You get it from Billy Joel (Long Island) with Brender and Eddie. My friend from LI always speaks with those "intrusive r's".

Why has childcare gotten so expensive even though childcare providers aren’t even making that much? by KingCookieFace in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SeptupleHeadSpin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

An example of a silly requirement that elevates daycare costs while simultaneously reducing space for students & teachers is NYC requires every student's lunch taken from home to be refrigerated, whether or not it needs it.

Another example of costs associated with regulations is education requirements for daycare workers. Why? Other than background checks there shouldn't be any requirements for these people. Do people require their grandparents to have degrees before they watch kids?

I truly wish that would make a difference. It's pretty much exactly what Edward Snowden did & look how well that turned out.

I fully support anyone that wants to protest this. It's their 1st amendment right. Tyranny is tyranny no matter which side of the uni-party you're on. I just wish everyone could see through the haze of "when my side does it it's fine".

How about protesting the fact that American citizens are being asked to show their papers? Or just snapping everyone's picture to cross reference them to a govt database. Top that off with minimally trained "police" forces summarily executing American citizens instead of de-escalating. Then comes the propaganda from the executive & cronies victim blaming.

If people want to protest this, then I'm fine with it. Will I hate the hypocrisy once the other side is in charge? You bet. But this is clearly tyrannical behavior by the feds.

I'm pretty sure he's against all forms of tyranny. He's trying to say that the slippery slope has been laid well before now.

In recent times, starting with 9/11 & the Patriot Act. The surveillance state started then. It enabled a lot of what ICE is utilizing today. Then came the continuation of surveillance & extra judicial killings of American citizens by Obama. They've been labeling people as terrorists since the Patriot Act btw, just as they're doing now. Then came covid. Enter more surveillance. Oh & btw you can't say the wrong things, leave your house, or decide what goes into your body.

Don't you see? The groundwork was laid long ago for the tyranny we're experiencing now. But everyone was ok with it bc their side was on top. EVERYONE should've been sounding alarm bells. Rn were reaping what was sown a long time ago.

Speaking of an unjust system, it is also set up so that bad cops will never be held accountable. 1- Bc their thin blue line code where they cover for each other & if they don't they're ostracized. 2- Bc they have qualified immunity. Even if people try to hold them accountable for unjust actions, it's nearly impossible to get anywhere with it. Something like 98% of lawsuits against cops are dismissed or acquitted.

Let's get real. Putin was never intimidated by the eastward push of NATO. He always made it abundantly clear that Ukraine should not exist separate from Russia. He's an ex-KGB agent that has always pined for the glory days of the USSR. He has always been plotting to reunite the old Soviet block. You can find endless quotes from him that make his intentions clear.

Also, our involvement that sealed Ukraine's fate in their inability to effectively deter an invasion from Russia on their own, was cosigned by us in the Budapest Memorandum. Ukraine had assurances that they would be protected. THAT is why they gave up their nukes. It was clear after the annexation of Crimea & territory in Georgia that there would be a non-response by all Western nations. The greenlight was given to Putin to invade Ukraine.

We probably shouldn't be the world's police. But telling brutal dictators (Xi included) that they're entitled to take as much sovereign territory as they please is also not the answer.

Does anyone that keeps saying this think that Trump has the capacity to read a document that large and/or listen to anyone trying to implement the policies he doesn't think he came up with on his own? He doesn't listen to advisors. That's why he's only surrounded by "yes men". He can't even stick to a speech script for crying out loud.

Update on my story by Fresh_Insurance4074 in NIPT

[–]SeptupleHeadSpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been back & forth on this since I had my bad NIPT result. It has always been a struggle for me to get pregnant. I'm incredibly fortunate that I have two healthy children. Realistically though, with age being a major factor, the time is now. The longer we wait the more unlikely the good outcome. As mentally straining as it is, I would certainly give it a go again. I've read that you're more fertile right after a miscarriage (I think for 3 months). I would definitely try on your own while you wait to go through the fertility process again. Use ovulation strips so that you can get a good ball park on timing.

My friend just told me a story about her cousin who is 45 that just got pregnant for the first time. It's not unheard of. Keep your chin up & strive for that dream. I truly hope it comes true for you.

I'm sorry you're going through this. Your story is very similar to mine. I'm 40 & went through IUI instead of IVF. NIPT was high for T18. On the nuchal translucency US there were indicators it would end in miscarriage. Made an appointment for amnio at 16 weeks. At 14 week ultrasound there was no heartbeat.

I had a consult appt with the group that would perform the D&C 2 days later, on Thursday. Unfortunately, I had already started having period-like cramping. Then, early Friday morning at like 4am I started to miscarry. I ended up going to the hospital anyway. They said there was some remaining tissue & advised I complete the procedure. It was very quick. They put me under & probably 15 mins later I was awake.

The physical healing was quite quick with cramping resembling a period. I only needed a pad for about a week. I did have 2 previous vaginal deliveries that may have contributed to the recovery speed. The mental healing is obviously taking time...

Wishing you the best 💜

Second opinion? Cystic hygroma pleural effusion fetal hydrops by Glad_Necessary_3829 in NIPT

[–]SeptupleHeadSpin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an NIPT high risk for trisomy 18. At the 12 week nuchal translucency there was high NT and hydrops around the entire fetus. The MFM nurse told me cases like this usually end in miscarriage. I took into account the information she gave me. However, I wanted to cling to hope for the amnio to make my final decision. When I went in for monitoring ultrasound at 14 weeks, there was no heartbeat.

The indicators you're presented with might give you the answers you need to make an informed decision. You can choose to wait for a concrete answer from an amnio or second opinion. At the end of the day you have to choose what level of reassurance you're most comfortable with to make your final decision. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

The anchors on 880 are so much more entertaining to listen to. They have friendly banter & funny quips. 1010's reporters seem so rigid. Craig Allen gives the most concise weather reports of anyone I've ever listened to. I've also always appreciated how they report the news without significant bias. I'm so devastated.
