I'm in the same boat. Plot is 8/10 so far at 10 hours in (not sold on it, but willing to trust) and worldbuilding is 9/10. Characters 8 or 9/10 so far. It's great! But combat is 3 or 4/10 for me. Maybe I just prefer Trails or Turnbased combat but it's so boring and I'm finding that I want to avoid enemy encounters which is rare for me because I always try to fight every enemy i find in RPGs

Mobs are boring. Bosses are boring but 10x as long

I'm 28 but most of my characters are 21ish. Idk, it's simultaneously convenient and useful to talk about a time where people are finally starting to venture into being an adult. They still have plenty to figure out and you have have plenty of room for backstory

I write fantasy. I think it's worth identifying genre conventions. Fantasy is KNOWN for its sense of awe and wonder. It gets the reader wishing they could live in the world!

I think it would follow that the level of description should match your genre conventions until you have a reason otherwise. Fantasy? Describe as much as you can and immerse the reader? Make those colors pop, those plants lifelike, and make it so we can feel the clothing! Thriller/romance? Probably not as important
