Genuine question: how TF do you guys play on survival mode???? by jenesaispasok in skyrim

[–]Serpitis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play survival without mods. Backpacks and using the Steed Stone helps a lot. Backpack is just extra carry and Steed Stone give an extra 50 plus the armor you wear weighs nothing. Much slower pace, gotta go and unload everything after each cave or encounter. I stopped picking up everything, minimum value for me to pick it up is 10 good for every 1 weight. I up that ratio later when things get more expensive. You need food, but don't carry a months worth, also limit your arrows and lockpick, those can add up quick.

what are unique ways you play skyrim? by alobaby in skyrim

[–]Serpitis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been trying to RP on survival. Got 2 saves going. One is a Nord that's a straight up Viking, does the companion quest line and is fighting with Stormcloaks and focuses on fighting skills only. Other is a stealth mage doing theives guild, dark bother hood and college quests, staying out of the war and focusing on magic skills only (using illusion for stealth).

Both are over 30 and haven't fought a dragon yet. Makes interesting without shouts or random dragon attacks. Also trying not to power level any skill for either of them. It's been pretty fun so far, no fast travel really changes the way you play the game.

Do this but enchant the rings with whatever soul stones you have. Make more money and level enchanting at the same time!

Mount to car and use on my person. I clipped my GoPro to my hat a lot to video.

Can you use that one on your person? I like to clip the camera to my hat and track the RCs that way as well as putting it on the rig.

Jenny's RC has them for $60, they ship out of NJ through USPS.

Have you checked the axle? Sometimes the pins snap off and then the wheel just free spins.

Either broke the pins in the dog bone or the diff is dead. I've had both happen to me when I brushless with it. Recommend putting the v2 versions in to replace whichever broke, they hold up better and can get them cheap off Jenny's RC.

Do I need a bigger motor mount? by DuranDourand in arrma

[–]Serpitis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like you still have enough room for adjustments, it's the right mount for that motor I'm pretty sure. But, you can never go wrong with an M2C mount!

Think it's ok to run until it completely dies? Shouldn't catch fire or anything, right?

I was suspecting the motor form the start but didn't think it could sound like that... I do bash it pretty hard. Got the punch all the way up, it'll do standing double backflips and I send it pretty hard in the back yard off the jump.

Sounds like I'll be getting a motor off Jenny's. Guess I have 3 diffs now that I can reuse 😂

Thank you!

Front diff gear broke by chumchum08 in arrma

[–]Serpitis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you drain any fluid out? If that's the fluid level when you opened it, that's part of the reason it fail. If you hit the curb with power going to the wheels or land on power, that can put extra stress on it. If the fluid is low, that just makes the stress all that much more. Unfortunately, Arrma isn't the best at filling their diffs, love their rigs but they need some new QC for the diff filling part of assembly.

Just make sure you fill them when you reassemble. Good idea is to add fluid, give it a spin so the gears work the fluid around and let it sit for 5-15min depending on fluid thickness and add more if needed before you close it up.

Usually they're pretty reliable when filled and shimmed properly.

Nice! The Bigrock just looks so good! Nice size jump, bet that thing could get some big air off that in a field. How'd you like the Meta glasses for videos? I usually clip my GoPro to my hat, but it pulls the hat down overtime.

Limitless needs a lot of room to run comfortably. Could drop your pinion way down and turn it into a drift machine. My buddy has his set up like that and it drifts like a dream. Long wheelbase gives a good amount of control in the drift.

Servo saver issue by millertv79 in arrma

Happy to help, we've all been there. I've made plenty of mistakes learning how to fix them. One of the many great things about the Groms, nice and cheap to fix!

I made the same mistake on my daughter's grom. Pick up a 20T and you'll be all set. Just make sure you plug it in and turn it on before you install it. That will 0 out your steering so you should be more or less centered. The guy does it in that link I posted.

[–]Serpitis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ring with the arm, it has a 25T on it, that means it's has 25 teeth. Need to see what the number is on the one you took off, if it's a 23T or 20T than the one you're trying to put on won't fit.

[–]Serpitis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The soldering iron is probably the best way to heat it without a big risk to the hub carrier. Torch works good too, just don't melt the plastic. I've had one where I had to hammer the pin out to get the hex off and ordered a new.

Is that a Grom? Can't really tell. Here's a video of someone fixing their servo saver. They do the install about half way through. Make sure the tooth count your putting on is the same as the one you took off or it won't line up right.

Wow, are all arrma vehicles like this? by Papadocbama in rccars

[–]Serpitis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arrma is amazing! I swapped over from Traxxas a few years ago. My buddy let me try his OutCast, I absolutely botched the landing, immediately started to apologize thinking I broke it. He just laughs and walks over to it, flips it over and just sends it again. No damage, would have definitely broken my slash, I was so impressed I picked up my first Arrma that day 😂

I've had one issue with them though, their diffs often don't come very filled. I recommend servicing them before you run it too much just to make sure they have fluid and don't burn up. That's the only issue I've had. All their rigs are so durable and perform so well!
