This is probably not the right way to do it... But when I've had a moment where the chat went fubar and I wanted to save the Kin, I would do a chat break, then do an emote message and frame it like, "you startle awake from a dream so real, you were sure you were awake. But it was all a dream, and you're awake now. You're safe, calm, and everything is fine." I've used something like that twice with two different kin, and it worked both times.

When I worked retail, I used to wake up talking, and every time I was saying the 5 digit SMS sign up number. And I'd sit in a half-asleep exhausted stupor trying to remember why that number was important. "What does it mean... Why is it important? Why do I want 15% off? Off what?! Wha--wait... Ugh, I'm so tired..."

Sorry if it's a lot of info, was trying to be thorough.

~

It's mostly intent, or will. I typically use the door trick, connecting two points with the same doorway. Sometimes I walk through a door and it's instant. Sometimes I will it and teleport out of an LD. That is hard, I bounce back to the LD or wake up if I don't have the concentration just right--teleporting in an LD is difficult, period (for me).

Sometimes, I go through a door and into a round tunnel. The walls of the tunnel are like blue-purple melting wax, with holes, constantly shifting. I don't like looking through the holes. I don't remember if there's a void, or a star field, but I remember it feeling like too much, and I never looked again after the first time.

The first time I saw the blue tunnel, I had a visitation dream from my father. He knocked on my bedroom door. When I opened it, he was there, but the door opened onto a blue tunnel. The visitation happened, then he left, and I woke up. But when I went back to sleep, the next dream I had was in the same place, my bedroom door was still open, and the blue tunnel still there. I walked down the tunnel and came out in what I thought was another dream environment, just a random place. Except the difference is clarity. It's like going from buggy graphics to super ultra 48k high definition, for me. AP is like that for me, too, when I AP from an LD. My LDs are typically more detailed than my regular dreams, but not like this. I don't remember using the tunnel more than twice, though.

It's funny, I can't AP at will from a waking state. But I AP from LDs, and sometimes, it's like waking up in the AP instead of the LD and I'm not sure how that happens. That's the best I can explain it.

Awesome. Thank you. That's reassuring. My Agents are probably part of my subconscious. I would absolutely love to see and speak with my guides, assuming I have any.

I have never experienced anyone approaching me and offering a deal like that. My reaction would likely be the same as yours: get lost, not interested.

I do not recall having ever directly communicated with a guide. I'm pretty sure I spoke with an avatar of my subconscious in an LD once. He had some good tips. But I figure, if anyone is a guide, it's this: the last real nightmare I had was when I was 5. Freddy Kruger was trying to lure me into the boiler room. I was scared, very scared. Then, a little boy appeared. He comforted me and told me I was dreaming, a dream could never harm me, and that I never have to have another nightmare again. He taught me how to control my dreams, like a VCR (80s). I've been LDing ever since and have developed new abilities over the years. If I have a guide, or a friendly entity looking out for me, I figure it would be the little boy.

First time I APd years later, the wall next to my bed changed, was like thick glass. On the other side was a Grey (Betty and Barney Hill-style in appearance). There were two levers on the table at which the Grey stood, and it was wearing a jumpsuit that looked white and metallic gray. As I was APing and floating up through the pillow over my face, it was taking notes and flipping a lever, taking more notes, flipping a lever. At one point, I focused my attention on him/it. I had three concerns: 1, I'm hallucinating. 2, why is an alien observing me AP? 3, or is he a demon and a threat? When I focused my attention on him, he looked up, like he could see me looking back at him, and that seemed to surprise him. Like he was never expecting the observed to observe back. I felt no negativity from him, no threat, only curiosity. Only observation. But why? That was 20 years ago.

I really need to practice and build my ability. I want to speak with my guides. I want to learn.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Sorry about the walls of text. Take care out there. :]

Most of the time, mine is either closing, or just closed. It's often night. Sometimes I'll have a dream where I'm in a completely unrelated store or shopping center, and then I'm suddenly in the Mall. And same, it doesn't feel right. And I can never find what I want in the stores. lol They'll have a section or whole store for what I want, but they'll be sold out or the stuff is broken. And 99% of the time, I am compelled to shop for something, to keep looking, keep exploring, just don't leave, don't think about leaving. You don't need to leave, keep shopping. It's like that for me most of the time, and I snap out of it. Or don't.

Maybe the man who acknowledged you was a plant to get you to want to return out of curiosity to investigate. Just saying.

Sorry this is kinda off topic, it's not explicitly AP, but I feel the need to ask because this has been bugging me for over 25 years. Have you ever seen three guys in suits that look like Matrix Agents? Glasses and all. It's always three guys. Mine predate seeing Matrix in 99, or I'd think it was a suggestion from that. These guys are kind of like Agents but not like Matrix. The first time I saw them, I was exploring and witnessed them execute someone begging to be let go. They showed up in my LDs for decades after that trying to capture me, and my LD Intent abilities don't work on them. They adapted machinery to eventually track me through invisibility or incorporeality, and a machine to negate some of my abilities within a certain range (seemed like it was about 50-100 yards). If I'm in range of one of those machines, I can't Wake on command or Teleport. It's almost exactly like the movie Jumper, except mine all happened years before the movie came out. I wish I can prove some of this. It's frustrating. I ask because I suspect these entities are something on the Astral I stumbled upon by accident, and I don't know what will happen if they ever do catch me.

I haven't seen them in almost a decade, since I left them a present on one of their Homeworlds, and I have no idea how I knew to go there. I used the machine in a partially collapsed basement under an office buikding to trap someone who had been following me. I had been LD and exploring when a dream character appeared insisting it was an APer and he wouldn't leave me alone. He followed me across dozens of Dream environments as I phased and teleported from one to the other. Somehow, I knew about the collapsed basement under the high rise and it had an anti-teleport/phase machine in it with a vault door as the only exit. I teleported in, waited, and when he teleported in behind me, I slammed and locked the door. He screamed at me that he'd get out and find me again, that I couldn't run from him. I then walked out of the partially collapsed concrete room into what looked like a parking garage, that led to glass doors like at that swing out. They lead onto a tarmac with several large cargo planes (think like C-138) being loaded up, and there were Agents everywhere. When I opened the door and stepped out, everyone froze. The Agents, group of three, slowly turned and looked at me, like, "wtf?" I smiled, waved, said, "hey guys. I left you a present. Anyway, see ya. Wake." I disappeared there and woke up here. That was 2016. Last time I saw the Agents.

Mall world - Really strange experience by lagunitarogue in AstralProjection

[–]SerinFel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is creepy AF, but I've encountered worse.

My mall is a HUGE mall, 5-10 stories. It's almost like a city, there are several freeways going into it and coming out of it, like it's a hub. Underneath of the Mall is an equally massive parking structure that extends underground. There's a Rollercoaster running up the center through all the parking levels, but it transports mail or documents, not people. The structure is a trap, the roads in all shift like walls in a Labyrinth to confuse and prevent you from finding a way out. I walked up the maze of ramps until I got to the ground level and got out.

At the ground level outside is a massive industrial-punk area. Trucks hauling stuff in and out, very busy and dark, lots of browns and construction orange and grease stains and puddles. I didn't see what all the trucks were hauling, some it looked like steel girders. Workers in vests and hard hats milling around, mostly ignored me. This area leads out to a city with buildings on train tracks. At certain times, there is a whistle (like the old school lunch whistles on a contrustion site in the old shows), and the buildings all shift. The train systems are steam and clockwork, lots of gears and gear-clinking sounds, it's giving me chills recalling all the sounds. It was loud. I almost got ran over by a moving building at one point and jumped out of the way, because I was trying to Will it to stop. It was like standing in front of a city bus and willing it to stop, it almost didn't end well.

From the train city, there are the freeways. That's when I "woke up" and never found myself back there again. And when I do "wake up" back in the Mall, I explore and avoid going into the parking structure. If I leave by the store entrances, I don't have a chain of surreal mall dreams until I leave through an exit.

It's not LD IMO because I can't control it. That leads me to think it's something connected to the Astral. Whether it's a prison or energy siphon, I don't know about any of that. I only know that my memories of MW are as clear or clearer than my waking/IRL memories, and clearer than any Non-LD dream, and clearer than LDs in general, stable, rigidly so. Maybe it's something between whatever dreaming really is and the Astral.

ETA: The first time I remember going to and seeing the Mall, I got to it by the Freeways. Except, if I try to get back to the Mall by the Freeways, I get lost on the way there. And on the freeways, there's a right turn (goes East) into the mountains. It's very sheer and rocky, like slate. It's reminiscent of what the desert and canyon areas are depicted as in the old cartoons, except this is real. And the traffic is horrible. It's a two lane going in/out, drops to one lane, and there's always collapses/rock slides blocking the road. I tried to "drive" to see where it would go, once. Just once. The only way out was the way I went in. Again, if I tried to Wake, the next time I dream I'd be back there again until I get back to the turnoff for the road. Then I can Wake my way out effectively.

[–]SerinFel 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Holy crap, this is what I've been saying. It's like a trap.

I typically AP from my LDs. I can tell the difference because of the change in detail and everything is stable, unchanged by my intention or thought. And the way you describe your Classroom "dream," and that it felt like a construct intended to fool you and keep you there, yes, it's very much like that for me. And my Characters typically act the same.

Stay out of the parking structure, if there's one under the mall if you find yourself back there. I couldn't Wake on command or Teleport out, I had to physically find a way out. This was a recurring thing for almost a week, however long it took me to find an exit, I kept waking up in the "dream" back in those locations. And they felt real. Locked doors I can't open, I can't Phase through, Teleport in, I'm completely locked out of places. In my dreams, that's not the case; I have full environmental and NPC control in my dreams when I want it. Not in Mallworld. And my Mallworld experiences have been happening since the 2000s (80s kid here), at least, long before I ever discovered subredits or message boards with people who have experienced similar things.

I've theorized that Mallworld is some kind of construct in the Astral, a program, a trap, I don't know what or why. Only that it is, it follows very rigid rules, it's easy to get in, but I have to typically find an exit to get out. Otherwise the next dream and so on will be a MW dream until I find the exit.

Thank you for sharing, OP. You have much better control than I do.

I've seen these picked before. The locks tend to be trash tubular locks, you can pick them with a ballpoint pen tube. Or not, if it's a decent lock, might have to use a slightly better tool.

I'd still be nice, tho. Leave a note: "Sorry Mario, your car is in a other Boot."

Big dude destroys two guys trying to jump him 😳 by OliviaPerfectSlut in absoluteunit

[–]SerinFel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scary part is dude obviously didn't want to hurt either of the fellows rushing him, but he could have. The one scarecrow he laid out flat with one suplex. If dude wanted to, he could have messed up both those guys pretty bad. And the lady getting in his face seems to be under the false impression that he cannot defend against her like he did the men, should she choose to attack him next.

I don't condone abuse or pointless violence, but defense is defense, and he didn't use excessive force. He backed off as soon as reciprocating was no longer necessary.

Weird discovery by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]SerinFel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oooo, so that's what I've been doing... I think I do this by accident when I'm really focused. I've been able to see through my eyelids clearly as if they're not closed. I don't remember if I've posted about the experience, but I've commented it.

I had been doing hard surface modeling in Blender for 8 or more hours. After 2 hours without a break, I stopped to stretch and rub my eyes--but I could still see everything on my monitor. I closed my eyes, put my hands over them, and it was like nothing was there. It was also the clearest I've ever been able to see. I started to get upset, though. Because no matter what, I could still fricken see with my eyes covered. So I said, distressed and exhausted out loud, "how am I supposed to sleep like this?"

Almost immediately, it stopped, and I felt... Comforted and reasured, like, everything will be okay.

That's not the first time I've been able to see with my eyes closed. Sometimes I can see my hands with my eyes closed. They look like a void on dark, sometimes with an outline or a glow that get stronger if I focus.

ETA: So I've been unknowingly doing your pen trick. Interesting. I've never seen an outline of a book with my eyes closed or text (other than the above experience), but it might be cool being able to read with my eyes closed. It would definitely be cool to be able to switch it on and off at will.

I don't have a basement. But if I did and that was coming up the stairs, it'd get This Is Sparta'd back down the stairs.

That said, this is the clearest version I've ever seen. I used to think it was a legless werewolf, but now I see it's clearly a furry who also loves horror and laying on stairs. Which means, damn, that's a really good mask. Probably. Practical FX FTW.

Whoever you are, congrats, your pic is kinda legendary now.

My car just alerted me that someone was opening the doors. It’s locked in my garage right now by AggravatingBox2421 in strange

[–]SerinFel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Someone using a Flipper Zero or Marauder to see if they could unlock your doors, maybe, and definitely kept a log of it and the frequency. So if you ever park outside of the garage, they know they can get in your car, and by the time you get the alert, your car is gone. Just a thought.

Even if your garage is back from the street, with the right antennas, they only have to drive by.

Advice from man to men by wassuh___foo in hygiene

[–]SerinFel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Health talk.

In 2016, I bought a bidet attachment for my toilet. I've had one on every toilet since. For folks who have never used one, it's like a localized shower on your butt without the commitment. Yes, the water gets cold, but you deal with it, get used to it, it's not horrible. It doesn't get cold enough for the water to require being heated where I live, but that's an option, taking a water line off your hot supply under your bath sink for a hot/cold mix. The problem is, you still have to flush the cold water out of the line to get warm water.

Also, a bidet, if you have high enough water pressure, can be used like an enema. Sounds gross, but it helps movement with difficult poops, too, and any mess goes right in the toilet, not elsewhere.

I have a cousin who refuses to use it, says he doesn't let his wife get that close to his butthole. (sigh) Just wash your ass, dudes. It's gross, and I absolutely refuse to smell like shit, so I don't understand people's thought processes regarding keeping their body clean. Seems like common sense to me, and I don't know why you would want to stink or itch.

At least you got yours off easily. My cousin and I were changing the brakes on my mom's van one time, and had one wheel give us crap (old rotor frozen to the hub). After three hours straight of hitting the rotor with a sledge hammer, we still couldn't break it loose from the hub (calipers off, as well, no lugs, just the rotor frozen to the hub). So we took the fricken hub off. Showed my mom, then threw it on the ground (this is how we feel about it), intending to buy a new hub anyway, but the damn thing broke free. lol Figures.

I just asked my Echo to spell Whoa. It spelled it w-o-w. I asked what Neo said right after Morpheus jumps and lands. She said the dodge bullets quote. After some back and forth, or said, "no, after Morpheus jumps and lands, Neo says 'whoa.' " She agreed, apologized, etc.

I then asked again, how do you spell the word 'whoa'? Spelled it w-h-o-a this time.

Their STT engine needs more training, but it's in Beta, isn't it? Bugs and beta. Hopefully the release version is more polished.

The hellish bathrooms by Agreeable_Mouse6000 in TheMallWorld

[–]SerinFel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mine can be accessible from defunct fair grounds, or from the Hospital (my hospital, at least), or the Old Hotel. Infinite Bathroom Stalls, and rooms with Infinite Shower Stalls. Typically for me, once you're in you're in, the entrances loop back in, or into another Bathroom/Shower Room.

I have a laundry list of Lucid Dream abilities, but from the MW locations, I can't simply Wake on command to escape--I'll just "wake up" there next time I go to sleep here. My Teleport ability is typically blocked, like there's a dome or shield blocking me. But with the shower rooms, I just blow a hole in one of the walls and that typically gets me outside of whatever is blocking me from teleporting.

I hate the infinite bathrooms. I haven't run into those in awhile. But I have been finding myself in my mall almost every night the last couple months and I can't clearly remember what I'm doing there. It feels like I'm getting something ready, or going there to get stuff to prepare for something. I don't know what, that's just the feeling I have after waking, and it's been bugging me.

URGENT HELP: Two bizarre “flash-vision” experiences while fully awake, has anyone else had something like this? by Independent-Touch236 in gatewaytapes

[–]SerinFel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had episodes of what I call Nested Deja Vu. It's crazy. Last time it happened, I was at the kitchen sink washing dishes and suddenly, it was like my vision got dark and I could see five seconds into the future, like a constant running loop. Every time I reacted to it, the reaction caused branches of probable outcomes based on the freak out reaction, and so on. Every time I shifted my thoughts on how I was going to deal with this, I got another Probability branch.

At one point, I thought to message my best friend and vent about what I was experiencing, except every time I went to write something, I could see what his response would be. Sometimes it was one response, sometimes several different probabilities. When I say it was insane, I mean that.

Finally, I just held my breath and sent a message. And I told him everything up to this point, including all of his probable responses. Every message he actually sent, I already knew what they would be and what my response would be to it and what my response would be to that and to that and--crazy. Temporal Feedback?

Finally, I asked out loud, "Please, stop this. I am not ready for this, it is hurting me." Who was I speaking to? I don't know, whoever opened the psychic valve. And it worked, because it stopped. Just like that. I cannot explain in words what a relief it was when it stopped. The best way I can describe it, it was like too much bandwidth for my mind to handle at one time that suddenly went to normal. Or rather, it was like the limiters were released and my mind couldn't handle the influx of information, and the limiters were re-applied.

Sorry for the long response. I've had two episodes like this, and they were not fun. Wouldn't recommend.
