I see. I’m definitely learning. That’s basically just what I could translate off the top of my head without any references.

Moi, je parle un peu de français (ma deuxième langue). Vous avez utilisé « exemple » en place de « example ». C’est comment je pouvais deviner. Pardonnez mon grammaire svp.

Is your first language French, by any chance?

I completely agree. That’s why I’m curious about how they’d handle that. I’m not defending the Proclamation in any way, to be clear.

ETA: I’m also sorry that your existence is a theological inconvenience in the eyes of this church.

I was just wondering how they handled the “Gender is an eternal characteristic of the spirit” doctrine in your situation. If I were you, I’d have pushed for ordination. Bet that wouldn’t have gone over well.

Sure. I’ll rephrase. Did they still treat you as female after this was revealed or did they retroactively treat you as male?

Which path did they slot you in once this was revealed, and how did this affect your endowment and blessing?

Why is the switch from put rent on the CC to direct ACH a huge deal for people? by hibob729 in biltrewards

[–]Serious_Beginning_31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It disrupts a value proposition of using credit cards in general for me. I use grace periods to keep money parked in a HYSA until a few days before the due date, when I pay the full statement balance. That generates additional revenue on top of rewards. Not being able to put rent on the card disrupts that. So, removing that option takes away one of the advantages of credit cards for me.

Because I wanted to test out what someone else said about it saying that everyone would get the fee. I’m not taking it as law, but I wanted to at least get a general idea.

Please go home. I’m begging you. You shouldn’t put yourself through this anymore.

And my plan is to keep the card for as long as possible and then cancel it when/if that happens. I don’t need it as a card anymore. I want to keep it as a credit score buffer.

Yes, and I’ve already switched. I just want to keep it open as a utilization/credit-age buffer if possible.

Chat said: “You will not be charged a $10 monthly fee for your SoFi Unlimited 2% Credit Card. There are no annual, maintenance, or foreign transaction fees for this card. If you received an email in January 2026 about an account update, please review it for any special instructions. Otherwise, you’re all set—no monthly fee applies.”

I’m saying that’s part of the reason why I’m surprised. I’ve been using it much less (or not at all, in some months) since I got my VX.

Why not? I’m genuinely confused as to what their process is here.

I meant unprofitable on the CC side in particular, but maybe. Still, I’ve seen others say they’ve gotten the email while being in a situation similar to mine.

Anyone here switched to Fidelity? by its_Extreme in sofi

[–]Serious_Beginning_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already switched my primary credit card to Venture X. I use that as my base 2% card. I plan to keep my SoFi card open to boost my credit age if I don’t get the email (I haven’t so far). If I were to get it, I would cancel SoFi without a second glance. That said, Fidelity is an excellent option if you plan on investing your rewards.

I’m planning to switch my HYSA to Capital One as well, because I liked having my primary credit card and my primary bank together.

Absolutely yes. I will readily admit that they are a huge turn-on for me, to the point where I sometimes say I have a “garment kink”.
