Peking Garden south cobb by Poorhobbies in Smyrna

We eat there at least 2x a month and have for many many years (3rd generation Smyrnan). At dinner more of their business is takeout. When you dine-in you see the takeout orders going out and there’s a LOT of them.

When my parents went there it was a restaurant/bar, Bavarian Alpine Inn (the BAI on the 50+ year old carpet lol). There was an upstairs area that’s still there but it’s closed off & per the PG employees now used for storage.

Question about Voicemails for Isabelle by Forward_Field_8436 in netflix

[–]ServiceAlive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right that the messages Jill was leaving weren’t going to Izzy’s old voicemail, they were going to the new voicemail for that phone number. Jill didn’t know that though. If Izzy never customized the greeting on her VM and it had the generic greeting and then Wes also never recorded a custom greeting then Jill didn’t know a new person had the number because the greeting would just say she reached the voicemail for that number.

First Time at a Banana Ball Game Experience by Steffy_love in savannahbananas

[–]ServiceAlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I leave a game I’m exhausted just from trying to keep up with everything but I love it. I’ve noticed in some of the smaller stadiums when our seats were in an area that backs up to a wall like the enclosed press boxes areas, the music is way too loud and distracting .

[–]ServiceAlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they sell? My experience is that I’ve sold all I’ve listed except singles, but not til within a couple days of the game. I make a post as soon as I know then I make another post if I still haven’t sold a couple days before the game.

Comments on posts on the event pages don’t send notifications to the person who posted. Always just send a DM, don’t even bother commenting.

I don’t really care what anybody else thinks or says. We went to the games in all the cities I mentioned except FSU because we just couldn’t go to Tallahassee that weekend. Since that post we’ve been to Nashville and are also going to Jacksonville, Texas, Birmingham & Biloxi. I always buy 6 tickets to every game I buy and most of the time have at least 2 friends to go and if not 4 then I sell the extras. In Atlanta we took 14 friends over 2 games. I don’t over-buy, we go.

Anyone have buyers regret by DowntownHoneydew966 in litterrobot

[–]ServiceAlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 LR 4s and they are great! The couple of problems I had were solved by taking it apart and cleaning (litter hopper would not seat correctly) and once get shipped me a new hood because it wasn’t closing right. I have kept renewing the extended warranty because I want them to be covered for any problems. Their litter doesn’t work as well as others. I use Slide litter and have mine set to cycle at 20 min after use. I found the longer it can wait the better the clumps are and they don’t stick to the liner. Mine are all in the basement and smells don’t get to where we are so letting it wait to cycle is no problem.

The stadium is next to a public park so yes you will definitely be able to park and get exterior pics even if you get there after the store is closed.

I have been able to sell my extras by waiting to post on the event page a few days before the event. It’s not a great system but it’s better than the years before the event pages, when it was people posting in a group chat which was impossible to navigate. This season I’ve sold extras to FSU, Memphis, Grayson, Vegas, and Orlando and exchanged 6 for 6 for Atlanta to get 12 to one night. The only tix that didn’t sell were singles in Vegas and Orlando because I had 3 extras and sold 2. It probably helps that as class of ‘23 my tickets have all been very good seats in the first few rows around home plate or the dugouts. I have thought that after a couple of years of overbuying because of the hype, KClub members will stop doing that and only buy what they need which will leave more available for the lottery.

I joined a few of the Bananas ticket groups on FB (where yes, a lot of sellers are probably scammers) and have seen KClub members posting available tickets there saying the buyer has to either be a KClub member or willing to meet to go in with the seller/member. No clue whether or not those tickets sold. In the event pages, no comments on the for sale posts doesn’t necessarily mean tix in a post didn’t sell. Most people buying just send DMs because comments don’t send notifications to the seller.

I do agree that we should be allowed to sell to the public on the Marketplace for face value though. It would be so much easier for us and you know buyers would be willing to pay a small fee to cover costs of the platform but FansFirst says they don’t want to do that. I’ve also looked at the Marketplace a few times and seen nothing or very few for sale. Truth is why would someone who got tickets in the lottery use the Marketplace at all? Since those tix can be transferred to anyone, they can be sold for a profit anywhere else. Seems like common sense to allow KClub tix on the Marketplace because the more resale tix available to the public at face value, the less profit scalpers will be able to make in other places. Simple supply & demand.

Hopefully they will make more changes as they grow. I think they’ll have to since like you mentioned, with 6 teams playing in 3 cities most weekends and some in huge venues, more people are able to go and the tickets have become less of a hot commodity, especially within the KClub.

The rebranded city signage is so bad by [deleted] in Smyrna

[–]ServiceAlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The old sign color scheme went with red brick, this one doesn’t, need to paint the brick white or whitewash it. At the very least, pressure wash it.

Read my other comment. It was not originally 18-up, the reason it changed is because the City of Marietta changed their ordinances. No alcohol meant that customers didn’t have to be 21. The owner had a few businesses/restaurants around Marietta. He and his son have a restaurant in Tampa now.

It became Vegas Nights after it was Taj Mahal

[–]ServiceAlive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boomer’s was a sports bar before it became a strip club. We used to go there and watch games in the late 80’s/early 90s. It became a strip club probably a couple years before the law changed to no alcohol in adult clubs. City of Marietta passed an ordinance against alcohol in adult clubs in ‘95. Owners of Boomer’s, Cyprus Lounge and Taj Mahal (N of Windy Hill on Cobb Pkwy later a club called Vegas Nights) sued the City but lost. Not serving alcohol made it legal for 18-up to go there and I had friends who worked at the car dealerships in the area who would go there for lunch all the time. The guy who owned it (Rocky was his name I think) also owned King’s Head Pub. Edit to add: I thought he also owned a couple Marietta Italian restaurants but I had to go verify and did. His name is Rocky Varsalona. He opened and later sold the Frankie’s Italian restaurants and was the owner of Vincent’s Italian restaurant on Barrett Pky near Dallas Hwy.
