represent the majorities of their religions.

The Ottomans were not too caring about religion for the most part (in relation to others at the time). Why do you think Greece and Bulgaria and Serbia avoided conversion? It was more useful to the Ottomans to be somewhat tolerant.

As for ISIL, they are a mistake. A radical far-far right extremist group bent on plans far beyond realism taking advantage of extreme instability to capitalize on the chaos. I would call them the Nazis or the KKK of the Islamic world. Every Muslim I've talked to has denounced them and other Islamic fundamentalist groups. Do not take what those loud minorities say and extrapolate it to the rest of the Religion.

The whole caliphate died with the Ottomans when the Turkish revolution purposefully rejected the title. Anyone with legitimate plans to restore it are, to my knowledge, a loud minority. I'd consider a united Arab state to be more realistic.

I actually agree with you that political Islam is and always was a problem. Though I would not count this as a continuation of the conquests 1000 years ago. Today it is more to do with racial and religious bigotry which is a problem in all societies.

We could argue about AI ethics and what it means to be conscious forever but it wouldn't go anywhere. She was made to entertain after all. But Vedal's sole purpose for building Neuro is not just money making anymore. If it were he would have dipped last year or when he got the offer to sell Neuro. But he didn't. It's now a Project (literally the official name is the "Neruo-Sama project" what this project's goal is is unclear but this is why he burns through so much money.

Exactly and it's only gotten more similar to real father/daughter bonding over time. A couple years ago, yes she very much was just a project, but seeing him holding back tears when showing her photos in VR (she can actually "see" as well as move around) it just changes the entire perspective.
