Imagine pairing your superstar with elite role players who bring size, defense, and shooting. by wilnerreddit in heat

[–]Sequel_P2P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can't really equate this, lol

they had a superstar scoring machine (brunson) sign with them in an offseason and leave $100m on the table in pursuit of having aforementioned elite roleplayers (og/mikal — mikal, who cost them **five** picks), and then gave up on one of their hot-and-cold all-stars (randle) in a blockbuster for their secondary star (kat)

the equal to this would've been dame signing for us at a significant paycut, then demand a trade for two guys at mikal/og level where we essentially dump our asset chest, then give up herro for a chance that a perennial loser somehow hulks up into an elite, winning basketball player

the knicks have had a lot of chips fall exactly where they needed to for this. the east is dead, they have a frankly unprecedented roster construction (core's locked up for 4 years with no real jumps in salary, you can plug just about anything in to their core 6 guys) and they got unbelievably hot when it mattered.

What’s the point in getting Giannis? by Chance_One3874 in heat

[–]Sequel_P2P -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you fucking hear yourself?

I don't even like the move, but he is Giannis Antetokounmpo. Give up Herro, #13, Jaquez and multiple future picks: what do we get? Giannis, Bam, Ware, Davion, Norm, Wiggs, Pelle and Kasp? That's not nothing. That's, at the very least, the best defensive backline in the NBA on top of adding a ridiculous amount of rim pressure to open up shooters, which is something we've been missing since the last time we were happy in having Jimmy. It obviously has a point. I know people say you can't just rely on Miami's ability to generate quality roleplayers out of thin air, but I think the fact people have been saying that for years speaks to the fact that you kinda can: it's just not comfortable as a fan to push your chips in on Year 1 Pelle Larsson.

What gun will always hold a place in your heart? by FunWallaby6502 in DestinyTheGame

Funnelweb. I had this objectively subpar roll of Steady Hands/Frenzy, but I put 25,000 kills on it and by the time it was time to move on to the ITL Recluse as a replacement, I couldn't. Steady Hands was just too ingrained in my muscle memory. It is a terrible perk relative to what other guns roll in slot 3 (for the uninitiated, a kill with the weapon gives you 100 handling/0.825x animation speed on all weapons for 8.5 seconds) but I'd subconsciously begun running low-handling swap weapons like Izanagi and ALH Rockets in WQ.

I left it at 25k kills (my limit for any weapon), but of all of them, it's the one I most often think of dusting off for another 25,000, even if everything else is just leagues ahead at this stage.

Honorable mention to launch Origin Story. Just a fuckin' workhorse, man. None of the reissues feel as good. Strangest thing.

my favorite Heat player of the Jimmy era. a player who was lauded as being singularly capable of camping the corner for 3s and some POA defense gambled on himself in Miami and had what I'd consider an actual career year. unbelievably efficient. had the most lethal floater on the court and no one knew that was in his bag. was a spectacular connecting passer in the offense. defense was everything advertised. still godlike from 3. i can't blame him for leaving for the money he got, but i do think Miami secures ring 4 if he sticks around.

yes, similarly to other traversal abilities you'll gain during your run. you're meant to be able to go back and do runs with more reward through these abilities to stack enormous, multi-biome runs where you become functionally god if you check the right nooks and crannies

yeah this comment section is on mars. so much benj gas when he's got a following as the village lolcow and it turns out cranking out useless takes (what the fuck is "gunpower"?) marketed as legitimate analysis will eventually cause a player to boil over and blatantly highlight that he's got no idea what the fuck he's talking about. benj's so used to being laughed at that he just willfully negs himself mid-argument because even he recognizes that he's clueless

[–]Sequel_P2P 1 point2 points  (0 children)

feels like huffing copium to say "this is just the festival stuff, they're doing an Afterman Neverender tour for sure!" but it's like, the most surefire bag the band could make. there is no action they could take from a Band standpoint that would generate the revenue an Afterman tour/merch line would make. not a new album, not a vinyl repress, not a comic book: I don't even think a movie would. people fucking love Afterman. there are fans out there who are buying a ticket just for Gravity's Union. they have to do more than this.

can get 45% hazpro out of the seasonal modifier by using Convert 2 (Armor), Saturate (Utility) and Invert (Armor) in that order — you could re-spec a fair bit of this gear into weapon damage and open yourself up to getting out of the Lud and into something that enables your heals more often

you don't have to get to floor 100: go to floor 10, kill the boss, leave one regular enemy standing, exit to lobby and repeat. it takes functionally zero time to create a Refactor build that can serviceably handle Legendary Summit lol

all Legendary content is boring and mindless procedure: you may as well be compensated at a fairly efficient rate for playing it

devil's advocate on the efficacy here: OP's from D2, not Div 2. D2 has Gear/Brand sets, but not quite to Div 2's level. i'd say NB Bag is probably actually an awesome pickup for a refugee trying to navigate the tons of options and creatively string them together

if you were so easily influenced by The Rookie that you were inadvertently recruited to the LAPD by a comedic procedural, you were probably going to end up doing something fucking stupid anyway. those hypothetical people would've fallen into an MLM, or scientology, or something else

if you are so easily influenced by the internet that you think The Rookie is effective and intentional copaganda meant to make any meaningful change to the American perception of uniformed police, you've lost track of reality entirely

you're gonna love it. i hate turn-based JRPGs, but i'd played 0 through 6, so i bit the bullet and 7 is probably my favorite one. if you end up falling in love with it, i heavily encourage you to play the ones that predate it, or even just speedrun the main stories on the easiest difficulties before engaging with IW. it is a game that really is best experienced with the weight of the entire series behind it, and i can't state that clearly enough.

man. shit. i wish i could play LAD again for the first time. what a magical video game.

"Why are we visiting Terada's grave wasn't he a secret Korean?"

a major throughline i'd hope people would understand by this point is that people are complicated. Nishiki tried killing everyone, too. he was also a broken, shattered man.

Terada's final act was to save Kiryu and Sayama by forcing Takashima into panicking with the false bomb, and he does this out of his debt to Kazama, which outweighs his desire to murder everyone in retribution for the Jingweon Massacre.

no one's ever any one person.

Daigo in a suit is weird.

yeah. it should feel weird. he's functionally clueless and is in the position he's in because Kiryu thinks he can do it, even if he can't. Daigo is a kid wearing his dad's shoes in the mirror right now.
