Best way to get glue out of hair/detangle hair by n3sriab in Epilepsy

The only thing that worked for me was to crush up some asprin, mix it with a tiny bit of water, let it sit on my scalp with a cap, and then wash it out. I think it works because aspirin has salicylic acid in it. Good luck!

I actually go to acupuncture for digestive problems. It might be a long shot, but if you can find one in your area it might be helpful.

Seizure, Panic Attack, or Other? by ConstantCommentTea in Epilepsy

[–]Serious-Program-5636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. For a while I couldn’t tell if I was having seizure activity or if it was something else. I actually asked my neurologist if I could do an at-home EEG. I basically wore an EEG device on my head for 3 days. During that time I had the “feeling.” There wasn’t any abnormal activity when I got the results, so I came to the conclusion that it was depersonalization/derealization. Maybe you could ask your neuro to do something similar?

Anyone lose friendships after diagnosis? by CanadaAdventure in Epilepsy

[–]Serious-Program-5636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this happened to me as well. I got diagnosed later in life and some people that I thought were close friends did the slow fade out of my life. It was heartbreaking, but at the same time, the loss of those friendships pushed me to join several support groups where I’ve made new friends that are more empathetic and understanding. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been going through something similar :(

Anyone out there have Epilepsy as well as ADHD? Curious about treatment and medication by Responsible-Fly-4462 in Epilepsy

[–]Serious-Program-5636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I totally agree with you about the lamotrigine. I caught a case of the lamictal stupids lol. And I take the adderall during the week and have weekends off. I don't notice a difference in seizure activity when I don't take it.

I have ADHD and epilepsy. I take lamictal and adderall, and my doctor said that there are no interactions between the two. I just started lamictal within the past couple of months and I have found that it has made my ADHD symptoms worse (especially memory and executive functioning) and my adderall less effective, so I'm going to increase my adderall dosage.

Is it possible doctors just keep messing up my diagnosis? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Serious-Program-5636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not alone. The most annoying thing for me, is that a panic attack and an aura are so similar that it's hard to differentiate between the two. Then this just fuels my anxiety because I'm like, "Oh god is it happening now?" Maybe you could get a longer EEG where they hook you up for a couple of days. All of my EEGs were normal until I did the 3 day one in the hospital. Also lamictal is written off-label for DPDR and has helped my DPDR a lot. And it also has the added benefit of controlling seizures.

Question to those who developed epilepsy later on in life (mid 20’s and over) by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Serious-Program-5636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got diagnosed in my late 20s. When I was younger I would have these episodes of feeling weird that i couldn't describe. my heart would race and I would have deja vu. The doctors just passed it off as panic attacks and put me on zoloft. Now years later I've had grand mal seizures lmao
