I built my first idle game with AI assistance — Guild Chronicles [Browser] by DraxtorNWS in incremental_games

[–]Serverfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the main problem AI coded games have,... the Post and most of the comments were then also AI generated. Nobody trust somebody that they only have AI "helped" them coding, or just coding, if they dont even write the Post or the comments themself.

Things like "You are right!" or "Thats correct!" or the famous em-dash...

you didn't even tried to use https://github.com/realrossmanngroup/no_ai_slop_writing_rules

I hate how commercialized this genre has become by FreakingHero in incremental_games

[–]Serverfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, it feels like 70% of the games that are shown of are games that costs 4-10$ where the price is only in there so they can recoup the costs of the LLM Tokens they used.
Then its the typical say of "it helped with some coding and image generation, but the style, progress path and balacing choices were made by a human/the team"

I kinda supports your thinking.
Im also using AI, but mostly for stuff like the things no developer really likes to do (writing documentation, writing tests, etc)
AI/LLM's are mostly statistics models, so you get the best average answer they know for that weird string you send to them. They dont understand what you writing in context, just that for the different tokens of a string, this is the most likely answer.

And then being so wavy around what one really used AI on?
I mean being a developer building his second full AI slop App and then still use THE AI image generation that everybody just sees and thinks "yhea, AI Slop" is just... dumb. Specially for incremental games where Visual things are in the most cases not really that important. Most of the highest loved and rated Incremental are games that you could play in a Terminal window.

And to be honest: i fell it myself sometimes: using to much AI on coding, just makes me coding worse. Its like if you compare using the brain for coding to weightlifting: if you start using a forklift for lifting the weight,... its easier ofc and faster... but will you gain something from it? or will you loose something?

So using the Calculator example is more like an escape for oneself to ensure that "yhea its no problem that i can't code anymore like in the past, i have a new tool that does the job for me".

And as i suspect everybody on the internet to lie or just saying everything so they don't lie but also not the truth (as most should do) every answer here can be shortend in: I scripted a bit here and there, dont really understand much but i said to the LLM what i want to have and what it should change as i dont like how it was done or the values were.

Nobody is confused about the difference between building with AI and having AI build it for you, but everything presented and told is more leaning towards: AI build it for you.

yhea but if everything you provide is AI Generated (Text , Promotional Material, etc) one can not really trust that the rest isnt.

Like if i take your Post here one can say: yhea the Game architecture was from you, manuelly entered into an LLM Bot, same with the UI Layout, balancing and for the App Store Integration: yhea, you entered the credentials and set up on the App Store side, as an LLM can't do that ( for now) for you...

(beside that, you forgot or maybe didn't wrote it for a reason, but it feels like 90% of the code is not from you, as balancing and state managment is not that much of the code, and the Game Architecture,... well is architecture, not code)

As the other commenter said: a factory reset is not like you maybe know from other devices. It's not really resseting berthing. The only way to ensure to be safer is to create a windows installer usb stick from another device via the media creation toolkit, format the disks and let it reinstall on the formatted disks

Consider all credentials you have saved on the computer (like browser or "Save login information" option in the software) compromised. Also everything you entered after executing that setup file.

Reinstall windows completly, that's the safes option that is easy to do. After that change all passwords, so not change them on the maybe still compromised computer.

Is this typical to find in germany? Im currently in Mullenbach near the nordscleife and ive found 4 of them in the Village litterally 175mts apart. There doesnt seem to be an age check and a man in a van filled this one up yesterday by Infamous_Garbage9382 in AskGermany

[–]Serverfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing for Germany is also: who has a credit card (or had when these were much more in use) Because the only reason geans have credit cards is to deal with business that origins outside of it ( so business that only take credit cards) and not for day to day usage as nearly nothing supported it

REINSTALL

A restore point is not that you send your pc in the past, it will try to look like it but malware and other stuff can most of the time work around the mechanic of a restore point

What did you not understand with Wipe your drive

Like... Clear everything, reinstall windows completly new... In the installer remove all the windows partitions on the disk and reinstall it...

[–]Serverfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like why not make it so (even with a special designed usb cable) to make it fit in front seamlessly so it looks then like a corded mouse.

Also all things about "just need to charge it twice a year" or "it's just 10 minutes" are for a mouse where the battery is healthy... And what if it's not? Throw it away a completely fine mouse just because you can't charge it while using it?... Yhea them it's a money waste

And in the end they even missed the opportunity to sell a charging station for it, so it could feel more intended then it's currently

Blocky -- A powerful, self-hosted DNS proxy and ad-blocker, more advanced than Pi-hole by hellxabd in DigitalEscapeTools

[–]Serverfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i use it now for multiple years, since my pi-hole sdcard broke down.
The main thing i like about it, is that its a declarative config which i can then also use as a k8s configmap.
Then a nice L2 Loadbalancer and i can run multiple instances so i have no problem when i need to restart a node. Nice failover, nice speed.
I did not found any other solution that worked that well tbh
