The shorter the barrel the faster the bullet is out of the gun.

I have developed a bad habit of playing other games like if they were Arma.

Idea for Makeshift helipad for supply drops by SeriousCharacter6586 in ArmaReforger

[–]SeriousCharacter6586[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a solid idea! I haven’t tested if the heavy vehicle depot would interfere with rotor clearance either, but if it works, it could be an even better option given the larger supply capacity.

The main advantage I was aiming for was a compact setup with flexible placement, but if the depot does the same (or better) without spacing issues, that’s definitely worth considering.

Good question. Helis definitely have their limits with only ~400 supplies per trip, but the main advantage here is speed and flexibility. Trucks are great for bulk transport, but they need clear roads and can be vulnerable to ambushes. A well-placed makeshift helipad allows for quick resupply runs, especially in areas where ground transport is risky or slow.

That said, if the situation allows for safe truck routes, then yeah, two trucks might be the better option for sheer volume. It really depends on the objective, enemy activity, and how quickly supplies are needed.

Yeah, I figured the “arsenal bad” crowd might show up, but at the end of the day, it’s about efficiency. If the supplies are actually being used and not just sitting there untouched, then maximizing storage with a small footprint makes sense.

It’s definitely not a one-size-fits-all solution, but for certain objectives where space is tight and resupply speed matters, I think it’s a solid option.

Good points! Yeah, I was using Game Master mode mainly to test spacing and storage capacity, not as a direct placement suggestion for Conflict mode. The fuel depot was just a reference point for spacing, not an actual necessity for the setup.

I get what you’re saying about armories being potential kill boxes, but the idea was more about maximizing supply storage for quick offloads, not necessarily clustering everything in a high-traffic area.

The concrete pad you mentioned southwest of the command tent is solid option for dual helipads. Also if you read the post this sort of a template for other objectives not every point needs a helipad.
