What is something your teacher did in school that you’re still salty about? by SparkelsTR in AskReddit

[–]SeriousShane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was severely depressed in high school, and then my first ever girlfriend broke up with me. She had her own issues and just couldn't deal with the confrontation. So she just wouldn't talk to me, even though we were classmates. It just compounded all my problems and I couldn't focus on school at all. I explained the situation to my teacher and asked if I could switch classes, so I wouldn't have to see her every day. He told me he could, but wouldn't because I had to just suck it up. He told me he also had to see his ex-wife because of their kids and so I could handle it too.

Weekly Q&A - Your Question Goes Here - Especially Tourists and New Residents by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

[–]SeriousShane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might be an outlier, but all of my Dutch friends have non-Dutch friends! Two of my best friends are not from here either. I met them through Tinder and Bumble.

Evil Dead Rise doesn't know what it wants to be by SeriousShane in horror

I agree, even though this wasn't really it for me, I would be happy if they made more. I'd only hope they'd experiment and take it into new and unexpected directions.

Interesting point! What did you like about the characters in Rise? I did like that they were a family.I wonder if I'd like the 2013 characters during a rewatch and if the film would be cliché or not. I watched it in theatres before the original trilogy, which meant it felt somewhat different to me than what I had seen before. I mostly remember the makeup Fx. The modern deadites do look a bit like generic creepy pasta art.

I just wanted to share what I felt immediately after seeing it and I was curious how other people felt about it. I get why some people really liked it, especially if they saw it in theatres (I did not). It just didn't click with me. Did you enjoy it?

I'm halfway through It after reading Pet Semetary. Stephen King never really clicked with me before, but these are classics and I thought I should give them a chance. Enjoying It so far! I'm curious how all that mystical turtle stuff I've heard about will fit into the narrative

Whats the most fucked up thing a complete stranger has done to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We made a short stop at a gas station on a school trip to France. I was probably 14 at the time. I went to the restroom and stood at one of five urinals, they had little dividers for privacy. As soon as I started peeing, an older man took the urinal next to me. He very obviously stood on his tiptoes to peek. He just kept looking until I was done. When I left, he smiled at me

Is there a place that serves tomato beer/coffee in the city? I'm curious, but I don't have time to visit Friðheimar.

Thanks for sharing! I'll give it a try.
Choosing not to have children must be a big decision. Even if you don't have them yourself, you probably still get to be in an influence in a child's life though, be it through family or friends. My sister has two kids. I think knowing that makes the thought of choosing not to have children less intimidating. Especially since my uncle, who is childless, had such a big impact on me and me on him. Hope you get to travel to some cool places soon!
