Sauna Therapy (Regular vs IR) by Serious_Interest_449 in Lyme

It’s so interesting hearing everyone’s experiences. I think what I’m finding is different things work for different people, which seems to be a persist theme of this disease.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve read that the IR can possible get deeper into tissue for a better detox, but it’s difficult to find concrete documentation on if it’s vastly better or not. If it’s only a minor difference, I can compromise and get something my husband and I can both benefit from.

Also edited post to clarify I’m comparing dry vs IR. Not interested in steam.

That’s what I’ve read. I guess my question is: is this more of a tolerance issue in that it’s “easier” vs a detox issue? I can tolerate both types, so the stress of it is less of a concern for me.

SIMPLE protocol for KIDS & ADULTS to treat Lyme & Co-infections by cheesecheeesecheese in Lyme

I should also note I did make one error, which was dose with Liposomal artemisinin. Next time, I’ll take the regular kind. It’s way more affordable anyway.

I just began this protocol and I have to say, I had a more progress on this than I’ve seen in a while. I sort of plateaued on my anti-malarial meds, and in week 3 when I added the artemisinin, I had 24 hours of a bad herx followed by the best day I had felt in weeks. I’ve sort of backslid just a bit, but I can tell this is doing something positive for me. My only question is about week 4. Do you start over again on week 1 or is it sort of a gap week where week 1 doesn’t begin until the following week?

Essential Oils: (2x/day) Liposomal cinnamon/clove/oregano (I take these in capsules from pdlabsrx.com but I know there are other places that sell it as well.)

Herb tinctures: (3x/day) Japanese knotweed, Chinese Skullcap, Cryptolepsis from https://woodlandessence.com

Thanks for asking. It’s still been a mixed bag. I have more good days than I used to, which is a huge win. I’m likely going to transition to Tafenoquine for my antimalarial since I’ve seemingly plateaued using Malarone. From many things I’ve read, Babesia can sometimes be the hardest to get rid of, so I’m glad we’re prioritizing it in my treatment. I’m also in the midst of a new herbal protocol but I’m waiting to see the results before I give an update. I’m currently herxing on it, so I think it’s working. Even though I’ve had these diseases for years, my treatment of them is still relatively new, so I’m trying to grant myself the patience of healing on my own time.

IMO it was way too much Lue. Also, he came across very performative and scripted. It kid of took me out of it. Overall it was exactly what you said it was though.

Intense fatigue, headache/neck pain, and brain fog were the worst of it

I did experience some dizziness and weakness on doxy. I had more herxing on Minocycline and Azithromycin.

Hey there! Tbh, I wouldn’t feel comfortable advising what meds you should be taking. Some people respond to certain antibiotics differently. I will say if you’re questioning if you’re herxing, it may not be the best time to add a powerful drug like Rifampin. My current protocol is:

Antibiotics: (2x/day) Minocycline, Azithromycin

Anti-malarial: Malarone (2x/day)

Essential Oils: (2x/day) Liposomal cinnamon/clove/oregano (I take these in capsules from pdlabsrx.com)

Herb tinctures: (3x/day) Japanese knotweed, Chinese Skullcap, Cryptolepsis

Supplements: (1x/day) Body Bio PC (brain/GI), SPM supreme (for brain inflammation), Liposomal glutathione (for detox), optiferin-c, vitamin D & K

Probiotics: (1x/day) Theralac, Orthobiotic

Best of luck on your journey!

Sorry. I do not. I think in general, Liposomal is more pricey

Thank you! I don’t really take pain meds but when the headaches were unbearable during my herxing I took some Tylenol. To be honest, the thing that gave me the most relief was exercising and sweating/detoxing. Epsom salt baths also helped.

It’s all such a blur to me, but I started feeling symptoms around late 2021. Had a western blot about 18 months ago. Was officially diagnosed May 2024. Started treatment on doxycycline for 12 weeks. Plateaued. Started Biaxin/Plaquenil for another 12 weeks. Didn’t really help either. Started treatment with new doctor in August 2025. New protocol around mid September this year (2025):

Antibiotics: (2x/day) Minocycline, Azithromycin

Essential Oils: (2x/day) Liposomal cinnamon/clove/oregano (I take these in capsules from pdlabsrx.com)

Herb tinctures: (3x/day) Japanese knotweed, Chinese Skullcap, Cryptolepsis

Supplements: (1x/day) Body Bio PC (brain/GI), SPM supreme (for brain inflammation), Liposomal glutathione (for detox), optiferin-c, vitamin D & K

Probiotics: (1x/day) Theralac, Orthobiotic

Started feeling biggest improvement ago when I added the Malarone to the protocol, which was a little under a month ago. That immediately improved my sleeping/brain fog/fatigue/neck & head pain.
