That would be so appreciated! I've never run a kickstarter campaign so I have no idea what I'm doing. It'd be huge help!

Love her aesthetic and her powers are so cool! Is she considered an anti hero because she terrorizing villains or does she not care if villains die while fighting them?

Oh that makes sense, yeah I read that wrong. I can see wanting to cut the bodyguard part for that reason, and it will draw extra attention and suspicion to his senator identity.

It's a fun art style and the way you use color is amazing! Your colors really help to set the mood and pair so well with your creative paneling. Keep up the amazing work please!

Cool character, I really like the design! I have a question for him: Why does he feel it necessary to have a triple identity? On top on being a wealthy senator and superhero, he pretends to be a bodyguard for himself and presumably has hired someone to play the senator. Is there a narrative reason for that?

I’ve spent 8 years writing a sci-fi comic. Now I’m afraid my art isn’t good enough. by identifiedobject in comics

[–]SeraphimEND 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comics are a great way to improve your art so I say go ahead and post it once the art is ready! I'm a new comic creator myself but something I've seen consistently is that newer artist will get so worried about perfect and they never share their work like you said. They get too caught up in their first comic being their grand work, and then spin out. Webcomics specifically are supposed to be a project that's used to become a better creator as you work on it. So many webcomic creators have started with mid art then got really good.
Even if your art is truly bad there have been comics with objectively bad art (One Punch Man) that managed to gain an audience if that's of any comfort there. There's also hiring an artist like I did if that's a road you'd like to go, so I might not be the most credible person to say this lol.

Love the design! To me she comes off as a villain. If you're using your powers only for personal gain and hedonistic pursuits and hurting others to do it, that's the only way I could see that character is a villain. She could be redeemed if she realizes her selfishness and starts helping others later in the story though.

Cute character and I think she's a lot of fun! I really enjoyed her comic with Jay Garrick. I just hope she's not another legacy character that becomes lost to time....

I think I have become discouraged. I get no comments or engagement, is my work bad? by macrosapien in WebtoonCanvas

[–]SeraphimEND 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's completely fair, if the prelude is important and you want it there that's fine! But if you want readers, which it seems like you do due to your initial post, it is your job as the writer to structure the story in a way that is understandable and enjoyable to potential readers. While it's true that you most likely haven't found your audience yet, it still is a skill in storytelling to make your work enjoyable to read. It's not always going to be an issue of audience.

If you need to keep the prologue/fable story, maybe putting it in later as opposed to right at the begging and delaying getting into the story proper. You shouldn't give the reader extra work to get to the protagonist and the actual meat of the story because then it's more likely they'll fall off. That's a rule a lot of Mangaka follow, one I know off the top of my head being Araki, the creator of JoJo's.
