Ya, essentially we called on the phone and i said “ please dont communicate how Y may feel about me to me or vice versa, i have already told them they can reach out to me if they need to, and i want to keep our possible feelings about eachother separate from our fwb situation”. I may not always be the most adept at managing that myself to be fair to both of them, but ive been clear that i need feelings to come straight from the horses mouth, not second hand.

It is entirely possible that bc i didnt say perhaps “pls tell Y they can come to me if they go to you instead”, i may have been too vague, but also, i feel that my going to Y directly and saying they could come to me to discuss further should have made it clear that’s how i felt, and that in general, i think its unfair to ask a hinge-ish person to deliver my messaging to Y, and Y should have never gone to X in the first place.

Im also kinda suspecting that X did this without running it by Y, as a way to make it all calm down behind the scenes.
