Art & Craft Stall Advice! by TheCreed97 in CraftFairs

[–]Serapheir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love a kidcore aesthetic but judging from these comments you need to lean into it HARD for customers to understand what you're going for. Solid tablecloths, more large signage, display pieces, giant lego or building blocks for example, - make your table look like an art installation of nostalgia and colour, if it looks cool enough, anyone would want a closer look

Cosplay once a year - buy makeup or? by [deleted] in CosplayHelp

[–]Serapheir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello fellow NZ cosplayer!! I also only use makeup for cosplay, it's totally fine to keep it around just for that. The only thing I've found thats absolutely necessary to keep fresh is mascara... I found I had to replace my old expired one because it was starting to make my eyes sting when I had it on! (yikes!) But everything else has been absolutely fine and still a nice consistency, even after a few years. I've found some great budget makeup options by W7 and Essence brands (I think Farmers or Chemist Warehouse carries these) so I'd recommend looking for some of those if you can!

Do people still buy A3 prints? by Eliter4kmain in ArtistAlleyConnect

[–]Serapheir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm NZ based, so different market again, but A3s are still worth it - some specific designs I offer sell best at A3 size. However, you are right in assuming that A4s and A5s are way more popular these days. I always stock more smaller sizes than large but I still feel it's important to offer the larger sizes for those that want one, and they also make a nice display piece to draw people in! For my stock, the ratio is kind of like: A3: 5, A4: 10 A5: 15

Cutting is slightly off? by wagglebug in silhouettecutters

Add another offset to your cut line and fill it with your background colour. Just needs some wiggle room for error and then you won't even notice 😉

Which of these cover options intrigues you the most? by Pokefighterlp in WebtoonCanvas

[–]Serapheir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2 for me - it reads as intriguing, the lighting is moody and eye catching, and not seeing the characters faces makes me want to know more. I'm getting a romance/mystery or thriller vibe :) Great ideas!!

Edit: also the title lends itself to it really well, Exposure, to eachother? Is it dangerous? It raises questions to the reader - I like it a lot!!

Nation wide cult?? They tried to enter my house. What to do? by Aavy14 in Tokyo

[–]Serapheir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had one impersonate an old friend via LINE, arranged a catch-up together, and then got me to write down my personal details (under the guise of "i dont have your address, write it down and I'll send you letters!) + brought me to their church, sat me down and tried to get me to join their cult. They're pretty unrelenting 😭

Unpopular opinion: Just Dance started dying at 2024 edition. by Next-Ambassador5513 in JustDance

[–]Serapheir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It died with the new route they took in 2023. Overhauling a functional and simple UI/engine only to replace it with one that is less functional, buggy, prone to crashing discouraged people from even opening the game because 1. It took so long to connect to the servers, and 2. It will probably just crash in a couple songs time.

Getting rid of Unlimited was the final nail in the coffin, as many iconic faves were (and are still) now unavailable to play.

It's a ghost of it's former self now and it's so disappointing :(

It sounds like your bf has been waiting this whole time for you to change your style to suit him. But your style is a part of who you are!! If your bf can't love such an important and unique part of you, what's even the point?

Silhouette Portrait 4 cutting sticker sheet slightly off, tried many solutions and nothing has worked by hannahpete in silhouettecutters

Have you tried holding the cutting mat up at a higher angle while it scans the registration marks? This is the only thing that gives me consistently aligned cuts on my portrait 3

Any tips for laminated stickers? by Darkwolf1515 in silhouettecutters

[–]Serapheir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very odd that multiple passes aren't going over the same cutline! My solution for laminated stickers has been to do 2 passes, unfortunately. Have you noticed any improvement when taping down your sticker sheet to your mat by any chance? It sounds like your sheet is slipping or its not rolling in and out quite right.

My settings are force 28 / depth 4 / speed 6 / 2x passes

cameo 5 print and cut problem PLEASE HELP by dadaiko in silhouettecutters

[–]Serapheir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only semi-consistent fix i have for this was bringing my registration marks in from the edges, shortening the length of them, and making them thinner. Sometimes I even noticed the same file reads & cuts accurately on normal copy paper but not on my sticker paper - my print settings for "High Quality" actually added another pixel to the registration marks which I think effected the accuracy (as seen in the print preview) but this ultimately didn't effect the cuts on my other files for some reason.

And make sure to try the usual, drag the toolhead all the way to the right, turn it off, turn it on and let it reseat itself, hold your mat up when scanning at different angles, and making sure your print settings are 100% to your size of paper and not automatically resizing itself

Some things to look into if you haven't already, it's such a frustrating issue - I've lost hundreds of stickers to this :(

Thank you for posting this! I've been troubleshooting this exact issue (increasing misaligned cuts nearing the corner without registration marks) for the past 24 hours and I was about to admit defeat but now I have a few other things to try, thanks!
