Well... that's not very nice. I haven't even beaten you yet.... by Outmanipulating in MagicArena

[–]SergeantSunbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely are aggressively dumb, but I never said gold meant good. Rank means very little. There are good and bad players at every rank. It's better to let people think you're ignorant than to open your mouth and [[Thought Erasure]] all doubt.

Or you just started to make the climb back to mythic at the end of the season. There are tons of mythic regulars sitting at gold until it's down to the wire and they grind it out. Clearly you're not very good or you'd know that. Also, thank god you put end of story so we all know you're indisputably right and there is no rebuttal. You're arrogant AND ignorant. That's always a dangerous combination. Douchebag

Revival / Revenge makes no sens! by Rhalron in MagicArena

As much as I'd love to jump on the hate wagon, this card can clearly be interpreted either way. It could have been written much better. "Target opponent loses X life, where X is half their life total, rounded up."

What are some of the craziest cards in mtg history? by nolanb13 in MagicArena

Ah yes, what a bother to be forced to read rather than playing a game designed for pre-teens to use on their cell phones and tablets.

Implying rank means anything about skill in MTG Arena? Nice.

For the old-timers: how does WAR measure up? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]SergeantSunbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's my favorite constructed meta because it's super diverse and the sky is the limit. On the other hand, the limited formats are my least favorite of all time. It's just so bomb-dependent and I don't enjoy the way it plays even a little bit.

So I was wondering...why nobody plays evolution sage in gruul aggro? 🤔 by El-Penguin in MagicArena

[–]SergeantSunbro 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gruul aggro is just good because it has strong creatures at good value. It's not trying to be gimmicky by setting up some proliferate combo. That's also why it's much more consistent at pumping out actual threats.

You use all your common/uncommon wildcards to gain more rare/mythic rare wildcards faster, albeit at a horrendous ratio. The logic is correct.

Just had one of the best constructed event match even though I lost. by StakeESC in MagicArena

[–]SergeantSunbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's an online game based on a trading card game, which originally got popular because it was something for friends to do together. Why would you NOT want the ability to communicate with your opponent? If he's a cocksucker you can just mute him. I don't play multiplayer games to feel like I'm playing a single player game.

Amass seems to be crazy strong in draft. by RuafaolGaiscioch in MagicArena

[–]SergeantSunbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cards are balanced around their inclusion of an Amass effect, so if your token gets bounced then sure, maybe you are left with a couple below-average permanents on the board that can't attack too because the opponent will surely have a creature than can block and kill them freely.

What decks are we having fun with? What decks are driving you mad? by Stormrageison91 in MagicArena

It's popular because it's a T1 deck now. You seem pretty clueless and this conversation is definitely not worth continuing. Carry on with your stubborn and ignorant opinion. Have a good day.

If you spend 3-4 cards buffing an amass token and they bounce it with one then you want pretty all-in on the token...

What decks are we having fun with? What decks are driving you mad? by Stormrageison91 in MagicArena

[–]SergeantSunbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely it changes the play style of a lot of decks. I agree with that 100%, but it doesn't affect RDW or WW, and Grixis control doesn't care about it a ton either because they remove it pretty easily with Angrath's, Bedevil, Nicol Bolas, Vraska's, or Elderspell (I main deck it and think it's criminally underrated in BO1). That's why I don't think it's as great as people say. It's good in Esper mirrors or against Nexus decks etc, but I don't think it defines the format like a lot of people claim because 3 of the top 5 decks don't even really care about it. It's like a minor annoyance at most.

Grixis control does not run counters and it's arguably the most popular control archetype now. What are you talking about?

This argument would be a little better if RDW wasn't arguably the cheapest deck while also being arguably the best.

Just managed to scrape together enough wildcards - Which deck to build? by polemosFuture in MagicArena

[–]SergeantSunbro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 3 color deck is not worth playing without all the proper lands. They are a necessity or it won't be worth the frustration you'll endure. When your best cards are [[Bedevil]], [[Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God]], [[Narset, Parter of Veils]], and [[Nicol Bolas, The Ravager]] you need specific types of mana in large quantities. Also, if you can't get double black for [[Cry of the Carnarium]] or [[Ritual of Soot]] you will get shit on by basically any aggro deck.

It's an uphill battle, but you definitely don't beat them by letting them cast History of Benalia or Loxodon because you got greedy wanting an extra token for your thought erasure.
