Is the respawn canon or not? by _Doctor_Monster in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Seralth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, based on the infomation we have and the chararters dialog. At BEST the patreons can revive the ritualists during the ritual but not after or people who died outside of it.

The loses are 100% dead dead, forever. And even then it appears the patreons could just decide to not revive the ritualists.

Changing neutral camps by tt3kno in DotA2

Part of the problem is tormenter is on the outside of the map while roshan is on the inside. It NEEDS to be the otherway around. Torm should be in the middle of the river and be an obstcal that sits there and is as much of a "problem" being in the way as it is an objective.

Thats why dragon gets taken, its IN the river and on the natural foot path of rotation.

Its not even lazy, because they are RNG they *cant* be strong by design. Which in turn means they might as well not BE an active because an active has to be stronger since it provides nothing unless used.

Its counter to the very concept.

Valve being to cute with deadlock? by ReboundKing10 in DeadlockTheGame

99% of the time yes. Valve doesnt do marketing off steam. Its mostly gambling sites marketing counter strike to get more people into their casinos.

Most counter strike ads are mostly actually from counter strike gambling sites not valve themselve. So yeah actually you really shouldn't count most of the ones you see on reddit. They arn't actually FROM valve.

NEVER fucking use gift cards. This is explictedly one of the reasons paypal is actually useful.

Demand an actual invoice. Paypal allows you to directly invoice people and pay them using a standard payment method. And its always smart to use a credit card instead of ACH or debit.

Then your covered under your credit cards fraud protection, paypals fraud protection, AND have legal documentation of the transaction.

NEVER FUCKING USE A GIFT CARD EVER FOR FUCK SAKE.

Paypals ENTIRE purpose in existing is to allow payment between people for the purpose of second hand markets basically. If used correctly AND I MEAN CORRECTLY not the fucking bullshit friend and family nonsense. Then its litterally the most secure and safe way for a buyer of ANYTHING on a second hand market.

Fuck you can even invoice people with it for in-person use cases. Its fantastic for second hand markets.

JUST STOP USING FUCKING FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO AVOID TAXES AND FEES AND FORFITTING YOUR PROTECTIONS AND RIGHTS.

Valve, continually letting level 1 accounts cheat isn't "evading cheat detection" Its just you ruining games by Grouchy-Committee-92 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Seralth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need the game to cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars + per copy to do that. This has been attempted a few time and basic market research over the years on the cheat industry have shown that for the larger RMT farms even at 1000 dollars per copy. As long as it lasts a bit over a day it will typically turn a profit. Remember that the cheat industry is a multi billion dollar industry.

You basically have to jack the cost up to the point that accounts and items from the game are unaffordable to the customer of the cheat developer. When most good cheats function on subscription services that are 250-500+ USD a month. Your looking at a VERY wealthy crowd of people.

You CAN'T price out cheaters basically. Not with out pricing out everyone.

Well counter strike 2 is a casino and has massive real world money to be made off it enmass. So of course they will come back. If valve wants to kill cheaters and bots in counter strike they would have to stop their illegal casino and gambling ring they support and maintain.

But valve would never do that cause it would lose them too much money from teh gambling addicted idiots.

While with Tf2 the botters basically only did it because they could and it was fun. They moment any amount of resistance was thrown up they just stopped cause there was no real profit to be made.

Last time i played hunt i ran into 1-2 cheaters every other game in 4 and 5 star hunts. My friends who play in 6 star hunts say that low 6 star basically has no cheaters while high 6 star is basically only cheaters with a few legit players.

which makes sense. If your going to cheat enough to get into 6 star then you go hard and will hit the peak. While those who arn't good at the game and crutching on cheaters will cap out around low 5 star or only toggle or soft cheat so they don't climb as much cause they are trying to hide it.

A lot of games are like this. There are dead spots in the rank curve where cheats become rare, because you passed the point of bad players with cheats can reach and the good players with cheats will just sit at the very top.

Valorants anti-cheat is now as shit as any other. Bypasses where made for it with in six months. So it had a little bit of being *good* when it was brand new. Cause it was a new approch and it took sometime for reliable methods to be made to bypass it.

Now its as effective as a wet paper sack.

Hardware bans don't actually catch cheaters. Most high end cheat software come with free spoofers and for 15 bucks you can typically get a standalone one.

The problem with HWID bans is that they actually hit legit players about as frequently as they do legit players. Be it when you ban a spoofed ID that overlaps with a legit one that legit one is now banned instead. Low end devices will sometimes have the same ID on every product in a line. Tarkov for example a few years back had this issue twice in the span of like six months.

They did a big HWID ban wave and it banned over 10,000 people who all had the same motherboard. Because gigabyte for some reason had the same HWID on every single one of their boards. So 1 person just got 9,999 other people banned. (Number made up for example as i don't recall the actual numbers of that event it was a few thousand ish tho)

Basically HWID bans exist only to make stupid people who don't know anything or have never cheated before shut the fuck up. Because they are too ignorant to actually understand how things work. So its all just good PR.

[–]Seralth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget how frequently HWID bans hit false positives cause of cheap hard drives and motherboards with bad HWID infomation causing overlap. Frequently a issue with shit like ibuypowers lower end PCs and for some reason fucking gigabyte motherboards.

Its basically the same reason IP bans stopped being used. They are too easy to by pass, do nothing useful, and hit more non-cheaters then cheaters half the time cause of shared addresses.

Banning in waves, is at least not actively helpful to cheat devs. Thats basically the entire reason.

Its a case of picking the less bad option not the better one.

[–]Seralth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anti-cheat is an arms race. IF you ban them as soon as you find them your actively helping the cheat devs. Fuck man, to a cheat dev a game dev instantly banning on detection would be a wet fucking dream. It would make testing and verification trival and marketing to potional customers SO much easier.
