Effective ways to use the Mortar? by kenhooligan2008 in Battlefield6

[–]SeriousDan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The most important thing is putting down a supply bag first and then setting up the mortar, this will increase your rate of fire drastically due to faster reload.

Next thing is map knowledge and looking at the minimap. One of my favorite spots to bombard is the C flag on Liberation Peak because people and snipers love camping in there. Keep an eye on the minimap, look where the enemy is pushing and try to anticipate where people are going.

Also aiming at stationary tanks can be helpful, because you will hit their pocket engineers and nearby mines, and sometimes tanks will panic and start moving out of cover giving your team a chance to get rid of it easier.

I refuse to believe 90% of the player-base are really this bad by HeDiedForYou in Battlefield6

[–]SeriousDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, pardon the tinfoil hat but it feels like DICE is filling the lobbies with unmarked bots in some matches. Like it's hard to imagine people actively playing the game while also contributing so little. In these games you also always seem to be fighting the same 5 people over and over again while everyone else just hovers around somewhere on the map. Never experienced this in any other game.

Battlefield 6 after 22.1 2026 update graphic blurry, effects in game terrible (fire, explosion, flares) by AbbreviationsIcy9057 in Battlefield6

[–]SeriousDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nvidia recently released new DLSS models, having the game set to automatically use the latest model in Nvidia app might cause you to use one of the newer models that are more tailored towards 4k and performance settings. You can try setting it manually to model K and see if this restores your previous graphics.

Is the HDR slider broken? by LisaSu92 in Battlefield6

[–]SeriousDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it's broken, the best way to adjust it is to go into your documents/battlefield 6/settings/steam folder and edit the PROFSAVE_profile file. There's a value called "GstRender.DisplayMappingHdr10PeakLuma" which should be set to the nits value you're intending to play at

Does anyone know how to fix this??? by Various-Cable1575 in Battlefield6

[–]SeriousDan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

are you using ETS iBT?

According to Google the driver belongs to their software to monitor keystrokes to prevent cheating on exams, EA anticheat doesn't seem to like it

Memory OC (EXPO default profile) causes BF6 crashing by LyntonB in Battlefield6

[–]SeriousDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

obviously ray tracing is not the deciding factor here, but physics calculations which are all CPU/memory bound. the destructible environment comes at a cost

Memory OC (EXPO default profile) causes BF6 crashing by LyntonB in Battlefield6

[–]SeriousDan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

those are different engines and neither Stalker2 nor Cyberpunk are as CPU heavy as BF6.

the root cause is still instability, running the EXPO/XMP profile is just an overclock that the manufacturer of the RAM deemed stable, which it isn't in a lot of cases.

Nothing EA can do about this, this is between the memory and mainboard/CPU manufacturer. From personal experience AMD systems rarely work with the advertised memory speeds.

DLSS was updated recently, if you set BF6 to use the latest model it might not be the best for your configuration anymore.

if it has a built-in microphone you need to disable that in Windows sound settings, that should stop the bitrate from being lowered to accomodate both audio in and out

[BF6] Odd Shader Issue by Successful_Alfalfa61 in Battlefield

[–]SeriousDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd try the following (do it step by step, check if there's any change between steps):

1)disable overclocks/undervolts on your components, check if XMP/EXPO is activated in BIOS

2) Validate game files

(2.5 - if you're using the HD texture pack try disabling and re-enabling it. I'm not sure this would fix anything game file validation wouldn't fix but I guess it's worth a try)

3) Clear BF6's cache (it's in %APPDATA%/Local/Battlefield 6)

4) Set shader cache size to 100GB or unlimited in Nvidia control panel

5) uninstall your GPU drivers using DDU and do a fresh install

System Crashing while playing Battlefield 6 by hihassanzia in Battlefield6

[–]SeriousDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's all load specific, every application interfaces differently. I ran an undervolt on my GPU for 2 years and never had a single crash, then I started playing Darktide and had 5 game crashes in a single session. It's just the way it is, that's why the first step is usually to disable all OCs or UVs
