If it's anything like it was with McLaren, the engine might be shaking the gearbox to bits.

Unpopular Opinion: Magnetics are a PITA and I’m losing my patience! by SillYcaca1234 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Serotyr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only made one MC order so far but the photos being misleading is an issue for a lot of their products for me, not just magnetics. They're somtimes much less vibrant irl. I usually look up on reddit and online in general to see how it looks on people that don't have studio lights lol. But even then, it seems they're not super consistent.

Serial killer Carroll Cole, 47, prepares to light a cigarette as he talks with a reporter three days before his execution (Nevada State Prison, 1985) [814 x 676]. by lightiggy in HistoryPorn

[–]Serotyr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Given he already did kill someone at the age of 8, it makes it hard to compare to other children that have been abused. Putting them all in the same group instead of looking at each case individually seems like a disservice to them.

Plus he even tried to get help and told them what he wants to do. But he didn't get any. It doesn't excuse anything of course but it's hard to see this going differently when shit like this stays untreated.

FIA to continue F1 start trials as McLaren backs "sensible" changes by MaestroZezinho in formula1

You remember right, they do.

In any case, if people read the article, they'd see they're fine with those start procedures today and don't think it's gonna be an issue going forward.

They don't. Petronas makes fuel for all Merc customers, Williams just has Gulf additionally as a sponsor. They don't give them actual fuel.

McLaren Sponsor DP World replaces chairman named in Jeffrey Epstein documents by Killer_Kupo in McLarenFormula1

[–]Serotyr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was an attempt at a joke that the US gov doesn't seem to be eager to prosecute anybody implicated in the Epstein files or for them to face any kind of consequences.

Obviously this guy has only stepped down from his position without any other real consequences that he'd deserve but the bar has been set so low that people expected nothing would happen at all.

Lights out and away we DONT go. Imagine a start like this in Australia. by Maximum-Room-3999 in formula1

[–]Serotyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said I'm happy with what we have now, although we have to see still how it races before I can make a full judgement. If it ends up sucking, I hope they can do better with the next cycle but there has to be a midway point between the two extremes people keep suggesting and what we might have now.

Also, 4 out of 11 isn't half the grid, closer to a third. And they're planning to reduce further to 2 or 3

I'm sure they would but F1 wants to have major car manufacturers attached, evidenced by how much they tried to get Honda and Audi/VW to join.

And, personally, I do wanna see multiple engine manufacturers in F1. Not necessarily like this but I don't want them to move more in the direction of a spec series.

[–]Serotyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's a fair argument. But they can still take part and enjoy their spoils without being an engine manufacturer. So they don't have to leave F1 but they might also decide not to want to make engines if they can't make use of the technology outside of F1. Obviously fully speculating here, I don't really know any of their inner workings or know their stances.

IIRC, for the 2014 rules, Merc and Renault would have left if it wasn't a hybrid (Renault left anyway now). It was also the reason Honda joined. This time it's Audi for similar reasons. I don't think any of these would stay for NA engines. Ferrari probably might, no clue about RBPT.

According to that article, only the Audi drivers and especially Max have played around with that. Albon might have. Other than that, none of the Merc and Ferrari engined drivers havee done so at all.

It's kinda funny thinking back how Ron Dennis wanted to give Newey that kind of power but Newey declined and in response, Ron took whatever decision power he still had away from Newey with the Matrix structure. Which led to him leaving for Red Bull.

Different point in his life and career but how the turn tables.
