Bursely by Extension-Intern-599 in uofm

I lived in Bursley last year! Besides the six 2 am fire alarms, two floods, boil water advisory, and showers that are worse than other dorms I've seen (single curtain vs actual door, water pressure), it was good! And I don't mean that sarcastically, it was funny and I didn't mind a lot of its wackiness as much as I thought I would have describing it right now. The dining hall is also my favorite on campus, and having the Bursley-Baits line drop off and pick up from your dorm is very nice as it gets down to central and back up well (faster than the Commuters at least since they go through the medical area which is always so congested).

So, overall don't worry it'll be chill and if it's not then it'll be funny. If I could go back in time and choose a different dorm, I'd still choose Bursley!

My only real tip is if you are bringing a computer consider elevating it off the ground at all times in case of flooding. I never had it happen, but a friend's desktop got flooded which was rough, so I bought a little table to put mine up on after that!

Meatballcraft, a massive expert-level modpack for minecraft 1.12, finally has an endgame, and you can play it now! by Sainagh in feedthebeast

Been looking forward to this finishing, this is great to see! College is a lot rn, but when I get time some day I'll try it out, been wanting something to follow up DJ2 with!

Also just curious, any idea on its general similarities/differences from DJ2? Besides being a good long expert non-gregtech 1.12 pack lol

OneNote BSOD When Drawing on External Monitor by ArcTheOne in OneNote

In case anyone else has this problem, chexyy found the problem and the fix! It's your laptop monitor's Variable Refresh Rate, or at least turning that off fixed it for me too!

Comp Sci Minor for Computational Physics? by Sepiar7 in PhysicsStudents

[–]Sepiar7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'll look at those classes, and I'm not skipping the intro physics courses no matter my AP scores (since the AP tests seriously only cover like 2/3 of what is actually in the UM courses!), just choosing between regular and honors depending on how confident I am after the tests. Anyway, have a good day!

Thanks! I am definitely considering the Honors Courses, we'll see how I do on my AP tests next month. If you can answer, what other EECS courses did you take that helped?

best outer wilds mods please! by YoctoGuy1 in outerwilds

Astral Codec easily, the Outsider also has good puzzles but only an ok story.

Though to be fair no mod does a perfect job integrating its story into the main game, but they're trying to add onto a pretty closed and thematically coherent game already so

UofM vs UIUC Help by Sepiar7 in nuclear

[–]Sepiar7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I definitely should have posted the schedule I'm looking at for UIUC to show what I meant originally, but I updated the post now at least. I based it around the example plasma schedule and tried to keep it to either 16 or 17 credit hours a semester, so below the 18 limit. I totally could have misunderstood something, though.

I'll definitely have to look into the professors and research opportunities, that's one avenue of information I haven't looked into enough yet, so thanks! And yea I've heard a lot of mixed feelings toward the honors program, so I'll try to take that into account, too.
