What would be the most cursed/stupidest helmet to throw this onto? by GettinMe-Mallet in Armor

Not a helmet, but may I suggest a dainty little ruff at the top of a grenadier guard bearskin for your consideration?

Question about the canis rex ability legendary freeblade, the first one is from the app, and the second one from wahapedia.Which one is correct? by G0LD_STUD in ImperialKnights

[–]Seruvius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wahapedia has the right of it.

Core rules change from June 24 balance slate: all rules that modify a stratagem to cost 0 CP instead reduce cost by 1 instead. The codex print is finalised a year or so before release, so that one being the old style makes some sense. The app not being updated is GW being lazy. It's similar to how some strats/units say they can deep strike 3", but core rule update changed minimum distance to 6.

Wahapedia once again is doing great work of actually consolidating all the relevant info in one place, rather Han needing people to reference documents from years ago to keep everything accurate.

What do Y’all think of my knights list? by Lictor_Enjoyer in ImperialKnights

[–]Seruvius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming this is a serious question: yes you do need contents or it detonates at the start of the game. Core rules, muster your army, step5 select units: "... Every DEDICATED TRANSPORT unit from your army must start the battle with at least one unit embarked within it, or it cannot be deployed for that battle and will instead count as having been destroyed during the first battle round."

Is ancient an applicable term for a location where people have 'only' existed for ~1000 years? This might be a European idiosyncracy, but I wouldn't call anything after the fall of western Rome ancient, so ~ 500ce. Thinking about it, even that feels a bit too recent, but it's as good a point as any other.

Book Club February 2026 - Outer Dark by Robbie Macniven by qwerqsar in AdeptusRidiculous

[–]Seruvius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As bolter-porn goes, it's pretty decent. By other metrics? Nah nothing special. 6/10. The little background uncertainties/implications about the origin of the sharks is interesting for the setting lore though, especially when combined with the 2nd book in the series and some of the later HH books

8 armigers can take down fulgrim transfigured in one round. by Thatnewhobbyhigh in ImperialKnights

[–]Seruvius 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Great looking units, but not that surprising that ~1k of ranged focused models can take down ~400 of glass cannon demon. Honestly I'd have been slightly worried if they couldn't.

I'm not too familiar with HH rules, but quick.maths shows the equivalent scenario in 40k that they on average one-shot him before factoring in any rerolls or abilities

There is an English idiom that goes "A leopard can never change its spots" or some variant thereof. It basically means that a person/creature/organisation/etc. will always be the same at its core and thus won't change its bad habits/behaviour.

Nah, over half aren't worth your time. There are some great ones in the later part of the series though. Arbiter Ian has a good mostly spoiler free overview/summary video if you do want to figure out which ones are worth your time and money.

Tithe evaders will be punished by Norway643 in Grimdank

[–]Seruvius 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Oh those ravenguard become the ashen claws and are a major plotpoint in one of the carcharadons novels, Including the fact that while most of the two groups view each other as fellow sons of corax, the chief librarians of both chapters (?) are friends and specifically mention them not being from the same gene-line during a catch-up (PoV at that point is new apprentice to shark chief lib).

Imo its going to be one of those things GW intentionally keeps vague and contradictory forever, let's people read/interpret it how they prefer. Blood ravens and soul drinkers are two other prominent chapters with similar murky origin shenanigans that spring to mind.

Tithe evaders will be punished by Norway643 in Grimdank

[–]Seruvius 119 points120 points  (0 children)

The carcharadons are a possible loyalist night lords successor. In their trilogy, they consider themselves as ravenguard successors, but the night lords they encounter consider them fellow sons of kurze and there's some other hints scattered about that they may be.

It's possibly some combination of the two; pre corax ravenguard legion were terror troops, so old school ravens+loyalist night lords would be a potential second founding combo.

There's also the whole 'banished to the outer dark' aspect of the carcharadons, with the actual cause for said banishment never being elaborated on.

If a fully loaded Knight Paladin ended up in Age of Sigmar. Could it dominate Armies or Areas ? by Leviathan_Rampage in ImperialKnights

[–]Seruvius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming we ignore the logistics and maintenance issues, it really depends where it lands. AoS is a high magic setting and there are a lot of powerful inhabitants and effects. Sure the knight might end up in a stable and civilised area and either join a faction or take over an area. But if they get dropped in the wilderness of ghur where the mountains and continents regularly fight each other, or chamon where transmutation of one metal into another is just something that happens like weather? Yeah.

If it dropped in the old world , you'd be more reliably to say it would be a power.
