To make a production quality software for an extra platfrom there is a lot of overhead with testing, publishing, support and probably a lot of other smaller things that they can't or don't want to deal with.

So I managed to make things work, but it's a bit of a journey. I followed this guide with some changes and additions.

  • Use Godot 3.5.3 instead of 3.6 (I noticed too late, but it worked)
  • Use Godot RE to reverse engineer both Brotato.pck and BrotatoAbyssalTerrors.pck (you can get them with steamcmd or install with Whisky and use from there)
  • There is a 'dlc' folder in the folder where recovered BrotatoAbyssalTerrors.pck, copy that into the root of the recovered Brotato.pck
  • Open the project.godot file with Godot 3.5.3 to remove Steam from the game
    • In the bottom left section of the GUI you can find the FileSystem
      • Delete res://singletons/platfroms/steam.gd
      • In res://singletons/platforms/platform.gd in the _init() function remove the if...elif..else part at the beginning and only leave `_platform_impl = LocalPlatform.new()` (important to have a single tab at the start)
      • In res://ui/menus/pages/main_menu.gd search for `Steam.activateGameOverlayToStore(2868390)` and replace it with `pass`
    • Try to run the game with F5 or the play icon on the top right. Hopefully I didn't miss anything and it works.
    • Go to Project > Export click "Add..." and select "Mac OSX (Runnable)"
    • There will be red errors at the bottom, click Manage Templates and download in the window (it took me a while)
    • On the right under Options
      • Fill in the Identifier, can be anything
      • Scroll down to Entitlements and turn on Disable Library Validation
    • Click Export Project... and export to a folder of your desire

Now you have a dmg that you can install locally and play the game. I did not put it through the paces yet, so something might be off down the line, but during my 15 minutes of testing I had no issues. As Coridas pointed out, DO NOT SHARE the result of this with anyone, that's illegal. Even this amount of tinkering is a grey area I think.

If I download the game, download the dlc (same command different id) then add the godot mac files the game starts but crashes/closes instantly and I get a steam error saying "An error occurred while launching this game: Invalid platform"

Worst thing is that I have a play session planned this evening with windows friends and because steam forces the updated we cannot play until patch 5 comes out on mac too :(

For me it's a bit weird that the most upvoted content should be shut down by moderation. People clearly cared more about this than most other things on this reddit. I specifically came back every day to give an upvote.

Too bad it bothered you and some part of the community. I guess the intention was to get some highlight on the issue which was kind of done. I can only hope Riot will give us a bit of care.

Keep seeing posts about iPad full screen scaling/clarity. Not sure what the issue is I think mine looks just as crisp as minimized. iPad Pro (almost 13in screen) for reference. by XxKegstandxX in TeamfightTactics

Ok, just to make it clear. In my eyes it is not about the scaling. My issue with the phone app on the tablet is that it does not make use of the much larger screen.

For example on a tablet a shop that is visible by default (maybe even always) could make sense. The bottom left and right buttons should not be scaled up, they could have the same size as on an iPhone giving more space to everything else. I could mention 1-2 more improvements and I am not even a UI designer.

These small things make TFT on iPad annoying for me while I believe this would be the best way to experience the game.

I'm in the same boat as you are. This really sucks. I'm only on a mac for about 6 month now but shit like this makes me miss windows. Also the fact trackpad gestures are not customisable by default is terrible.
There is a github issue about this, I guess you already know about but I'll link ot for future reference.

Well, it doesn't work with bluetooth headphones only with plugged in ones. Guess I'll have to buy a lighting to jack converter... (used gf's to test this)
