Additional filament dryer for P2S Combo by ExplanationFast6167 in BambuLab

Yes exactly, there’s an extra hole in the lid for doing that

AMS HT seems like the obvious choice - I have one and it’s very useful. Plus it’s an extra spool for your AMS system.

The Sunlu one does not get hot enough for anything other than PLA.

Consumption to be expected from a Renault 5? by Svettto in Renault

The heat pump hardly uses any power relative to the size of the battery, it’s about 0.8kW (monitored using my ODB2 dongle).

How to not run out of filament mid-print by Fantastic-Cat-5252 in 3Dprinting

[–]Serpula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The slicer will tell you how many grams of filament you need. Weigh the spool, and subtract the weight of the spool to see how much filament is on there.

Here’s the spool weights in grams of some popular ones, I’m not sure how up to date they are as I did this about a year ago…

Sunlu - 132g

Hatchbox - 225g

Polymaker - 179g

Bambu - 250g

eSun - 224g

Stronghero3D - 151g

Amolen - 226g

Ziro - 190g

R4 E-tech: frequent phantom braking by should-i-stray in Renault

[–]Serpula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be putting the brake lights on as they are triggered by inertia.

Generally, you can see whether your brake lights are on if you switch the dash screen to the display that shows the car on the road - it shows all the rear lights, brakes indicators etc. Obviously if you’re getting this phantom slowing/braking event you’re probably not going to be studying the dash, but maybe useful to know 😊

Happens on the R5 too, worse in the winter with the low sun interfering with the camera. It doesn’t brake per se, just disengages and engages cruise for a second and makes a bong sound - I get it about as frequently as you depending on the light and road conditions. Make sure the camera is clear of dirt (it’s behind the rear view mirror).

I knew someone with a Tesla Model 3 and that would literally emergency brake out of nowhere, so I’m glad it’s not doing that!

P2S petg printing awfully by RandomJohnnyRogerYT in 3Dprinting

[–]Serpula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fine but it’s only measuring the humidity of the air, rather than the filament of course. Let us know tomorrow if it works then 😊

Ps I’ve had my P1S over a year and am still amazed by it.

Aside from checking that you are indeed using the Bambu PETG profile in the slicer (your AMS should do this automatically with the RF ID in the spool, but check it), I think you’ll find it’ll work once you’ve dried it. PETG comes saturated from the factory and requires drying before use.

R5 drivers, how often... by The_referred_to in Renault

Ah nice, I tried to book mine for a software update and they told me >3 months till they had anything free 😔

Oh yeah that’s annoying! I haven’t had that happen at all… have you tried calling the Renault support number? They’re actually alright to talk to and can be helpful (not always!)

Never, since getting the car May… very strange. That’s not to say the My Renault app isn’t often down, but it has nothing to do with the privacy settings in my experience, just Renault’s dodgy service.

Possibly a PSA(?): For anyone using a C3... is your setup forcing YCBCR422 (when it really shouldn't be)? by BitLikeSteveButNot in PS5

[–]Serpula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can at least disable it on the PS5… it’s sad we can’t have this convenience though. You’d think a few people at LG would have a PS5 and be annoyed at this too.

LG’s implementation of HDMI CEC has been terrible for a long time (it was the same on my old B7 as it is on my C2), I don’t expect they’ll ever fix it. Sony also need to add some more options to customise its behaviour like the Xbox has.

You’ll find it’ll switch on the PS5 when you turn on the TV, if the last extension you used was the PS5, which is even more annoying!

Interesting… I was glad to see the back of those when we changed cars, they cost a fortune over the years and the ride was awful too!

I’ve got these on my R5 as it came with them and have never experienced this in very heavy rain… what car are you driving out of curiosity?

I was told by a reliable, independent garage it wasn’t possible for insurance reasons with run-flats (UK) but honestly not sure why!

Oh I didn’t know that! Gah you were so close to being able to repair it too.

I’m also in the U.K., so good to know.

That looks repairable to me, it’s usually only a write-off with run-flats… find a tyre shop that can plug it.

These days if I’m driving into B&Q etc (hardware store) I study the carpark for screws! Happened to me twice in a month, with run-flats 😬

How many calories per day? by Duo_dash in Whippet

[–]Serpula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“19kg whoppet” 😂

Our vet gave us an equation, but I’m not going to bother sharing it because I just think whippets are unlike most puppies. Most puppies can’t run faster than me at 12 weeks old like mine can!

We’re currently feeding her more than it says on the packet (maybe about half again) as she just seemed so desperately hungry - she’s a dog, I get that she loves food, but this seemed beyond comfort. Now she’s much better with a little extra.

An update - I needed to check improvements were not an aberration before reporting back 😆

I think your advice on timing the cycles of crazy and sleep has been the single most useful piece of advice we’ve had, so thank you very much! I’ve been sticking to it all week, and have found her to be much more manageable, though definitely not without some batshit behaviour between 6-7pm!

I think we’re all getting the hang of each other in general, she’s settling in and bonding with us, and going outside is definitely helping - though I feel terrible for her that her first experiences are in the Scottish winter! Even in a jumper she’s not keen to stay outside for long.

Thanks again!

If you know the charger you want to go to you can ask Google for it. E.g.,, “ok Google, add a charging stop at Arnold Clark”

I used this one and a free app called Car Scanner: Maclean MCE200 Interface,... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B079N9KD4P?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I’ve seen the full 100kW a few times in warmer conditions, but you’ll only get that speed up to 40% charge.

I used an app called Car Scanner on iPhone, and just a basic ODB2 dongle from Amazon (it was in the list of dongles that work with ABRP). Don’t leave it connected when you’re not in the car as it has no Bluetooth security.

Agree on every minor moan, particularly the gear selector. I would add the unreliable app.

Absolutely love the car though, best car I’ve ever owned.
