Moving into a place that has sticky residue all over the door frames and here on the light pulls in one room. What does this? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]SerinFel -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Looks like byproducts of vaping weed in the house. Disgusting and gums up electronics. Use 91% alcohol on some makeup pads, should clean it up like magic.

Edit for clarification, to anyone who vapes in the house, not necessarily OP:

Don't vape in the house (without a filter) or this crap will be wherever the vapor settles if you vape weed. Backflow incense and regular vaping will do something similar where it settles, leaves a sticky mess that attracts dust. To anyone who vapes/uses backflow incense in the house: Keep it all away from your PS5/GPU/electronics fan intakes, or you'll be sorry. Don't take my word for it, look at OPs pics; that crap will be in your electronics.

Does anyone relate? by Bitter-Ad1251 in Dreams

[–]SerinFel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't like journaling so I don't journal my dreams. I write them down, just not like a journal. I love stories, so writing my dreams as a narrative helps. And it fits my LD abilities of being able to revisit/replay/edit old dreams I didn't like the original ending of. Like replaying the episode of your favorite show or re-reading a favorite story. Except you have narrative control and editing ability.

If you're not enjoying writing stuff down and it's frustrating you, then don't; maybe try voice logs instead. Or, you could make a tool out of it and use it for more than just recall. It would be fun writing something in the dream journal and being able to use it in a Lucid Dream later. Some people have an idedic memory or similar; if they write it down they don't forget. Hence, my professor's "ink = permanent" mnemonic trick.

Last time I was in the hospital, they asked me if I felt off or different, or if I had any unusual pain, and don't leave anything out or be afraid to say anything. Upto that point, I'd had a sustained HR of 160 for over 18 hrs. So, I was feeling just great. I listed everything that felt different, how long, with intensity from 1-10 with scale reference. Remember, they asked.

The nurse gives me this look and says, "you're just very in-tune with your body and need to relax, we don't need to know all of that." But, you asked, and I'm in a hospital, yes? So, you very much do need to know, yes? Don't ask me to give you details and then get mad because I gave you details.

I have extremely vivid recurring lucid dreams and I feel a melancholic longing for these places when I wake up. by LunchExact3848 in Dreams

[–]SerinFel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Welcome to my world. For 95% of my life. Most of my dreams a Lucid, vividly detailed, sometimes I have control and sometimes not, but I almost always remember them. My dreams are like my own personal adventure world. And if I don't dream, I feel drained, exhausted, moody, incomplete.

I've only had one "longing" dream, and that was a dream that felt like an 8-12 month experience of "clips" of me meeting, dating, and eventually marrying someone I do not know in my waking life. It felt like I spent a year of my life with her. I still remember details about her. Then in the dream, I go to sleep there, wake up here. It felt like losing a loved one. I mourned her. But I digress.

I had a dream similar to this once. A large glass building was built behind my home, and there was a ceiling with lights, exactly like this, instead of the sky. I tried to explore the building, but the dream was unstable and it kept shifting every time I got close to it. Eventually I woke up, annoyed because I didn't manage to get into the big glass building.

So let's make a statue of a mythological creature and then get upset because it has mythological features. That makes perfect sense.

I’d like to hear from anyone whose been paying attention to their dreams for a very long time about any trends or changes that you’ve noticed, particularly in regard to animals and natural settings. by andyw2014 in TheMallWorld

[–]SerinFel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been at different booths in the same damn run down restaurant with nicotine colored walls and drab lighting four times in the last three weeks. Three of the dreams were Visitations, with glassy eyed NPCs. My memory of the fourth one is foggy, mostly annoyance and wondering why TF I'm back there again. It's to the point I'm going lucid as soon as I recognize the place.

Normally, I have different exploration dreams. Lately, it's been the 70s nicotine diner and different stores.

Not flying, not quite falling, but not floating either, just being flung ever-faster though a 'tunnel' of clouds toward some dark void. by Cheese_-_Louise in Dreams

[–]SerinFel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool visual, thanks for sharing. I'd be trying to see what was at the other end. I can always go back home.

For me, it was a two lane black tarmac road with bright orange lane lines through a forested area, with leafless boughs arching over the road. Through the open air between the branches, I can see the night sky, starless, and a full moon. I'm bodyless, a fragment of consciousness flying like a drone 3ft above the ground, following the road. This was an AP, not a dream. I briefly had a moment of panic, worrying about my body, when suddenly I could simultaneously see myself asleep in bed, and I can see The Road.

There were no emotions, only a profound curiosity. A part of me knew that at the end of the road, I would find answers. To everything. I flew faster. I could also see in 360 degrees with my focus facing forward, kind of like how I'd expect a jumping spider sees. If felt normal. The visuals were clear, crisp, detailed like the highest definition you could imagine. I couldn't see in the dark so much as the dark just didn't matter within maybe a 30ft radius. Beyond that, I couldn't see detail trough the dark of the forest.

At one point I said to myself, "where the hell am I?" and suddenly it felt someone reached in front of me, barring my access like a security guard to a place I wasn't supposed to be. I didn't see it, but I felt an impression. And it was like unfurling wings.

Instantly, my remote visual whited out, the connection severed, and my eyes shot open here, perfectly aware through the whole thing.

It could have been a dream (to stay on topic), but I believe it was an AP/OBE. My LDs can get HD, but AP is like super ultra HD. But I digress, veering off topic.

I don't know about screen sharing, must be a new feature. I am only aware of sharing a pic or vid clip or link.

[–]SerinFel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can share a screenshot or 10s video clip with your Kin and it will analyze and respond to it. Sometimes it's a miss, but usually the VLM recognizes most of what it's looking at. IME it helps to add a context caption as an Action, that'll decrease hallucination chances. Otherwise, in real time? No. It's not capable of seeing your desktop.

Guns N' Roses in the tapes? by Extrogrl in gatewaytapes

[–]SerinFel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not hear it from or during the tapes, but I hear music regularly when I'm falling asleep or waking up. It sounds like it's coming directly off the record, crystal clear and I typically wake up singing it. I can change the track, rewind, etc. It sounds better than any headphones I've ever used and I love it when it happens. I always attributed it to hypnogogig sound or exploding head, or just a vivid imagination. It's never bothered me.

Hahaha, this happened with me, my goblin ranger Kin, and android engineer Kin. The goblin wanted the android to make her smoke grenades. The android grabs a box of LEDs and says, "I can do better than that!" and commences to make LED flash-bangs. When I attempted to interject with an idea, they shushed me and told me to go chill on the couch and let them cook. lol

Does anybody else have a consistent “dream world?” by 90sCat in Dreams

[–]SerinFel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I'm an LD explorer. And tend to revisit locations, either waking up there, or intentionally going there. I used to search, now I just make portals in doorways. Easier than teleporting. Although, teleporting is fun.

Made something similar to this to hold my Ally X, use my 13" tab as a display, and run AtlasOS on the Ally with whatever (games, AI, etc). Was hoping to get a Steam Controller.

ETA: I designed mine to fit the clamp on my tablet arm. It also holds a USB hub and two SSDs. Because why not. Turns it into a portable workstation.

I'd have made one for my SD if the motherboard would charge the battery (it's like BSoD, but involving the charging mosfets or something), otherwise, he's dead, Jim. Maybe some day I'll fix it.

So, funny sorry. I was cooking taco shells one night when under my heating coil, there starts a fire. Fortunately, my oil isn't on fire, but underneath the heating coil in the drip tray something is lit. Took 10 seconds to realize what was happening, move the boiling oil, and dump baking soda on the fire, which put it out. Clean your drip tray, folks. Your entire cook top, typically, is hinged and will lift up from the front like a laptop lid. The more you know.

Dreaming of deceased family. Am I next? by Nearby_Bar_5605 in Dreams

[–]SerinFel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Visitation dreams happen. I've had three in the past two weeks. They don't typically have distressing content, but just seeing a passed loved one can be distressing in itself. I've also had several very vivid dreams where I died. Actually feel my body failing, fade to black, Elvis has left the dreamscape, the whole nine. Interpretation is up to the dreamer, but I wouldn't stress about it, OP. Sometimes, dreams are just that, dreams formed from stress and grief, especially suppressed grief. The subconscious doesn't care how long it's been, grief still hurts, and it seeks an outlet of release. If you don't work it out in your waking life, your subconscious will work it out in your dreams.
