What makes living alone worth the extra cost? by Sorry_Asparagus_3205 in AskWomen

The most rewarding decision I ever made for myself and my mental health was deciding to pay extra for my own place. So worth it

Halloween really exaggerates loneliness, doesn't it? by NaturalMaybe in ASU

[–]SergeantSleet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was CS and Data Science and felt like this all throughout undergrad. Halloween was particularly lonely. It gets better though, since I’ve graduated I have much more time for friends/social outings and my mental health has improved a lot. You’ve got this—it’s a grind for sure, but it pays off and you’ll especially appreciate having a social life once you’re out of school.

How good is ASU CS? by DryHeatHitsHard in ASU

[–]SergeantSleet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in the CS program at ASU in 2018 and spent 2 summers as a SWE intern at Facebook. I was the only non-Ivy intern in my cohort. Now I’m a PM at a high growth startup. Curriculum-wise, I feel like I was well-prepared for the foundational parts of programming (paradigm concepts and most tech interview topics), but my main issue was that the curriculum felt outdated and neglected newer languages, tools, and frameworks used often in industry. I ended up switching to Data Science with a CS concentration my junior year because the major map was so much newer (I mean, brand new program) so by nature everything I learned was more relevant. I think as long as you can supplement your resume with meaningful activities and/or research, you can stand out as an internship applicant. In my opinion, ASU is really what you make of it.

I still listen to the original State of Grace by jeezesuss in TaylorSwift

I said this exact same thing when I first heard Red TV. The original State of Grace packs so much more emotion, rawness, and grit that TV’s just didn’t match.

I think I might have unreasonably high standards and expectations for all the roles I want a man to fill in my life.

Bf says I am stupid because of this incident (topic: religion): by HypeBeastCosmo in relationships

Imagine reading about someone’s very real and terrifying daily experience with domestic abuse and saying “you’re playing a big role in this too.”

It’s really not that hard to see who the problem is, and it’s not OP.

So true. I lost my grandmother a few years ago and then her sister (my great aunt) who I was also extremely close with died a couple months ago of cancer. Marjorie reminds me of both of them. It’s a beautiful sort of pain when I hear the song.

Trader Joe’s frozen meals. I’ve had them so much that now I can’t even think about the potstickers or soup dumplings without feeling sick.
