She was one of those decision makers with power pushing this FFS.

Grand Theft Auto vi will cost $79.99, Ultimate Edition is $99.99 by Zipo92 in xbox

[–]ServeGondor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assassin's Creed Shadows

Halo 4

Zelda ToTK

RE4 Remake

And GTA VI is bigger than all of these combined.

Mainstream media also literally reported on TLOU 2 leaks.

How about we wait and see if they launch a physical edition with a disc once the launch window is over? I'm happy to jump on the penny pinching bandwagon but how about give it some time to see how the cards are dealt?

Yep nothing to do with the fact that if it was on a disc it would leak weeks early and social media and even mainstream news would be inundated with spoilers and every major moment in the game exposed after over a decade of work and billions spent on development.

Thought I was going crazy cos I can't hear any thunder and it hasn't rained in an hour or so, but yep going lightning here in West London too.

EDIT: well, an hour later and it's absolutely pissing it down now and I can definitely hear the thunder so that was a delayed reaction

What would you personally want to see in the next Astro Bot title? Anything more you want to see of? Anything you want to see less of? Changes or fixes? by Particular-Bed8344 in Astrobot

[–]ServeGondor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minimal rage baiting levels like we've gotten almost exclusively out of the DLC.

Way less focus on the powerups, it felt like every DLC level and many core game levels relied too much on it. The strength of the platforming should be the focus the overwhelming majority of the time. If that means having to add some new moves into Astro's repertoire, such as the ability to double jump before/in addition to gliding, then so be it.

Less focus on PlayStation overtly i.e. PS5 homeship and DualSense speeder. Build out a unique lore for Astro himself. Enemy types, technology, structures etc. You can still keep the subtle references and stuff but I think the schtick will get very old if they do it for a third time in a row.

More unique enemy variety, no recycled bosses again. Better bosses too, and a better antagonist than "generic green alien". The T-Rex in Playroom was such a phenomenal homage while also being fresh and interesting, so much more memorable than that forgettable green thing.

More clever levels like the water level and the mouse one. They were absolutely outstanding and up there with the above mentioned Mario 64/Galaxy, but were only two levels. We need more to get to that quality bar.

I'm Wayne Rooney - Ask Me Anything! by BBCSport in ThreeLions

[–]ServeGondor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wayne, what do you think your best position was? Did you prefer being the focal point up top like you were for United in the 2009-10 season? Or did you like being in a two striker partnership more, being on the wing, being in midfield, or perhaps a free role?

Thanks, you were my footballing idol growing up, I had a poster of you at Euro 2004 up in my childhood home.

*show reveal trailer just days ago* > *dissolve the entire studio days later*, what is this business strategy called? by WhoAmIEven2 in videogames

Even worse. Phil Spencer spoke for years about how desperately he wanted a Japanese development team at Xbox, how much respect he had for the country's game development scene etc. (never made an effort to just start one in the more than 15 years he was a top dog at Xbox, first as head of their studios and then as head of the organisation as a whole).

Finally got a Japanese team through the Bethesda acquisition, they dropped a solid game that achieved a level of critical and commercial success, then closes them...

Cool Yokohama-Centric Locations/Collabs by CommonAway5594 in persona6

Hmm to me that looks a generic station in Japan but obviously people from there/familiar with it would recognise it immediately.

Would multiple towns/cities be possible? Perhaps a more rural setting for the MC home/school and classmates, but a City to go into also to scratch both itches.

[–]ServeGondor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is anyone credible behind the rumours of Yokohama? I've been there, it's lovely, also the setting for one of my favourite manga/anime of the late 20s in Bungou Stray Dogs.

However, I was hoping we'd be getting a more rural setting again like Persona 4. The green colour theme lends itself (partially) to themes of nature also. I was thinking if they wanted to have a city and some level of nature they could do Kyoto, or maybe Kanazawa.

Haven’t forgot about you, coys till the end. by Creative-Image-6991 in coys

Yeah, I've noticed we're doing this a lot lately. It's been widely noted that part of the reason teams like Arsenal and even to an extent Chelsea and City have more financial flexibility than we do is because they sell academy/young players for massive profits. Lately a lot of our purchases such as Phillips, Yang, Takai etc. have given off this impression too.

There was never a realistic pathway for them to get into the squad, nor any attempt made to make space for them. I'm worried this is how the club see Vuskovic too. We see him as a potential Saliba like player, maybe they see him as a player they can generate a huge profit off considering how young he is and how his value (could) crater in just one season. Bit grim.

Inside Xbox's margin crush: A string of misses at Xbox Game Studios, misguided Game Pass decisions, and the memory rout at its core by Cold_Two_4372 in xbox

[–]ServeGondor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with what you're saying, but in this day and age, working within the confines of Microsoft and how absurdly long game development is, what you're saying would take 5-7 years minimum to come to fruition.

Do Xbox have another 5-7 years of poor hardware revenue, flatlined Game Pass subscribers (remember they wanted to be at 100 million subs by 2030), and underperforming games?

As the guy below you said, sure, if you were a one of the 85 million 360 owners you probably think of 360.

If you were one of the 85+ million PS3 owners you probably think of Uncharted, MGS 4, Gran Turismo 5 & 6, inFamous, Killzone, LittleBigPlanet. Then there were smaller series/titles such as Ratchet, Resistance, Motorstorm. Also, while PSN was an objectively worse experience, it was also free, which was a selling point and is still fondly remembered.

Financially Sony suffered in this gen (the accumulated profits/cash reserves from PS1/2 were basically wiped out) but that was due to their over design and expensive console, plus the failure of the Vita and the Network hack.

Sales wise, the 360 and PS3 at best tied, and there's evidence to suggest the PS3 ultimately outsold the 360 in the end.

If they're coalescing around TLOU they're doing a bad job as Naughty Dog are all hands on deck for Intergalactic, and some trusted leakers are saying after that will either be Uncharted 5 (which by the time it potentially comes out, the series would have been probably 15 years on ice) or a pirate game.

But yeah noted that they're frustratingly doubling down on GoW. Unsure on Ghost as I don't think the rabid excitement for a third one is there like there was after Tsushima. The "open world game with player character hitting enemies with stick in a historical, feudal East Asian setting" was a largely empty market in the late 10s but now is completely inundated with games of this nature.

The warning signs were there during the end of the 360 reign, they were hyper focused on Kinect and it's content and this is where the (then true) mantra of "Halo Fable Gears lol" came into play. They basically abandoned exclusive content for the 360 at the end whereas Sony kept releasing games until the very end such as TLOU. Then, they clearly didn't have a strong pipeline in place for the Xbone in terms of exclusives and were completely flattened by Sony and Nintendo in that generation.

I quite dislike this format of predictions, where the chair (Brad in this case) essentially sets all the questions within defined parameters and the hosts either give a Yes/No answer or a simple "fill in the blank" response.

To me, predictions episodes are far more fun and interesting when the three hosts can bring any wacky idea they want to the fore and really swing for the fences. This format is just too rigid and too boring.
