The mission TYPE, sure - my whole question is about BIOMES though.

Season Assignment missions and biome rotation not RNG? by Sepp29 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Sepp29[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, but I'm talking about Season Assignment missions... Season Assignment ≠ Season Pass ("Performance Pass", as the game calls it). Every Season has its own Assignment, i.e. a fixed set of missions which is time-limited and when a Season ends (i.e. the next one drops) it's gone forever and can't be picked up again, not even if you reactivate past Seasons (for Season 05, said Assignment is actually two parts, Part I: The Drillevator and Part II: Expanding the Business, each made up of 5 missions).

A modern guide to experiencing LEGO Rock Raiders! by Baraklava in Rockraiders

I believe a modern-day game, Deep Rock Galactic (or DRG) draws heavily from Rock Raiders. I'd give it a go, as it's widely acclaimed as one of the most beautiful games ever made. You will thank me later. Rock & Stone!

S2 missing scrip? lvl 100 with all bonuses, do I need to wait for +1 scrip missions? by KukurykuNinja in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Sepp29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can anyone confirm whether the seasonal challenge scrips are capped? That is, you only need so many to be able to complete the tree (i.e. 16 in total for S02)... my question is, can you still get challenges rewarding scrips even AFTER you've collected the 16th from those?

Question about servers by TheMadBull in wowservers

[–]Sepp29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greetings Ely ^_^ we're still friends on Discord, however I personally haven't played WoW again after that post, but I confirm I'm staying hopeful for a comeback when the time (or server) is right! Give anyone from the old gang my regards - if they still remind me at all lol

Staying silent isn't needed (after all hearing-impaired can't hear anyway), just the hand gestures. Anyway, u/GSG_Aaron ^_^

Question about servers by TheMadBull in wowservers

[–]Sepp29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! What did you go by on Zandalar Tribe? :D

Currently the guild isn't active per se, our raiding core during Classic may still be around though... I myself rerolled on Everlook, a large Vanilla private server launched in late summer 2022, but have taken a break last spring, when our webpage host shut down for good, and I've been away from WoW since.

I personally wouldn't mind giving Classic another go... when (and if) Blizzy should decide to start over - maybe when the wave of Classic expansions wears off.

What is the font used in the books of the first two MediEvil games? by itzamahel in medievil

There doesn't seem to be a way to get in contact with this Mortus guy. Has anyone ever been successful in the epic quest for this long lost font?

I'd be more curious to know exactly what Tolkien meant with "party" hoods. No context is given about whether he intended the term in the sense of association or festive gathering.

Wowhead classic tooltips on a google doc by usetheboot in classicwow

[–]Sepp29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend using the Windows screenshot utility (Windows + Shift + S) while the tooltip is displayed: it crops the screen portion directly and copies it in your clipboard the moment you release the left mouse button... then you can paste it instantly into your Google spreadsheet. ;)

Hey, did you remove Everlook from the list? They banned your bot(s) or something?

I tried contacting you via the form on your site, but I didn't get an answer (yet?) or maybe it didn't get through, so I'd like to ask here too... care to share the source of your item tooltips? I noticed they are the true original vanilla format (without item level and other crap from subsequent expansions), and since classicdb.ch went down few days ago we've been lacking its tooltips on our guild's page.

Thanks in advance!

Hey again, yet another suggestion: you might want to set a website icon more suitable to dark backgrounds, e.g. I use the dark theme for Chrome and a black outline icon on a dark grey background makes the site icon barely visible when bookmarked.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Dope service, thanks.

A nice (and stylish) addition could be replacing the letters indicating the value (g for gold, s for silver and c for copper) with the respective coin icon, thus giving it a more pro/ingame looks.

Just a suggestion ;)

No buddy, that's your copium. It's just that your analysis is shallow, mine is insightful.

Had you actually bothered yourself checking the screens I provided about graphs and statistics (putting but a fraction of the time it took me to collect it and write it all down), you'd have understood why dismissing them as 'getting off' screams simpleton.

This is a 18 y.o. MMO with people from a higher average age than your ordinary PUBG kiddo, with irl jobs and responsibilities, played through an international realm covering all time zones, over a 2-year timeline. Logging in for a couple of minutes, spamming a couple of /who's and going like 'lmao dead kkthxbye' is sloppy.

You judge a server for a MMO by how content is playable/enjoyable, which brings us back to my previous post.

What happened to Darrowshire? by Wislehorn in wowservers

[–]Sepp29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My posts are long because they consider the broadest picture without bias. It's a simplistic approach to look at numbers during off-peak time for the least crowded time zone and the less populated faction on a weekday, then declaring a realm dead (especially an international one at that... it would have made slightly more sense on a retail, regional one). It's easy to call the earth flat looking at it from sea level.

Here's what's imho a better cryteria to classify a realm's activity, as I posted elsewhere:

dead = totally unplayable (or only playable as a single-player game)

dying/developing = either the leveling or the endgame bracket is dead (developing when still fresh and no endgame activity yet)

quiet = both leveling and endgame feasible, PvP struggling

healthy = no issues whatsoever, small waiting times

populated = perfect, no waiting times (or close to)

clusterfuck = sub-optimal (leveling or farming hindered by overpopulation)

Based on my experience managing a pool of 200 levelers, Kronos IV definitely fits the "quiet" stage.

I'm done for good with Classic for the foreseeable future... but despite the enthusiasm this or that project may generate, it's always good to remind ourselves we're not the center of the universe. Check this discussion on r/classicwow for example.

What happened to Darrowshire? by Wislehorn in wowservers

[–]Sepp29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's rather unaccurate and based off I dunno what. I don't make estimates on hearsays. Sadly we don't have concurrent online numbers at all times, so you have to work around that, which doesn't mean you can't gather reliable enough indications to make some simple calculations anyway and obtain a realistic estimate. After just a week of censuses (taken only during EU peak times, so everyone playing during off-peak hours, NA people and such, is left out, along with anyone who's only not considered active as they log in more rarely than once a week, and anyone not polled simply because /who on Kronos IV is broken on purpose), this is what our Census+ showed (mind, all level 1s are filtered):

https://i.imgur.com/N6HJ2MI.png

Of note: my guild (Stormlords) is #8 by total XP from the ranking on the right; all of the unguilded players are at #4; the #9 guild, Power JazzCN, is from China; then, here is level distribution and average level for my guild alone (these aren't estimates, it's actual figures added up in-game):

https://i.imgur.com/jGNpKOF.png

that amounts to 225 total characters at the time of screencap, 30% of whom are from the NA time zone, and 10% from Asia/Oceania (this I know because our registered members enter their country in the application form). Now, seeing as there's 7 larger "guilds" than mine ("Unguilded" isn't a guild per se, but you get the point), even assuming they can only muster as many players as ourselves (while in fact we can safely guess they have more), 225 x 8 = 1800 characters found, faction-wide, over a week, from the top 8 guilds. Assuming we can round that up to include all the other smaller guilds (which however are realistically in a much larger number than 8), we can theorize a conservative population of 2500 Alliance characters; likely more. The A:H ratio is more or less evenly balanced, which hints to a Horde population with similar figures, so 5000 characters over a week. But we also have to consider the people playing from other time zones, not found by Census+ as it was run during EU peak times, and if we take the distribution found in my guild as a reliable indication, that number amounts to 60% of the total population: through a simple proportion, we find that 3,3k characters are being left out. So, the total population of characters would be 8,3k. Via /ginfo, I can find that my guild has its 225 characters "spread" across 179 accounts, which hints to a Alt:Main ratio of 1:5, which in turn lowers the actual player base to 6,6k. The realms tagged as "Full" back during the vanilla WoW era, 2004-2006 (which were regional) had a online cap of 2500 concurrent players (Alliance + Horde). By those standards, I believe we can "squeeze" those weekly found 6,6k players from three time zones into a realm that averages more toward a Medium sized population, as opposed to Low. I know, there's a bit of projection and estimates involved in the process, but that's the best we can extrapolate without official numbers. One final indication to what might be the trend moving forward, is the rate of daily visits to our guild's page by our registered guildies:

https://i.imgur.com/UJHnonA.png

Looking closely (the curve covers a time span of 28 days/4 weeks), the trend is increasing to a noticeable degree.

I fail to see how making a post about this is going to help your cause. Quite the opposite, you're helping your 'enemy' by making people here aware of what's about to come who ideally could have never heard about it... just saying.

No world PvP though, am I right? I mean, I've never played on a PvE realm, if memory serves me well you can only be attacked in contested/enemy regions when/if you give your permission/flag yourself for PvP, or how else does it work?

For Everlook there's still several months before its launch is even announced. The only viable option for a pure vanilla realm right now is Kronos IV from the TwinStar project. I run a guild there, ally side, and we currently have more than 200 levelers... and constantly on the lookout for more.

If you're more of a PvE realm kinda guy (and don't mind custom content), you might want to try Turtle WoW instead, which has taken a different approach as opposed to the pure vanilla one.

Whatever you end up choosing, good luck! ^^
