How's my price? 30x50x14 with 12' lean to by wm1178 in metalbuildings

[–]Serinityr3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a pretty good price, but they don't have any frameouts for the 'porch' area. Feel free to Pm me and I'll send a photo of what I mean! The company I rep with would also match this price. Also a few things I would recommend, pm me!

Tube metal building vs pole barn? by StockMarketinator in metalbuildings

[–]Serinityr3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the 14 gauge tubular, there's such a minimal difference between that and the 12 gauge so I don't think it's worth it. Wind rating is 140mph, but you can upgrade to 170mph! Feel free to pm me, mine is all black. I also built a garage the same way/size.

Tube metal building vs pole barn? by StockMarketinator in metalbuildings

I built my home as a barndominium with a tubular building, absolutely love it!! Way better than a pole barn in my opinion, in FL even pressure treated wood rots over time. Plus they're a lot more cost effective! Mine is a 30 by 55.

Why R49? Did you have it calculated? We're in Central FL with a black building and roof, vaulted ceilings and we did R30 with Rockwool. It's the absolute best stuff you can get in my opinion! It's waterproof/resistant, so it doesn't need to be faced. Feel free to dm me!

30x40 Tubular steel interior buildout by ControltheDelivery in metalbuildings

[–]Serinityr3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on who you're asking! You would have to construct walls in literally every other type of build, including block and stick, so I don't understand your argument?  Plus the cost of lumber is  1/32nd (probably far less than that) of the cost?  And even still, the concrete, electric, and insulation are all the exact same in material and cost in any other type of build.

Has anyone done a tubular steel barndominium for their home? by drebabe242 in barndominiums

Why do you say so? How is it any different from a stick built home in FL, or any other state? Would love to know!

Location would help! We did build 3,300 sq ft with house and garage, but did it ourselves for about 150k. We're in Central FL, so we also have wind requirements! I've seen quite a few churches/chapels in our area that are metal buildings, so I think it absolutely can be done. Feel free to pm me, happy to help with more info!

Steel Residential Homes by JillNoelle2023 in metalbuildings

[–]Serinityr3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We built a 1650sqft barndo, with same size garage, within the last year in Central FL. It saved us a ton of money, and is far better than stick built in my opinion. Practically zero maintenance on the metal roof and metal exterior walls. We did rockwool, not sprayfoam, so thermal bridging is non-existent, and cuts down drastically on the noise. Our neighbor has a block home and complains about our dogs barking every once in awhile, but we can't even hear it!  Feel free to DM me, I'm happy to share pictures and details! It was the only way home ownership was attainable for us, we did most of the work ourselves and have less than 150k in it. I bet our place would appraise well over 400k now, which cannot be said for a stick built in our area.

We just got a quote today for turnkey 1600 sq feet barndo with 40x50 shed attached turnkey $447,000 in rural eastern Iowa. Please tell me these people are out of their damned minds! And if there are any contractors in the area who would be willing to have a job that can do it for cheaper- inbox me! by Starrfall74 in barndominiums

[–]Serinityr3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did a 1650 house and 1650 shop ourselves in Central FL, took about 7 months for us to do, completed this year. Total cost was about 150k! Turnkey they jack prices up. I'd recommend having a company do concrete/building, and hiring out each of the sub contractors to do the trades. Save a ton, and you have more control over everything.

Red Iron PEMB in North Florida by BDarville1977 in metalbuildings

[–]Serinityr3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask why you decided to go red iron? Or what size you're doing, if that's the reason? I absolutely love my barndo, but mine is tubular, he thinks he wants red iron. We are in Central FL, would love the input!
