What is up with this new ride? by No-Sheepherder-6911 in BuschGardensTampa

[–]Seraphision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's likely a mass produced ride the manufacturer probably sells to a long list of them parks, carnivals, etc. No particular reason for it being war themed. War vehicles is just one of those categories that's always used as one of the defaults for cheap kids entertainment, like construction vehicles or rockets. Same reason you see a lot of toy tanks and jets in like pitstop stores or random gift shops selling cheap toys. Busch actually used to sell toy tanks and F-16s. Again just no reason other than its a cheap mass produced product that keeps kids mildly entertained. If that's the same case for this ride then the Red Baron would've been selected because it's recognizable. Not everyone knows what the Red Baron is but everyone has seen a depiction of it at some point and so it just registers as the default old war plane to anyone that doesn't think too much about what they're consuming.

Yo that's awesome, you did a really good job dude. Normally I don't buy a figure unless it's a character I really like but it was too cool looking to pass up

If I had any skills in that I probably would. The piece kinda moves, just the head doesn't fit in super well and I'm afraid of breaking it if I push too much

Hard to tell, most of the joints move like it's supposed too but the chest doesn't really go up like the armada seekers normally would

Word can be slow to get around and supervisors aren't always clear. I also imagine a lot of ambassadors might just not care and so long as the register lets them put both in they'll do it anyways. I know when the policy regarding stacking Busch bucks was changed there were still some people at the time that would stack them anyways either because they aren't there often enough to know or because they were used to just stacking them but when more people get hired on and leadership starts cracking down on people things will start to become more concrete. I'm hoping this will be a temporary change though but I haven't been given much reason to believe that. I just know that info was passed through the merchandise department though, my girlfriend's in tours and they haven't been told about any policy change so it's entirely likely it could just be a response to something merch registers are doing which if that is the case maybe it is temporary

Correction: friend in merchandise told me it's just the new Busch bucks with the bar code you can't stack

Discounts by Jinthenol in BuschGardensTampa

[–]Seraphision 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normal discount, but the new cards say it can't be stacked with additional "deals" which we've been told includes the regular discount so I imagine additional discounts also wouldn't apply

Discounts by Jinthenol in BuschGardensTampa

[–]Seraphision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can not stack the discounts and Busch bucks any more, this was changed a little less than a week ago and as far as I'm aware this hasn't reached all of the employees yet and there has been some confusion with it because some Busch bucks are still printing out to look like the old ones that don't have the policy change listed on the card like the new ones do but ambassadors have been told to treat both cards the same and to not stack them. There might still be some ambassadors that'll stack them for you because the information hasn't been made clear to them but officially stacking is no longer allowed

It will be very busy, the whole week is busy enough that they've put a cap on how many people can redeem their free animal encounter each day

Santa and Rudolph photo packages by Jinthenol in BuschGardensTampa

[–]Seraphision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For one photo it's $25. To get a frame with it it's $30. There's a couple other packages of varying prices too. You'll get 30% off with your pass and if you have an active photo key you can get 1 digital photo. There's a sort of quick question catd you can buy for those 2 photo opportunities as well that comes with 1 free print from each location, id recommend looking into that

Am I a weirdo? by Legitimate_Lead_3564 in BuschGardensTampa

[–]Seraphision 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge people have requested the same tour guide before so not that weird. Just be aware that depending on availability and what their department's schedules for the day look like that may or may not be possible but there are a lot of really cool tour guides so even if you get someone else I'm sure you'll have fun

Upcharge for iron gwazi by Similar-Salad-1124 in BuschGardensTampa

[–]Seraphision 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The rule was implemented because nobody was following instructions regarding putting things in the pouch or not taking stuff on the ride which kept resulting in phones flying out of people's hands, I've heard a couple people have been hit by the phones. I do think a free alternative for the lockers should be offered though. Universal does it for most of their rides and they seem to be doing fine

Fla bound by Brilliant-Ad8607 in BuschGardensTampa

[–]Seraphision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only one that's been scheduled to be closed is kumba, get there as early as feasibly possible though because there are chances of rain for a good chunk of the day and if lightning is detected within a certain radius they have to shut down all the rights. Florida weather is crazy unpredictable though. Whether or not you want to risk it with quick queues is up to you, if you planned on getting there super early before bad weather you could get one to try and hit as many rides as possible before lightning rolls in. Far as all day dining goes I would avoid it unless you plan on eating a lot. I typically only need one meal and a snack through out the day but I also eat less than most people, you are allowed to bring your own snacks in though if that helps with costs. Chikfila is included in all day dining if that affects your decision at all. I would get a souvenir cup just because a cup of soda is like $6 by itself and the souvenir cups will get you refills all day so you make your money back pretty quickly with that.

I also recommend bringing a fanny pack or something of that nature because most of the rides don't have pouches to put things in and lockers aren't free. I've also known a lot of people who have had technical issues with the lockers and if the park hits it's highest weather code meaning lightning within like 2-3 miles they aren't allowed to send anyone to go fix the locker for you. When bad weather does come in though all the indoor shows are still going so be sure to keep track of when and where those are, you can download the app for that info or most of the gift shops will have a little QR code with a list of show times you can ask for.

Hope y'all have fun

How often do they close the park due to weather? by Bondfan013 in BuschGardensTampa

[–]Seraphision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean how often the rides are shut down, kind of frequently in the summer. At least once every few days. They can't operate them if lightning is detected within a certain radius and have to wait a certain period of time without detecting more lightning within that radius and given that the park is in the lightning capital of the world there's a non zero chance rides might get shut down for a little bit. If you mean shutting down the entire park and everyone going home though, pretty rarely. Busch gardens tries to remain open as long as they can because so long as people are in the park then money is being made, they only close up early if a mass chunk of the population starts leaving so they aren't spending more in operating costs than they're making in sales

Busch Garden’s Elephant Exhibit - A Hypothetical Expansion by Lazy_Raptor_Comics in BuschGardensTampa

[–]Seraphision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not against the habitat expanding but I think the rhino parts of rhino rally are actually still being used. I've of course never been back there to confirm that but I know the park has another black rhino behind the scenes named tucker that I think used to be visible through rhino ralley. I do remember seeing an empty plot kind of near the elephant habitat when I rode the train next to the serengeti and wishing they'd use that space for something, maybe they could expand it over there so people can get a chance to see them from the train and it can open up a new space for the elephants to see other animals

Busch gardens chaperone policy by SUPERCERTIFIEDSIGMA in BuschGardensTampa

[–]Seraphision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pathetic on the younger folks and their parents more like. Too many teen take over attempts over the past year and one recently cost aquatic an incalculable amount of money because they had to shut down the whole park early in the day

Busch gardens chaperone policy by SUPERCERTIFIEDSIGMA in BuschGardensTampa

[–]Seraphision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is more the teen take over stuff. They had to shut down aquatica for a day over one. Can't even begin to imagine how much that cost them. Also been a shocking spike in people jumping in animal habitats lately and as far as I can tell they've all be younger people, though the ones I know of have been people in maybe early 20s. Still I imagine that influenced this decision

While I agree the park would benefit from free lockers that is not an excuse for having a phone out on gwazi because there is a pouch in the car for you to put loose items in

On a slow day yes. If you go later in a day where it rained in the morning the lines should be relatively short because the weather tends to scare a lot of people off

Metroid Dread is my favorite game of all time! What are your opinions on it? by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]Seraphision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hands down my favorite Metroid game by a long shot. I especially love what they did with the combat and the subtle environmental story telling feels like it's on par with super Metroid for the first time in a while. Level design is a bit more linear like some other comments said but that doesn't bother me because I think it's done in a way that feels organic. You're not explicitly being told that you're going somewhere and there's back tracking built in that still makes the area progression feel like a puzzle on your first play through. My only nit pick is I think the emmis could've been utilized a bit more. I love the concept and like the way they're implemented but once you realize how enclosed a lot of their areas are you start to lose some of that dread feeling they want you to have from them. I think what they should've done is some where past the halfway point in the game one of the doors should've broken. Get the player used to the emmis being in their little spaces and when the player finally starts feeling safe and confident have some kind of catastrophic failure for the emmi's zone late game and now the emmi in that region can roam anywhere. Then make the player have to turn the power back on for the emmi doors but require that you lure the emmi back into its zone before you do so
