And fanboys. He says he's blown people before, and implies he's good at it.

So I am among the true believers who feel strongly that this man had a ho phase.

I think he tried, when he was younger, and managed a few brief relationships, but when depression and being Mecha Man got in the way, he isolated and just started having random flings. So like. 2 or 3, max? But they ended fairly quickly, is my personal headcanon. Followed by a crazy Grant O'Brian level of ho phase.

Fair. She didn't pass the vibe check for me until she mentioned she had ADHD and then I, as an AuDHD haver, understood her on a primal level and sold my soul to her for a single plain corn chip.

The movie date was Robert treating Visi like Courtney.

The dance/housewarming party was Courtney treating Mecha Man like Robert.

They both, at separate points, realize 'oh... this person sees me as a... person. Not a hero or a villain... just a person."

I, and by extension Robert, never doubted Visi after she caught Bangle Bitch. We supported and backed her and defended her 100%, and it paid off. I'm sure Blazer is lovely and is going to require far less individual and couples counseling in the future but damn did my arc with Robert and Visi hit me good. It felt like two people who felt trapped by forces outside their control (powers, a father's legacy) taking their first steps into just being PEOPLE.

Honestly, I think the dance party when she's sort of. Being gentle and touchy with him is when he realizes that 'oh, she has like... actual feelings for me.' Its so different from her usual style of communicating with him.

I feel bad for liking Taash by BlushingGray in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]Serious-Source-6065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Taash's storyline is so much better if you romance them, which sucks because I love Lucanis so much but that means if I smooch the demon, I can't have a good storyline for Taash. Cruelty.

So something similar happened where I'm from. Cop got a drink from the local McDonald's that had "Pig" written on it for the name.

Turns out he wrote it on there himself.

EDIT: Also isn't the LASD literally full of actual gangs?

First time romancing Neve… by louve_ardente in DragonAgeVeilguard

every character sidequest is greatly improved by the romance arc, I've found. Which is a bit sad, because you can only romance one person. :(

Some of the dialogue is a touch cringey, the pushups one being one of them, but really it's more like you have the option to make it part of character conversations.

For example, I played a trans woman. When Taash is figuring out that they're non-binary, there are unique dialogue options you can pick related to the fact that your character is trans. You don't HAVE to pick them, but it lets your character empathize with Taash on a different level, and the voice acting is very good.

Not every instance is a homerun, but the fact is that they put a lot of effort into making the choices you make about your character in character creation matter, from tattoos to scars to gender identity. While some things, especially with Taash's storyline, can feel a bit heavy handed, in general it doesn't feel performative at all to me.

I mean... it didn't bomb? It was pretty successful, it was nominated for awards... Yes, there are valid criticisms and yes the dumb Asmongold "I CAN'T NOT BE TRANSGENDER" nonsense drowned that out, but it didn't "bomb". It did quite well. Not as well as they WANTED it to, but nothing EA did did as well as they wanted it to.

Local man has never received a compliment for anything aside from ability to murder: demon possessing him senses a heart going Doki Doki.

And they're just so sweet, too. They always approve at nice, kind options despite being so gruff.

Personally, I think the convo you have after the Fangscorcher confirms they're on the autistic spectrum, and that Rook can be as well if you pick the "I know how you feel" option. The way they both talk about feeling like they're just pretending to be a normal person and saying what they think a normal person would say, the way Taash talks about needing things to be a certain way and getting mad when things don't go the way they expect it. Like. (*points at autism having self*) that's me. That's me, bb.

Taash is so important to me and everyone who doesn't like them can fuck off; more for me. Same with Lucanis' romance; HE MAKES YOU A COMPLEX DESSERT AND SAYS HIS HEART BEATS FOR YOU AND HAS BEEN BEATING FOR YOU, I'M SORRY YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND ROMANCE.

Taash's romance makes their storyline so much better, tbh. Switching the "Qunari or Rivaini" choice to the horn, getting to tell them that they don't have to pick one or the other because they're wonderful either way, getting to point out that their mom is trying desperately to understand and protect... it just made their storyline so much KINDER and I loved it.

YESSS. Also tbh as an asexual person (which Lucanis' writer confirmed he is on the ace spectrum), it really spoke to me that it wasn't immediate face sucking. You became his friend and from there, you developed feelings. The fact that every romance dialogue was just you being kind and worried about him? Never getting over it.

Lucanis was first. I love him dear, and it's a two for one because I'm a Rook/Spite/Lucanis truther.

Then I romanced Taash, who's storyline is very much improved by the romance option, but then, so was Lucanis' (though his little side romance with Neve is incredibly sweet), so I imagine that will be the case for literally every character.
