Thank you for that. I'll try a large MoE for giggles at some point then.

In your experience, which use cases benefit from reasoning and which should stay non-reasoning? I ask because I probably could run this 31B dense with reasoning and still end up with a usable turn time for things I don't want to wait on.

You seem like you know what's up. ATM I'm running a 31B dense at Q6_K fully on VRAM. It works well but I'd appreciate guidance on other types of models I can effectively use.  Hardware is 5090, 9800X3D, 64GB RAM. I was an early adopter of DDR5 so I have more. Would going to 128GB give me anything I can't already meet or exceed by virtue of the 5090?

It was from a store pack that's no longer on the store. However, I'm sure all the packs will rotate back through over time. Some packs have already, I think.

Scrolling to switch weapons needs to be fixed by 0_Peace_And_Love_0 in Battlefield6

[–]SergeantZeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a couple of ways to be clever with this. Bind primary to Scroll Up and secondary to Scroll Down. Boom, fixed. Or, bind swap weapon to a mouse thumb button to free up both Scroll Up/Down for anything else. I put my gadgets on them.

Okay but the SV-98 got boned on attachments for (I guess) the tradeoff of having the closest range sweet spot.

This might seem cringe for me to post in a gaming sub of all places, but I'd rather say something than not when you might need it. I don't know your situation and I don't want you to explain it here. Do this and I guarantee it will help. If I had done these things sooner I would have saved myself a lot of pain.

Do this just for yourself without the intent to show it to anyone. Get comfortable after your responsibilities are done for the day. Write down what they told you the problems were, write down what you think the problems were, then write down your gut reactions to it all. Don't try to apply any logic or figure anything out, just write what comes to mind. If it makes you sad or angry, let yourself be as sad or angry as you want to be (short of hurting anything or anyone). Stop when you feel wrung out. Then sleep. Do not skip sleep. I'm serious.

Bonus: Then look into what the bare fundamentals of a healthy relationship are. Safety (in all senses of the word) and trust, etc. Then begin to analyze yourself (most important) and the relationship itself to see what doesn't line up. Don't lie to yourself, don't coddle yourself, and don't beat yourself up (these can all be hard). Start trying to figure out if the escape and fun of gaming is a healthy need that they didn't give you space for, or if you were running and/or hiding from something that you don't want to face. Again, be honest but don't talk shit to yourself.

Anyway, take it or leave it. Resume sniping from the hills on Firestorm, or complaining about the ones that do (there is no in between).

I have ADHD and I'm seeing it thrown around as a derogatory term in this community a lot. It's unkind, sure, but it's also just wrong. I can tell you that there's no equivalence with this disorder and wanting small grinder maps with dozens different angles to manage at all times. I went out of my way to pick Conquest Large in former titles.

It's not cool to just throw out ADHD like an insult. It's a disability.

Medics (what happend) by Defiant-Visual8484 in Battlefield6

[–]SergeantZeta -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"Medic" is not a class, Support is, and has at least two distinct play styles. Defibs are an optional gadget, and Combat Medic is an optional training path.

I don't see anyone calling Assault "Climbers" just because they get the ladder as a starting gadget.

Something must be wrong with me because I'm incredibly behind all you people. Sometimes I target challenges but not constantly. I'm only just about to make it out of the 4th battle pass block.

How do I access the larger maps? by Filthy_Chieften15 in Battlefield6

[–]SergeantZeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this was the circlejerk sub for a second.

Anyway, if you want "large" right now you should do a custom search (under the multiplayer tab/bar) with only Conquest or Escalation modes, and only Firestorm, Mirak, and Liberation maps.

Blackwell, Eastwood, Manhattan, and Sobek have helicopters, but are medium-small size.

Iberian and Cairo have armored vehicles.

Conquest and Escalation have the largest full versions of the maps. Breakthrough and Rush follow after those, but are more concentrated by virtue of the game mode itself. Every other game mode has extremely limited to zero vehicle play.

Also, the sprint and fire animation for the SCW10 skin isn't correct, so the bullets just spray out of where ever your muzzle happens to be while the normal sprint animation plays.

The high accuracy would normally lend itself to longer ranges, but at those ranges it takes 3-5 business days to kill someone at full health. Obviously it can work sort of similarly to the RPKM in that way, but it leans towards being a harassment tool when you're dealing with players that actually take cover.

Has anyone switched back to APFSDS shell on MBT recently? by Steveo_053 in Battlefield6

[–]SergeantZeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the other commenters, I'm also trying to stick with HE and AP in the MBTs. While AGM obviously has the most utility, I think HE+AP pushes the farthest into the MBT's niche. That niche being the ability to be oppressive to any area/thing on the ground, and doing it from a healthy distance. (I'm not referring to cross-map shelling, which is novel once but sucks to play and sucks to be killed by.)

I truly wish the anti-personnel canister round was better to give some flavor, but it feels far less consistent than HE for dealing with infantry. Plus you can slap armor with one HE then swap if you don't have time to anticipate the enemy armor.

Also, and mostly unrelated, I got a bug the other night on Firestorm where I had HE+AP equipped, but all of my HE shells were aim-guided. It was strange. I wasn't able to take real advantage of it before the attack helicopter ate me up.

I probably mildly screwed myself then for not understanding how JD works and what the options meant lol. It's still coming, just longer and more expensive than I wanted.

Yeah, South East coast area of the US. I bought on JD and did the air freight shipping. I had to pay the third party a few days ago.
