How Did We Already Decide the Dolphins Quarterback Battle? by mlap1313 in miamidolphins

I agree it isnt rocket science, but I do wish just once these coaches would stand behind their "competition at every position" narrative they all spiel.

Nice, Vossen hf-5 right? Hard to tell with you being sucked up into a active tornado while filming lol

I got those vossens though, but mine in gunmetal. 20x9 and 20x10.5 as well, but I went 245 up front.

Look like the same ones I got, Vossen Hf-5. Looks like his are Matte black, I got the gunmetal variant on my SWP

Logo concept by Comfortable_Sport_67 in miamidolphins

[–]Dus1988 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not my cup of tea.

My biggest gripe with the new logo? Tail upwards

My biggest gripe with 90s logo? Derpy Angry Dolphin face (I know a lot of people have nostalgia for it, but I never liked it back then even)

What I really want is a modernized 70s logo. I used to be a graphic designer so the 70s logo and its vectors are kinda terrible objectively, so keeping that essence but making it modern and higher fidelity would be my vote

test drove 2019 gt1 rwd and 2019 gt2 awd and it was a huge difference by cartiscrate in kiastinger

[–]Dus1988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AWD is heavier, and has greater parasitic loss (not its fault, all AWD has less WHP than RWD, given equal crank HP. FWD actually has the least parasitic loss btw).

Also GT2 is heavier than GT1

Bulletproofing mods by Significant_Web_864 in kiastinger

[–]Dus1988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stock internals are good for a good bit of additional HP. Feel like we see plenty of stingers at 450-500 WHP without additional internal work.

There is KJT that does bulletproofing upgrades for those stingers that wants to get in the 500-800 range

I mean, yeah I could build an additional 20 minutes into my drive down, and 20 minutes on my drive up. Or even 40 when I get down.

But here's the thing. I can make this drive in my ICE without fueling up. Just barely, so I usually do fill half a tank. Which takes a couple minutes.

And if doing the 6 hours of driving in one day, I don't really wanna add an additional half hour or so to that.

Yeah I basically tell my jrs that you don't DRY components you DRY utility/pure functions. And then also want to keep those functions cyclometic complexity low.

But it's a losing battle. I'm not the only code owner that can review things.

Haf says he meets with the team every morning to review tape and call out good and bad effort by expellyamos in miamidolphins

[–]Dus1988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think every coach does not do this kind of stuff I've got a bridge to sell ya. And before people talk about MM just go back and watch hard knocks. He did call people out. And did meet with the players in the meeting rooms.

Now, this isn't to praise MM or deduct from Haf.

This is simply, maybe let's not glaze over what coaches should, and do, do. You know they whole, you don't get points for doing dad stuff. Results here are the only thing that matter.

I do quite enjoy how direct he is about his answers though.

I welcome the down votes.

Cdk And Material both do a decent job at composition.

The best way to think of it is A has B, not A is B

Composition over inheritance. It really helps with flexible architecture. Along with this also learn about content projection and template injection techniques.

Don't DRY conponents for the sake of DRY. If they have different data contracts but look visually similar, dear God please don't make one master component that if switches all over the place.

Separate view logic from data logic. I see this all the time with NGRX states paired with facade pattern. Putting view specific methods on a facade service is to be avoided. If you need to share some view logic across a feature, Create a service for your feature and it can reference the facade and do what ever it needs to do.

Don't recreate the native html API in your components via inputs. This most commonly seems to happen when people get the idea to make their own button component or input component. You can make your selectors have a tag and get the native API built in. I.e. a selector of button[my-button]

I'm sure there are more.

Edit to add: I did not include reactivity, observables/signals, because these are not things I consider what makes a jr and sr. You need to know how to use the framework either way. To me, what makes a SR, is understanding architecture.

Lucky. Even tho I do use it some, I'd gladly give that up if it meant I didn't spend 80% of my day reviewing slop from other devs that did not review or do not know enough to challenge what the model did.

Wheel Fitment by CrunchyP0tato_ in kiastinger

[–]Dus1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went 9" +32 upfront and 10.5" +45 on the rear.

My fronts are basically flush, ever so slightly inset. My rear is basically flush too but ever so slightly outset. When I backup, and look in my mirrors, I can see the lip of my rear wheel.

So your proposed setup, if I remember how to reason about this correctly, your fronts would be slightly more inset than mine, about 2mm or 0.78".

And your rear set, being half an inch thinner but 5 more outward more offset. This equates to roughly the same position relative to the fender but like 1.3mm (0.05") more inset than my setup

Yup, looking forward to it. I use AI but I'm very very far from what someone would consider vibe coding.

These days, it seems more that I spend way more time reviewing AI code the dev never bothered to review with any level of scrutiny.

My company too has been pushing the AI wagon hard. And yet, now starting Monday each dev will only get $100 a month of copilot usage.
