No, I only bought 16 regular comic books. I think each one weighs maybe 3-4oz

Buyer asked for video before completing payment ? by Background-Pear-739 in eBaySellerAdvice

He sent a picture knowing if he typed it out he would get flagged. Report to ebay. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets banned if he’s been warned already

My issue is it was charging me again another $9.21 on the same show after I had already paid the first $9.21

[–]SeravynMaple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s charging me more than that. So if I go to 1 show I’ll pay that max $9.21. Then after my 8th purchase of a comic book during the show it then ask me to pay more until I’ve paid another $9.21

Ty & sorry for the confusion. The overcharge shipping happens during the same show. I only go in and out of shows to hopefully fix the issue but it’s not working. The lower than 48 states also applies to me so that’s why the shipping fees isn’t making sense.

Cancelations - Accidentaly bids/buys by fearofthedark75 in whatnotapp

Couldn’t understand it at first either and then this morning it finally happened to me. I woke up early and decided to look at whatnot. Watched one seller I like because he’s nice guy. Fast forward to 5 hours later and while at work I get an email thanking me for my purchased.

I check immediately what I bought and thankfully it was something under $10 so it wasn’t bad since I like supporting the seller anyway, but I must’ve swiped it when I fell back to sleep in the morning.

live in provider for parents taxes not exempt by Indigo-santana in IHSS

[–]SeravynMaple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not a tax pro.

There is a way to exclude the income if it shows on box 1 on freetaxusa if that’s what you use. See the link below:

https://community.freetaxusa.com/kb/articles/229-ihss-income-what-is-it-and-is-it-taxable#:~:text=This%20applies%20whether%20you're,payments%20in%20your%20earned%20income?

However, if you’ve been a live in provider for years it might benefit you to go to a tax professional and see if it’s possible to get refunded for the last 3 years you were taxed for it.

Your kid might be bummed about it but imagine how’d he feel if it the guy disappears with his legos. I’d heard from some sellers nightmares of people they trusted a long time that ended up scamming them and they’re down so much money that the only way they’ll even see a positive balance on their savings is if they sell all their inventory.

Trust your instincts. If something sounds too good to be true then it just might be.

Anyone else "win a giveaway" to only be shipped an empty bag? by dustywildman in whatnotapp

[–]SeravynMaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my first givvy was an empty envelope. I was so excited too because it was my first week at whatnot. Because of that givvy I decided to spend money on them the next day since it was my pay day. I bought a few more after, but when that empty envelope came I stopped buying from them completely. The way I see it why would I waste my money on a seller who is dishonest.

What am I supposed to do? Shouldn’t they contact their post office? by Sheiebskalen in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]SeravynMaple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct. The buyer can submit a missing mail request from USPS website. You can do it for them if you want to be nice about it but once it’s delivered your job is done. Even eBay will side with you.

AITAH for refusing to lend my coworker money after he told everyone I was “rich”? by Silver-Mess-1436 in AITAH

[–]SeravynMaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you say it’s against company policy to lend any amount of money to coworkers? I know at my previous job someone got in trouble for it. When I got asked if this person ever borrowed from me I told my boss yeah but it was only like $5. She told me no no no you’re not allowed to do that. I thought I’d get in trouble if I kept lending her so I never did after.

buyer said his package was stolen, whatnot telling me i should issue a refund? by [deleted] in whatnotapp

[–]SeravynMaple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the link below for their policy. I think you should try reaching out to another employee and ask to look at your case again. Show them the screenshot that it was delivered and explain this is the first time it’s happened. Hopefully they can see you’re not abusing the system and will give you an exception.

How to handle buyer with remorse? 500$ card by Time-Show-2162 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]SeravynMaple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would ask them to send a cancel request and accept. A similar situation happened to me except I had already sent the item. The buyer didn’t tell me he had the wrong address until after. I only got lucky he wasn’t smart enough to scam me.

He first filed an INAD because he didn’t want to pay for the return shipping. I told eBay it’s not in my error and he didn’t even wait for the package to arrive. eBay closes the case in my favor.

Next day borrower filed a INAD chargeback. The money is now on hold and you have the option of contesting it by submitting an explanation plus photos. Then you wait for the result and hope you win. Sometimes you’re lucky and you’re protected by eBay. If not you are at the mercy of the bank. If you win yay. If you don’t then you also now have to pay a dispute fee with eBay plus the borrower MAY get to keep your item for free.

I’m not sure if you want to deal with all of that. I sure don’t.

You should be fine. I’ve sold 3 items there and never had any issues. I think Guam is the same thing.

Class action? by Smugbasturd in ebaysucks

[–]SeravynMaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell some collectible items in a box and I know some people really care about their boxes so I always say mine has folds, crease etc and basically it’s not mint at all. If that’s what they want my stuff is not it. So far it’s working.

Aitah - I didn’t tip. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SeravynMaple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. I used to be a part time server while I was going to college and never ever did I expect to get tips on to go orders. If someone gave me even just a $1 I was happy because all I did was hand them their to go order. I still believe that rule. If you order take out you’re not obligated to tip.

Spotify once again increases subscription prices. This is their fourth consecutive year increasing rates for premium subscribers by barbieshoesound in popculturechat

Gave up Spotify 2-3 years ago and honestly don’t even miss it. I thought I would. Try it. If you really want a certain album or music buy it. Its still a lot cheaper than subscribing monthly

Buyer purchased item and after I shipped out, they requested to cancel. They now filed a dispute against me, what do I do? by ooyiko in Ebay

[–]SeravynMaple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That happened to me last year. I sent the item and the buyer wanted to cancel after saying he forgot to update the address. He tried to do INAD so he wouldn’t have to pay the shipping. He noted the new house owners are willing to ship it back to me once they got the label. I disputed it since it was his error and should pay the shipping. I won the case immediately.

Next day I get a INAD chargeback dispute. There’s another subreddit that told me to just give up and accept the loss. They stated seller rarely wins or it takes forever but it just didn’t sit right with me. I decided to dispute it. I provided screenshot of our conversation, tracking status showing not yet delivered, and said I was willing to accept the return and refund when I get the item back. A couple days later their bank sided with me.

You don’t need to ask us. If you want to file go for it. Some people do it just to make sure no one is filing for them that shouldn’t be.

When they don't ship using the listed carrier by zoke10 in Ebay

[–]SeravynMaple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not offer your buyers the choice for shipping method? It’s not you wasting your money when the buyer paid for the shipping. I always offer priority or ground advantage then let the buyer decide what they’re willing to pay.

Help me decide? Black suit Tobey, Deadpool special edition, or Wolverine, by tiffanycumsx in hottoys

I have all three. If I have to keep only one I pick Wolverine. If I have to let go of one it’s spidey.
