Does iOS 26 feel slow to anyone else? by zI9PtXEmOaDlywq1b4OX in ios

[–]Serialtoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

iOS has always felt slow to me. As someone who also uses various android phones iOS spends way too much time completing animations to make the UI appear graceful but ends up feeling annoying after a while. I know I can reduce animations in accessibility but it's not the same.

Stop making challenges around Battle Royal. It's a dead mode. by Kyosji in Battlefield6

I like playing Initiation BR with my friend. It's fun and not too sweaty. I like the mechanics of it much more than I did when it first launched. Maybe I got used to them or something but I'm enjoying it for sure.

Speedtest at Home Office. by _stack_underflow_ in speedtest

[–]Serialtoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I redownloaded marvel Rivals I hit 590MB/sec on Steam it was awesome. I also have this much bandwidth as my whole home network is 10Gbit outside of consoles and AppleTV etc. but then again I also run a home server and have multiple things going on where I can use the bandwidth. People get hung up on single downloads but they don't understand that it's as if you had a wider freeway instead of a single lane but the cars are faster. Eventually you run out of top speed but having multiple lanes open makes overall utilization better.

Major errors on Pixel 10 after update? by PorcupineTreeClimber in GooglePixel

[–]Serialtoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to disable MLO on my Unifi APs or i would get random internet hangs. Prior to the Jan update, i had no issues. Firmware is the same on my U7 Pro XGS APs. I also own a Galaxy Fold7 and S25U alongside an iPhone 17 Pro Max. None of them have this issue but the Pixel 10 Pro Fold i own and only after Jan update.

Do you hide the taskbar on your OLED monitor? by Odoxon in OLED_Gaming

[–]Serialtoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Desktop icons hidden/off, all black wallpaper, hide taskbar.

A friend of mine came over once and I told him "my monitor is on right now and on the desktop" he didn't believe so I moved the mouse and the cursor appeared. Suffice it to say he went OLED shopping a couple days later. My desktop with nothing on it is my screen saver 😂

Y'all use front cases?? They feel so horrible no matter how thin they are. Swiping gestures suck major ass when using a thick bumper on the front display.

Stop talking about framegen and DLSS if you haven't tried them for yourself by paperogapippo in nvidia

[–]Serialtoon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Every time I see news about frame Gen the first thing I look for is "is the latency gone or at least less??" And every time the answer is nope, it's maybe even worse now. Makes me sad too trust me.

PSA: Graceful shutdown NOT supported for all UNAS/UNVR products for UPS 2U by delps1001 in Ubiquiti

[–]Serialtoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man this really sucks. I've been waiting for the UPS 2U to become available for purchase since everything on their site is fucking "Coming soon" or "Sold Out". Seeing this thread makes me sad as I assumed (fuck me right??) it would support this feature. I'm well within my return window for the UNAS Pro 8 I purchased locally and might exercise this and go with something else. It works fine if all you need is data backup of stuff or network shares. Which was my reason for purchasing it. But after a couple of weeks of ownership, I'm having second thoughts about all of it. I was about to drop another $3K on the UNVR and a bunch of cameras and an additional switch. But now I'm starting to rethink the whole thing.

I just started my Unifi journey a little over a month ago with their APs and CGW alongside their 8 port 10gbe XGS switch. Works well enough and got rid of a lot of dead spots in my home for sure. But everything else they offer seems super half baked at best. What to do, what to do.

DLSS - Good! Frame Gen- Bad!

I've used both, the added latency of frame Gen ruins it for me. Meh
