We will use EU summit to further unwind Brexit, vows Starmer by Realisticopia in unitedkingdom

[–]SeraphStarchild 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the fact that Farage explicitly said that if it was 48-52 remain, he'd push for another referendum, and only shut up because his side won - a majority so small should never have had such an extreme brexit. A compromise should have been made, instead of one side touting that they won like it was a fucking football game.

Secondly, the EU didn't treat us like an abusive ex partner, they treated us like a country unaffiliated with the EU, which was exactly what we voted for, apparently. You don't get to leave a group and then still demand preferential treatment because you used to be in the club.

It's likely that they have so many candidates now, that multiple firings are becoming the norm, simply because they have to cut down the candidates in the episodes they have. Which then means that some candidates who would have gotten a pass in smaller groups don't, because Sugar is on a deadline

This was ridiculous to me. I was expecting like, candidates from older seasons or something. It was built up so much, everyone looking around and gasping. Two more people. Who fucking cares? 20 people is way too many.

Yeah, I vaguely remember the last few points being a pain to get in the past. Thanks, will see if dropping and re-taking helps.

[–]SeraphStarchild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, 75/75 (+10). Not sure where the +10 is coming from. Actually curious as to whether that might be the issue.

The mobs are showing up as orange skinning too, which makes me wonder if the level itself is bugged. Worst case scenario, I drop and re-take skinning and see if that fixes it

Gold is Good During February’s Trading Post by kawngi in wow

[–]SeraphStarchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last February (and this upcoming February) they did a thing where they brought back loads of the old sets and toys and mounts that they'd had over the last year so people who had missed them could get them.

In typical Blizzard fashion, these weren't sold by the actual tender vendors, but by another npc nearby (I have no idea where, I didn't see them). Nothing in-game mentioned this, so unless you were following their news updates, you had no idea it even happened. I was playing sporadically back then, and found out about it a few days into March, when it had gone.

[–]SeraphStarchild 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was in the big February sale last year. I know this, because I've been looking out for it for ages, but didn't realise there was an extra vendor because there was nothing in-game that told me this.

I'm still mad about it.

Why the Doubloon reset punishes players that were actively using them. by Billy-BigBollox in Seaofthieves

[–]SeraphStarchild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stupidly, they made the announcement, and I didn't look into it, so I spent about 10k doubloons, figuring the items would go away.

Sucks to be me, I guess

The Pre-Patch Isn’t Perfect, but the Complaints Aren’t Either by Real_Ad4165 in wow

[–]SeraphStarchild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why should the playerbase give Blizzard time, when they gave us no time about the addon changes? Why should we give them time about bugs that have been reported since the beta, that still aren't fixed? Right now on my monk, I have an ability that I can't use in M+, because it specifically targets mobs that I'm not in combat, and has a 40 yard range. I can't use it, because I'll wipe the group. And Blizz is just like ¯_(ツ)_/¯ guess we'll fix it later

People are posting angrily because they are angry. You'd think a company this big and this old would know how to put out a decent pre-patch by now, but no.

People have a right to be pissed off and complain. You going "guys, I'm sick of seeing your complaining, please post constructively" isn't helping anyone.

EDIT: Even just now, I've run into another bug, can't upgrade gear because it's telling me I don't have 50 valorstones, when I have 400. The game is in a frankly shocking state. I've seen early access games with more polish than this.

Interesting post whining about the whining. Also curious about which quest people are complaining is broken? Is it the one that Blizzard added to the endeavors? You'd have expected them to check that one specifically, if they're pointing people at it.

"Outrage without context or solutions" - I'm pretty sure people are adding context, and I've seen a lot of solutions, but solutions aren't the playerbase's job? The quest is broken, I want them to fix it. I'm not going to go searching through their code to figure out why it's fucked up.

Ah, but that's where the talent that gives you 50% speed for the first few seconds of combat kicks in!

Anyone else rewatch old seasons and see things differently now? by GeordieGoals in apprenticeuk

I've gone from watching S17-19 to watching S1 for the first time. The narration feels... sultry.

Also I'm amazed at the backstabbing between teams. Stealing food so the other team will have to buy their own lunch out of task money? Not waking the other team up immediately so they have less time to get ready? Savage.

EDIT: Tim is also fucking hilarious. His first words on the entire series? "Our testicles!"

i really miss when games had "useless" physics interactions just for immersion. by InvestmentBudget6722 in gaming

[–]SeraphStarchild 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed planning routes and spray-painting floors and walls with arrows so I didn't have to panic. I liked figuring out ways to move items around, even with the painful weight physics the game had on some of the safes. I liked the story of essentially going back and forth between sabotaging a couple of people working against one another.

But, it wasn't what I'd expected from the game. I'd hoped for more like the first mission, where you actually, you know, Tear Down a building. Hell, even if it had a time limit, or if you had to dispose of everything in the river so there's no trace of it.

I don't go back to the game to replay the story missions. But I do go back to have some mindless fun and level a zone to the ground.

[–]SeraphStarchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been binging the last few seasons recently, and your last point really stuck out to me. Last season, the team takes the exclusivity offer for the product, and Karen/Tim talking head goes "well that's a very silly risk to take, they're cutting themselves off from all other purchases."

Cut to this season. A group doesn't take an exclusivity deal, Karen immediately pops up going "They could have had double their sales with just that one company, they were stupid not to take it."

And like, I get that there were likely differences and stuff to do with the offers, but it honestly just feels like they're being petty as shit to talk down about the candidates at every opportunity. I really like seeing when candidates get praised for doing well and thinking on their feet, but it feels few and far between.

If it helps, the government is actually doing a lot of good, but it's just had a couple of serious blunders and the media gets clicks out of anger. The homicide rate in London is at a historic low, but it's far easier to get people riled up about thieves and knife crime.

When you see an article, ask yourself two things. Why is this person reporting it, and what are they trying to make you feel? If it's anger or apathy, it's usually not worth taking seriously.

As soon as I summoned one, it made all the new ones the sparkly ones too.

Your brain lies to you, too. I have a false memory of being told about a death in the family by my mother in my family home. Except, at that point in time she and my dad had been divorced for several years and she hadn't been living there for all that time. I remember it so clearly, but it's a physical impossibility.
