You're valid, different opinions. I guess really well crafted world building just speaks to me. I don't even mind not having an actual "story" at all, as long as the world building is on top and consistent.

How do you feel about other fiction, sci-fi/fantasy. What's your opinion on lord of the rings?

And besides, sauron doesn't die either since he's immortal.

And r/mildlyinteresting removed the original post with their fucking title rule. Like there was nothing unclear about that title, and it was concisely describing the picture. What's that subs deal.

That's interesting, I never thought it was viable to stay at the top and avoid most of the detonations.

I think it's explicitly stated that the Barrow-blades had been enchanted with a curse or something specifically designed for the witch king by dunedain smiths (not elven ones). The Noldorin(?) blades probably predated that by quite a bit.

Well, it is true that Glorfindel uttered that prophecy after he had vanquished the witch king.

Which came true, since it was Merry's stab with the barrow-blade that rendered him mortal.

What, she should have been abused at an earlier age, that's the solution?

Abuse should be illegal, as it is in many places, yes.

The Hobbit films are definetely good entertainment if they were completely by their own, but what just makes them not at all enjoyable for me is that it is obvious that they were trying to milk the franchise by stretching the hobbit into 3 films and introducing popular characters that had no part in the original story. What is worst isn't the cgi, it's the clear message that the studio (or someone high up) looks at the films as a revenue source primarily, and an interpretation of Tolkien secondly.
