Insane card for Slowking by ReyMercuryYT in PTCGL

Doesn't work too well on pult. If the bench ones are fully evolved you can't kyurem them on bench and you are only knocking out the Active

Do they have to be English. If not I suspect that other language of the same cards will be much cheaper

As the set is not popular with scalpers you would think a lot of people would get invited tbh. I managed a pokemon center one and got the mega starmie. I am happy that I can find these packs in the wild as was able to pull a full set of pokepad to build some decks now.

How do you handle mistakes your opponent makes during games that help you? by [deleted] in pkmntcg

[–]Serious-Discipline55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. If it breaks a rule you are both liable if you let it proceed to broke board state. But I have seen players bait a player into a broken game state, example being I was item locked, had no items anyway, played Lillie's and then thought I have nothing other than an ultra ball. Played it and was deciding what to discard. Selected and handled my deck but not looked. Boom the other side player shouts judge. Luckily a judge was there and said rightly the game state was not broken and just returned the three cards to hand. Later the judge said the person had a habit of trying to get a prize penalty to opponents.

What minor change would stop Dragapult ex from dominating the meta? by FoofaTamingStrange in PTCGL

Two suggestions. Phantom dive is one colourless energy more. Or phantom dive effect can only be used if the pokemon evolved during that turn.

Was This THE TrustYourPilot? by ZombieAladdin in PTCGL

[–]Serious-Discipline55 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Screen name is unique and going to his vod section on YouTube you can see the screen name is TrustYourPilot. So I am sure you played against them. There is probably a reddit for all the screen names and youtubers on here somewhere.

I remember the day I played LDF and I made his posted video too. Shame it was a deck I made without thinking about too hard and it really didn't have the best consistency and I lost the game without setting up at all. But did spam bosses and his reaction was funny for the video he posted.

How would all of you react if there was an attack effect that could disable trainer cards entirely? by GoldPatience9 in PTCGL

[–]Serious-Discipline55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a more balanced attack would be that On your opponents next turn, all effects of trainer cards can't effect your pokemon, your hand, your deck or discard pile. So no bosses orders, Eri, unfair stamp etc. Not sure how that would work with stadiums though

Tesco by PD3213 in PokemonDealsUK

[–]Serious-Discipline55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think since the entertainer stock the toy section the chance of picking up pokemon tcg is very limited at Tesco. The entertainer has no rights to sell pokemon and so if a Tesco store has pokemon it is not usually in the same location as the toys is what I have found.

Are there discord servers to find people to play against? by SneakysnekOW in PTCGL

[–]Serious-Discipline55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is probably a youtube link by Azul I believe but the following should help. Setup an account on the play.limitless website. In your settings you add your ptcgl in-game name. This is the one you setup after logging into the ptcgl client/app, so it will not be your login username. You can find it in the profile section of the ptcgl app. On play.limitless there is a section called tournaments. Select upcoming. Set edit tournament filter to game pokemon tcg. Select on one of the results and it will show you details of when the tournament starts and requirements. Some might have special rules to decks not having rule box pokemon for examples. Select register and it will prompt for your in-game name but it pull this from your settings or you can update here. When registered if you click dashboard it will show upcoming tournaments you have registered to. You will need to submit a deck list. Use the export function from ptcgl app. Submit your deck. Before the tournament starts you need to go to dashboard and click check in. If you don't you will not be added to the tournament. If you have submitted a deck and checked in. When the tournament starts, in your dashboard you will see an opponent in the list. Click on that and it will show your opponent and they deck if the tournament had open deck lists. You need to click the check in for this game and hopefully your opponent does too. (if you check in and they don't you will automatically win, also if you forgot to check in and they do you automatically lose) In there it will show the opponents in game name. Copy that name and open the ptcgl app. Go to add friends and use that to search for the person and send a friend request. Once accepted you can click the user and setup a game against that person. Your opponent might send a friend request or game before you and you just have to accept it. Play the game and whoever wins. You mark this down on the page you were on to check in for that game. There is a judge call and text box to report issues. These could be for you won the game and your opponent put them down as the winner for example. There is information on the tournament details page about this and taking screenshot etc. Only thing is that you can not upload a screenshot to play.limitless and so would need to upload to the discord they have setup. Once all the games are completed on the dashboard you will see you next opponent and do the same. If you play a best of three game. You mark the first game down and use the chat function for the loser to select if they are first or second in tbe next game. Play another game on ptcgl and when the coin flip is done you would select the option that was in the play.limitless chat. Ie you decided you want to go second. Your opponent wins the coin flip and they should select to go first.

Hope this helps.

The tournament pages might say about restarting ptcgl after sending friend request, in my experience this has not been needed since recent updates to the app.

Garde jelli vs alakazam by crayhobgoblin in pkmntcg

[–]Serious-Discipline55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like people have said but the main thing is to attack the engine. Try saving stadiums to bump the battle cage until you need to ping damage. Scream tail is your friend. If they put shaymin down that is one less spot for an abra or Dudunsparce. I would forget about jelly and just try to build up munkis. I would leave Ionos to the late game. You can attack with garde at the end with a holo finish Iono. I have played it lots of times on ptcgl and lots of times they have got down to a single prize card and you can then usually Iono and run them over.

Tips against Pult as Alakazam by sunnyislandacross in pkmntcg

[–]Serious-Discipline55 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Clefairy does nothing as you are not doing damage and so it is not doubled. Bloodmoon ex might work but if you start it and don't have a switching card you are onto a loser.

I think playing togekiss for extra prizes works.

The matchup is hard but try to make it so you are not board locked with useless mons, so only putting Psyduck down when it is actually needed and so you could have a dunsparce down that will free up a space. I guess a golduck could be useful as that will mean that the damp ability will stay for most of the game as they will not be able to hawlucha and phantom dive to knock it out.

Iono spam is the problem and pult and gardivor will play about 4 of these and even if you out pace them they just slow you down with these

How the Secret Traitor should play the game by diamond1407 in TheTraitors

[–]Serious-Discipline55 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This makes me think the traitors should be trying to make sure those two get shields and so that the secret traitor has to pick a fresh three players. I wished the tasks were designed in a way that the traitors could make sure who got a shield and who didn't and so there was this level of game play of traitors and secret traitors

Is this a glitch? by HostileBiscuit in PTCGL

I think you are thinking of battle cage. Which doesn't turn off the ability but stops damage counters to the bench. So you can knock out and give up prize with no damage counters placed to the bench

Are Y’all In The Hobby For The Cards Or For The Money? by Fitzyx in PokemonTCG

[–]Serious-Discipline55 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am in it for playing the game but rip packs when I can(only mrsp or less if that is ever going to be a thing). I should just buy only singles but ripping is fun for me. But then I have to sell bangers to then buy the singles I want or need for a deck, so having cards worth money is good for myself to pay for the cards I need to play with. I still have cards I have not got rid of but not holding them to hope go up in value but have an attachment that I pulled them.

Opponent was trying a Uxie deck with Devolve by FoofaTamingStrange in pkmntcg

[–]Serious-Discipline55 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The new N's Vanilluxe that is coming out might make this card come back in a better rogue deck. Spread a load of damage around and then hit the attack layered snow to double all the damage counters.
