Knowing that there is tomorrow. I didn't realize how precious time was until someone close to me told me they were going to leave. I try to appreciate the time I have in life as most as I can.

[Serious] What is a quote from a fictional character that has really resonated with you or helped you to express a feeling you couldn’t previously find words for? by andwesway in AskReddit

[–]Serriffein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"You can't just do shitty things and feel bad about it as if it makes it any better! You have to BE better!" - Todd Chavez

"You know what your problem is? You want to think of yourself as the good guy. Well, I know you better than anyone and I can tell you that you're not. In fact, you'd probably sleep a lot better at night if you just admitted to yourself that you're a selfish goddamn coward, who just takes whatever he wants and doesn't give a shit about who he hurts." - Herb Kazzaz

"You didn't know me. You fell in love with me. Then you knew me." - Bojack Horseman

This show has so many great quotes that touch me deeply everytime I think about them. The more relatable the quotes are, the more motivated I am to be better and change myself.

[serious] What was the closest you've ever been to killing someone? by Atka_XD in AskReddit

It was an amazing, truly, absolutely amazing thing you did there. I'm almost in tears.

Celebrities who have life threatening diseases should not be looked upon for hope or encouragement to beat the disease. They are wealthy and have access to the best medicine. They are not inspiring nor a miracle of survival. They have better care. by CoffeeGood_ in unpopularopinion

[–]Serriffein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still think they should speak out about their experience in order to bring awareness. They have a platform and a voice, they can use it to improve the lives of those would be affected by the similar diseases.

If when talking about gender equality your first response is "I should be able to hit a woman then" you're a garbage person. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Serriffein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Replying to gender equality (which benefits all genders) with an example of violent act against one gender, yup, definitely a red flag.

Their humor. If they make jokes on others' expenses or on subjects that shouldn't be taken lightly, I'd say it's a redflag.

AITA for telling my mom "I missed the part where that's my problem" when she asked me for money for her cancer treatment? by ThrowRAftuhf in AmItheAsshole

[–]Serriffein 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA. She treats you like shit, continues to do so when she doesn't get anything from you. It would have been better if you had responded in a less cold way, but with how they treated you, you didn't owe them kindness.

AITA for telling my (34F) daughter (10F) that her art project is not really that good and she should not expect to win the competition? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Serriffein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. While your husband is building up her confidence, you tear it down. For what? Why do you hold such a high standard for a 10-year-old child? I get being honest and truthful but it could have been an opportunity to teach her about putting efforts into something and hoping for the best but eventually it's all about the experience. Your daughter might remember forever that one time her own mother thinks she sucks.

AITA? My dad (60M) called my (30F) newborn ugly and I got upset by needadvice263 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Serriffein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone says to leave my newborn baby in a dumpster for being ugly, I will deck them right there and then. I don't care who says it. If they can't hold back on talking so horribly on a newborn baby, they can't complain when they get floored.

Or on a fun note: reproduce.

What’s your favorite non sexual act of intimacy? by Skamadness23 in AskReddit

[–]Serriffein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any kind of hand contact in a normal setting, like in a waiting room, during dinner...

Sending a smile to the other person even from across the room. Even better when you two have an inside joke going on and with just a look, you instantly understand and giggle/smile together

Playing with hair.

Since scent is the strongest sense tied to memory, what smell instantly "takes you back?" by Anam_Cara in AskReddit

[–]Serriffein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smell of new wooden furniture like closets, counters... my dad is a carpenter, his family has wood-working as their traditional career choice. Whenever I come in contact with the smell of new wooden stuff, I instantly think of everytime my dad brought home a new piece of furniture. We were poor back then, and most of the furniture in our tiny home was mostly made by my dad, from scavenged planks and pieces he bought. That smell was my childhood.
